  • We take long shot at reaching the Space Engineers Space Station to find metal grids and other components. But do we succeed? All odds are against this Space Engineers Survival Challenge as we struggle to acquire the basics! This Space Engineers Survival Challenge has No Jet Pack, No Refineries, High Gravity, Low Oxygen, Meteors, Spiders (saberoids), Wolves, aggressive AI spawns from the Assertive Combat Systems mod, and more to make this our greatest Space Engineers Survival Challenge yet! This Space Engineers playthrough is delivered in a compressed Let's Play format that combines entertainment and Space Engineers information.

    Your two thruster set up should still slow you down completely without having to do that wiggle. At the low speed, translate your ship 90 degrees rotating on the x axis as if you're pointing straight up from the original direction of travel. This will cancel the vertical momentum your ship has. then yaw 90 degrees left to cancel out your sideways momentum. This maneuver should cancel any movement your ship still has.
    Great idea with the mayday signal also. You're in quite a conundrum not being able to use a jetpack nor refineries, but you should be able to find useful items on that ship if you can figure out how to grind the components without a ship grinder on board. Cross your fingers that there's a gravity generator operational on that ship.

      I would of thought so too, but it just didn't seem to respond that way. Could of also of been a slight disorientation in space on exactly which way was 90 degrees? Maybe the game is super sensitive to being a degree off? In the end after trying different directions, the "wiggle" just seemed to work, though I agree what you're saying is correct as well...at least it's what you'd expect.

    I run the 'perpetually perturbed pirates' mod on my server to keep players from becoming friendly with space pirates. Seems kinda cheaty on a regular playthrough to have friendly pirates, but you are not playing a regular playthrough and need to exploit any advantage you can find.
