As a Dutchie and someone from the same area as Glen, I love the way he keeps saying "grasklinkers" in between his English.
12 of the 14 original teammates face down in the gutter -- Glen: another successful victory
You have it backwards, only two teammates crashed. It's 2 of 14 teammates in the gutter.
I was one of the lucky ones to get in the final breakaway of 7 in this race. How I managed to make it to the breakaway was .... quite interesting though. Thank you Glenn, telling your teammates to just let me go!: ua-cam.com/video/yhROtBAf4AQ/v-deo.html
(the video has no commentary, back view only, last 20min in breakaway missing due to battery drain 🥱, some chapters for guidance)
Great stuff Jeff and Glenn, again.
Love it. My lunch breaks are always better with a NorCal video, and even BETTER with a Glenn one!
Earing on LB right now too hah
I am scared just watching the footage from the safety of my home.
I don't know if the description of that accident was quite accurate. It looked like teammate #1 didn't complete his pass of blue shirt guy before veering left to get off the rumble strip gutter, and nearly took out blue shirt guys front wheel with the move, causing blue shirt guy to lose control a bit which took out teammate #2.
Sort of self inflicted from a team standpoint.
Yeah it was not inattention that caused that. Glen's teammate chopped that guys wheel causing a chain reaction.
But then again.. "protect your front wheel"
Yeah, they were noticeably one-eyed in their description there. Also, it's kinda crazy racing those speeds on that narrow a road - I'm a new cycling fan, but sprint finishes on road races don't end on narrow streets for a reason
@@Bellerophon17 Kermesses and dutch crits (specially the ones in small towns) has their finish lines on very narrow roads, hell even with cobblestones in them.
@@MyDemon32 I've seen my share of Tour de Tietema :). If people are willing to do it, fair play to them I guess!
Awesome sweeper he’s kicking 1.3k watts more or less for sure
The sweeper did such a boss sprint! dude was riding the grasklinkers with 400m to go but still came over glen. and that red dude.
That was 100% number 52s fault. He tried to squeeze past when when there wasn't space and shouldered the arm of blue guy which knocked him off balance.
Was 52 on the same team as the rider that went into the ditch?
super video, needed that about 40 yrs ago. my teamates & I could never quite get that right. don't even remember people talking about sweepers then.
Last kilometer was bananas. Great footage/commentary.
Number 35 wasn't distracted. 52 (their teammate) pushed him from the right. 35 started leaning right and as a result pushed their other teammate off the road. So it was 52's fault here.
4:30
@@ugjhgjf Yes you're right, the blue guy was looking to the left while moving slowly to the right. It was very unfortunate. Of course in hindsight the teammate could have avoided passing the blue guy through that narrow gap.
Nice racing! That crash discouraged me from entering races, once was enough on the collarbone.
weakling
If you’re worried about your collarbone than you might as well not ride a bike. Any minor crash can lead to you breaking it
@@gustavosalvini1827 Oh come on, you know what he's saying, increased possibility
Leave the guy alone. Not all of us are paid to ride lol
@@MyDemon32 Hm, so basically saying "I am not a professional, don't earn shit with it and just wanna ride for fun, so consequently don't need to increase the risk with racing" makes you a weakling? Very weird logic to me.
The Dutch are no joke!
Awesome!! More content from Glen and the Dutch race scene please!! Super impressive
heart-in-mouth watching these Dutch vids
Jeff we need to go over there and try these races out! Maybe your fan base can pay for the trip lol.
Great stuff, looks like a great racing scene.
You'de be more than welcome :-)
average speed must be off the charts!
what's his ap and np?
8000000w and 8500288w
85km/53miles, 12 loops with an average of 46,9km/h or 29,1 miles/h
I’m from Goor and just picked up cycling. Was aware of this channel but didn’t know about “De ronde van Goor”. So seeing this was a fun suprise. Gotta try this route soon.
I always enjoy seeing the different race bike brands being used all over the world. Also like to see the UK, Aus, Japan, etc.
Keep it up, Jeff! It’s been such a pleasure to watch your channel grow!! Your rock
Great video, amazing work from Glenn and his team.
4:32 looks like Glen’s teammate 52 swipes, the blue kit which leds to the teammate behind going down with Blue kit.
Clearly Blue Kit wasn’t paying attention but certainly got brushed.
yeah my exact same thought, it's a tight space yeah, even if he looked forward not much to do, and as you can see he purposly hits his arm with his shoulder (the way he drops it and cuts in) for no reason which leads to the crash :/
To me it looked like the blue kit started moving right when Glen's teammates were already coming up on the right with a lot more speed. Look where blue kit is at 4:32 compared to 4:34.
@@raymondhollans What about it? He moved 10 cm to the right. It's not like he moved a whole lane in 2 seconds.
@@andrew7taylor he was originally on the left side of the white line, pulled off while looking left and never seen the rider coming up the right side.
@@raymondhollans Are you saying the guy passing on the right doesnt move left and chop his front wheel? r are you saying it was justified because blue shirt moved right 6 inches?
Love these ones!! Great video as always, and always interesting to see how they crits play out over in Europe!
That type of riding doesn't seem any fun. Being that bunched in going 35mph is just crazy.
Welcome to bike racing
I'd be scared shitless
Amazing to see so many Sensa bikes, I have one and its brilliant. will be purchasing a 2022 model to add to my collection.
Enjoyed the video! Is there a version with the audio up so I can hear them speaking? I learned Flemish/Dutch so wanted to get the "full effect".
great watch, no nonsense from the dutch
Dutch racing seems so much better than US racing. The roads are nice also
When riding in the weekend especially Sunday morning there's SO many people riding road bikes. It's crazy, also the roads are indeed really good with a lot of bike paths
Great commentary and video.
Gr8 getting to hear from the Dutch dude..tho I feel so so bad about the guy who crashed. in the start I rewound it bunch of times and he literally fell without putting his hands out I knew he got really hurt. dang man that didn't look pretty on that cinder block type stuff no less.
I know Jeff u had a break of collar bone. I can't even imagine the pain that feels like. Let alone when ur better and being vulnerable to another crash u must be like so on edge I don't know the words but like too careful where u can't race like before not u personally but in general. When I sprain my shit skateboarding tho when it is fully fully healed like an ankle cuz u can still feel micro pains even after 6 weeks when u do some impacts but u just let it happen.... But sprains when there passed I would LOVE what I do skateboarding so much and in the dateline and time of all high heart rate and sweat I just went after it like before. But a break usually the part that broke heals but it can some people always leave like micro pains and stuff no?
I love these videos. Especially the dutch ones (being a dutchie myself)
Missed this one, great race Glenn (and MVP Rob )
That was an exciting video! I realized I had my fists clenched during that final 1000m!
Love your videos. How do you keep the GoPro footage going for a 2 hour race without it running out of battery? Do you run a power pack to it?
Are those sensah bikes? I have never seen so many of these
Nope, Sensa, it is a different brand, i think it is Dutch.
They are Sensa bikes, a Dutch brand quite local to Goor, the location of this race
Sensah = Chinese
Sensa = Dutch (Holland) made bikes, they offer very good aero bikes for the same price or even less than Canyon (Aeroad)
Badass work! Sweeper was top notch.
I don't even race yet I enjoy these vids. I do watch the tours and classics in Europe however. I'm a former messenger so just ride for fun these days.
90KMS of riding...thats a lot of Kms to be riding at 50+kmph. just WOW
WHO ELSE LOVES NorCal Cycling Videos? I certainly do!
Nice video and commentary! Glenn is a talented and hard working guy, but take his power numbers with a grain of salt: he is using sjoemel software 😜
Back to zwift.....
Don’t fear the reaper, fear the sweeper!
Im in love with this channel
With 14 riders, you could afford to just run two strategies. One group working a breakaway, the other set up to dominate a field sprint. Why choose?
There's only 1 winner and your 2 strategies might conflict and cancel each other out
lot of rim brakes
That sweeper is an effing beast🤘🏻
Can I be his friend please 😂
Thanx for the moral 🙌🙌
he's my friend allready :-)
Sounded like a good beltch at 2:44
Wow, all these euro brands never heard of. Do they take Chinese open mold frames and put their logo on the side or do they have their own bespoke frames made?
Damn guys are on 🔥
Looking in front of you is key but getting bump from someone coming up to you is not something that can be anticipated. The crash was cause of their own team mate.
I really missed Glenn racing hope your mate heals soon
This looks like so much fun
Which service do you use for displaying the metrics and data? 👍🏼
Probably VIRB edit from Garmin, however no Garmin needed to use it (freeware)
@@henzelracesbikes I am pretty sure it's not VIRB. I am using VIRB myself and I have not been able to find these layouts and coloring options, VIRB is much more basic in my experience. And I have seen several other videos with the same kind of coloring. Who is it that edited the video?
Here you are 4:35
Man these guys cruising at 50kph effortlessly... I could barely manage to average 25kph for an 50 KM ride.. I just started riding cycle this year. Would love to know how to increase average speed
I ride an hybrid bike with 45mm tire, does it have an effect on speed ??
Dont ride hybrid
Amazing video. Surly you two need to be a weekly video. Pretty please😂
Wow! Chapeau Glenn!
Love Glen's videos
Ahhhh.. so thats a sweeper.. i get it..
Did he say the gutter was a cross link, makes sense.. that's what it looks like.
Which app is this
grasklinkers is just grass pavers. looks a little worse than a gutter
Barely missed the bystander 😮
Guys on white Sensa bikes could use a bike fit
We've seen some people do crazy-STUPID things for a $4,000 prime recently, eh?!?!
Waaah... what a awesome footage.
Very interesting! Does the teammates win benefit Glenn or is it the team that accumulate points for 2 of the top 3 positions?
'grasklinkers' are 'grass block pavers', grasklinkers sounds better😁
Last 1km and HAHA pucker factor extreme. 😬😬😬
Uff that finish 💪
10:52 every muscle in my body was tense
They should make a cat 6 and it that guy who crashed in it. And it will be only that guy racing cat 6.
Looks like to me his own teammate hit that guy that took his teammate out. Wth
14 teammates cycling on narrow roads sounds like stacking the deck
Call it L39gionnaires’s Disease.
@@allancoukell2911 clever
Pretty sure 52 touched 35, had little to do with 'look in front', was just a reckless manoeuvre. But that's the sport, I guess. Good the bystander didn't get hit, one second later...
More european races!
"De ronde van ghoer"
Finally!!!
Enjoyed that
I always get beat by my teammate.
And by teammate, I mean fellow random human.
team human ftw
They do not drive their bicycle
Ronde van de Grasklinkers
80 kg’s, a big guy 😀
Great
thats crazy. i would be dead. super dead.
hello
Looks like it was actually the guy getting his bars hooked that bounced across and took out the guy who crashed, don't think watching what was happening any more would have really helped?
Yeah, it looked to me first teammate didn't complete pass and came over to the left anyway, either almost taking out his front wheel, or hooking bars in process. Didn't look like a case where he simply wasn't looking ahead of him, the blue shirt almost got taken out by the teammate causing him to wobble and take out other teammate.
But hey, always blame it on someone other than your teammate.
It looked like the guy in blue pulled off to the right while looking left and didn't see Glen's teammates passing on the right.
Watch the head of the guy in blue. He stops pedalling, stares to the left, gets passed from the right, gets hooked and crashes the guy coming up from behind him.
If he would've continued concentrating and looking ahead, his periphereal vision would've seen the wheel from the right, he wouldn't have been surprised by it, he wouldn't have taken his focus and his power away from the handlebars and he could've stayed upright instead of losing balance and only getting saved from crashing out by transferring the crash onto the next guy.
@@andrew7taylor It looked to me he stopped pedaling because teammate #1 was coming over into his front wheel, and he looked to the left to see how far he could move over.
i don't think he just stopped pedaling and stared off into the filed to his left because he was daydreaming. It was a bam-bam sequence of events. Dude was coming off the gutter right at his front wheel.
love these
2:40 nice burp
👍
is sensa a fake trek?
No, Sensa is a real brand/company. Well known in Europe.
Sensa = Dutch (Holland) made bikes. They offer very nice and good bikes for the same price as Canyon. Also sell their bikes in store
Sensah = Chinese knock off brand
Who would fake a Trek? Blech!
