Oh. My. God. I played Prince Affie in this!! I was twelve years old and it was the most amazing fun I've ever had. So many memories of running up and down that castle, and having to learn 'Stille Nacht' in only a couple of weeks with just a cassette tape and the lyrics! I'm 21 now and it's still one of the most memorable times of my life :) Thank you SO much for uploading!!
i played princess Lenchian in this, i'm the 4 year old. i'm 14 now. haha i remember it so well. they had to do this scene loads because they kept picking up a strange sound and it turned out to be me grinding my teeth.. wow its slightly embarrassing but, oh well
Well, Mrs 14 yr old (turned 22 now?) I for one thoroughly enjoyed it, yes I enjoyed your character too, best wishes for the rest of the yr 2020 (& after) to you & yours, fabulous movie btw.
This movie is so wonderful... And historically correct. At the end of this video clip, as the Queen is leaving his study to go back to bed, Prince Albert mumbles to himself (paraphrasing an advice given to him before his wedding) "Marry first and fall in love later..." - for, unlike the Queen, he realized the extent of his love for her only 10 years later... It's a wonderful love story... Very rare among Royalty
No more so than with regular folk, Royals fall and in love, & out, so do we, at least our Queens marriage has been just as strong & still going, wonder if the Queen will give her hubby Prince Philip a letter on his 100th birthday as any other British person who gets to be 100 yrs old? lol can you imagine? Hahaha
The Victorian Royal family spoke English. Victoria was born and brought up in England and regarded herself and her children as English. Letters which were exchanged between members of the family were written in English. They did use some intimate family words which were German. Such as 'Germutlich' which meant cosy or homely in family parlance.
Well... Albert was technically never a king, but only prince consort. But yeah, I guess that most fathers in general didn't play with their kids back then. And especially not in the stuffy royal circles.
@@Furienna My father never played with me, I'm quite sure there are many men who weren't naturaly maternal esp in the 1950s & 60s, but then me being the 7th & youngest maybe he'd just run out of steam bringing the other 6 up. Didn't get much attention as a child from either parent, mind you I wasn't the only one, everyone of my friends were the same.
De los dos, Alberto era más cercano a sus hijos. Aunque se buscara proyectar a la reina como maternal, Victoria no lo era. Pensaba que los niños eran muy repulsivos. Alberto se encargaba de jugar con ellos y de educarlos
+mcaddicts Well, Cowmilla's face reminds me of a horse, even though it's an unfair comparison, because I've never seen a horse half as ugly as Cowmilla

@Trading Post Apparently that’s what he’s holding on for. 😏
The actress played the Queen Mom on The Crown
the youngest child in this scene is princess Louise, later duchess of Argyll
This will always be the best version of the Victoria & Albert romance.

That is sooo cute that he played with his kids, most kings never played with there kids

Their, there they,re. They are all different. Learn the difference.

Jonathan Firth was perfectly cast for Albert, he looks just like him.
Indeed! Casting actually got it right for once!
I saw this when it was first aired and I loved it! It is SO well done and I wish you would post more "episodes."
Why not just get the movie?
A bear in the palace, I didn't think Camila was that old.
+mcaddicts Camilla is a horse!
That's can't be right. The Queen apparently loves horses.
+mcaddicts Well, Cowmilla's face reminds me of a horse, even though it's an unfair comparison, because I've never seen a horse half as ugly as Cowmilla
Don't insult the bear....or any animal for that matter. Animals have morals. Camilla never had, nor ever will.
You love Camilla as much as I do then
It is interesting that it was Prince Albert that brought the German tradition of the Christmas tree to Great Britain. Oh Tannenbaum, Oh Tannenbaum.
Queen Charlotte, Victoria's grandmother, was from Germany as well so Queen Victoria grew up with this but her husband took it to the next level.
It on UA-cam, the whole thing. The first part is called "Victoria and Albert 1"
Ohh my mistake.. i was thinking of the most recent movie The Young Victoria!!!
This was not in the original movie!!! I wonder why they cut it
Such a cute scene from a good movie
Is that the Queen Mother on The Crown?
marella castillo , I believe the actress playing Victoria is the same actress who played the Queen Mother in seasons 1&2 of the Crown.
YES! Victoria Hamilton.
Yes
Thats right. It was Paxton's design given to Prince Albert for the Great Exhibition.
I feel cheated - my 2nd great grandfather was born yet - he doesn't arrive until 1854!
Muchas gracias por subir este video! He estado buscando la versión subtitulada en español, pues no veo la serie desde el 2002, buuhh...
"well i'd think you'd better!" lol cute
@9chaza I remember you mashing up my cake with your hand just before the final take, so I had to eat it all in bits :p Good times!
"hun-ting pah-tee!" how cute! lol :).
@Dom76800 If you want to see this movie, it is on UA-cam.
