I saw a few things I liked there. There is a couple different churches here that have Free days once in a while. One has it just before Christmas where parents can come and get stuff for kids for Christmas. We helped them set up one year. It sure helps low income families. Love the shell and teddy bears shirts.
I know this sounds crazy but to wash hats and visors, put them on the top rack of your dishwasher. Sounds crazy but it works. I have never had one discolor or fall apart. It works great. I always have the drying heater turned off.
My church has a free sale once a year. We don’t sell anything. It’s a nice way to clean closets and get rid of extras and hopefully help a few families in the process 🌹
I appreciate that you didn't take things just because they were free, especially since the idea is to give poor people a chance to get things they need but can't afford.

I went to Goodwill today. I found one item I wanted. The lady behind me had a cart full of clothes and purses. I said I don't go to Goodwill unless I donate a bag or a box. Tina

I have several sets of those sailing vessel bookends...in different style ships...some are cast iron, others are bronze. Have six of the larger doorstop ships as well.
Hi, yes free is the best. I like when I see a woman wearing a vintage coat with a man's name on it. I think the Cathay tea cups (too large for saki) may be from Cathay airlines. Bookends are a great find as well. Tfs
The blueberry basket...I have one on my stove right now. My mom bought it for me and herself one...also a strawberry one. Came from QVC and has a big candle insert (came with 2 of them)...smells great!

The red handled tableware was bakelite handles. Collectable! Some places that you donate clothing to bale it up to sell to places like India who recycles the fibers for threads to make cloth to make other items.
Hi! The Harry Slatkin candle is sold on QVC for $25 or something like that. He used to design lovely candles for Bath and Body Works. I love that brand of candles!
Love the Harry jacket! That was my dad's name. I would leave the patch on. When I was in high school all the guys had Member's Only jackets. Free! That's awesome! It sounds unheard of actually. I'm in the 4th largest city in the country and have only ever heard of one church having a rummage sale and I'm sure they wouldn't have given everything left over away. It seems like you live in a great place. ☺
I'm surprised you passed on some really nice items that were worth good resale value! That flatware set and the frosted cake stand for example. You could have potentially made some money had you grabbed them.
Did you have the whole place to yourself? I would have thought it be packed with everyone grabbing and jostling. I like to grab now, think about it later. lol

My husband worked for General Electric for 38 years, he had patches just like that on his uniform clothes that he wore to work, his name was Harry.

Those dragon cups I would use them for nuts or trail mix. I like that size for snacks. Also could be used for Jello or pudding.

Toss the leather jacket in a warm dryer with the Gain sheets. Just until it warms slightly then put your petroleum on it. Like new.

Clorox bleach pens work well on things like the visor. You can bleach only the white part without it bleaching out the colors on the visor.

I was at a book sale this past weekend and whatever was left was free on the last day....found lots of vintage books.

Use a hot iron to loosen the glue on the name patch. I would put an old cloth on top of patch, just in case the glue or threads melt.

My stepdad used to work for Bethlehem Steel for many years in Massachusetts before it was Raytheon.
If you heat the patch with an iron you may be able to peel it off

The cups are for are for serving tea in, Saki cups are a lot smaller.
It was so quiet. In my area people would have been there like the Bumpass's dogs on Thanksgiving day in A Christmas Story!
