You'd probably be surprised to learn that none of these guys started out with formal training, aside from the lead guitarist and the bassist who I believe took some guitar lessons together when they were younger. Ruki, the vocalist, does have a trainer he has been working with for years now but he was actually a drummer previous to this band. They might have done training after forming the band that I'm not aware of but for the most part it's just their own passion and hard work that has gotten them to this skill level. I have so much respect for them :)
It's a guy. Most members in visual kei bands are men, is a little women in visual kei, so... Ruki has male voice, pretty low, deep and dark, so why you did think that is a woman? Ryosuke Kobayashi from A Crowd Of Rebellion has very bright and high voice and he is often confused with woman, but Ruki? How? :D
Oh, and if I'm correct, they don't have music education, they are just frends from high school. On the begginings of band, Ruki was not good singer... but he always was very emotional. He is vocalist since 2002 and now, after all these years, he has improved a lot as vocalist. And yes, in his singing you can hear classical technique. But I don't think so that The Gazette members were in music school, maybe they took some lessons, but not school.

Can you react russian rock band Таймсквер (in english Timesquare) and their song "Облако" (Cloud)? This is one of my favourite bands and I like this song so much, especially lyrics. In this one singing also Слава (Slava) from another russian band Tritia. Please react this song, I translated lyrics to english (because originally is in russian), I hope I did it right... This song is the last "dogmatic circle" of the Dogma album. The scenes you're seeing are from the previous two songs which completes this "circle", they're called "Dogma" and "Ugly. From what I've read many times in the translated lyrics, it's about someone who can't change his path. He already chose not to fight with the darkness within but to accept it, and there's no going back. It's about "becoming immortal" in exchange for every precious thing that you have. You can check out the English lyrics. They're available. What I always loved about The Gazette, is that they tell a story. They express it to you, you can see it and feel it. Their songs always have a deep meaning.
I was blown away when Undying came out.
You should check out these two songs so you can understand a little bit of the story of "Dogma".

Where you see there scenes from "Ugly" MV?
Ruki's vocal getting better and better, they brings powerful live. Undying is the top of my favorite, I thought it is about the powerlessness when facing an irresistible fate.
Guess what. Ruki is a guy. And he's like 4' 10" but they frikkin blast it. The Gazette is my bucket list concert. Been to two Dir En Grey concerts and they are better live.
Also, they started as a garage band and have been around for about 15 years now.

THANK YOU. People always forget to acknowledge drummers (don't forget their bassist too!).
Mostly they just see the guitarists and the vocalists because they stand out... but in my opinion Kai (drums) and Reita (bass) are the most skilled instrumentalist in this band. And yes, I still love the guitarist and the vocalist. They inspired me to pick up the e-guitar some years ago.
I'm listening to this band for ten years by now. Even though I'm not into Visual Kei anymore I still love their music and I'll always come back to it.
We'll... how about "Falling" by them next?

Hey ! You should definitely react to the Japanese band "Dir en grey” sometime ! The songs 'obscure', 'Zakuro' or 'Mushi'. They are actually my favorite along with the GazettE

@@THENOBODIESREACTS Really? Thank you! :D In the past I added comment to this video about that they don't have music education. For your knowing you can listen their song "Wakaremichi", this is their first song from 2002, they formed in the same year. On the begginings they were not that good like now, Ruki (vocalist) was bad, haha. :D But I love their old songs, "Wakaremichi" also, it's great song. :) Not all their songs are that heavy, they have 10 full albums and only last 3 are so heavy, you can find many different styles and genres mixed in their discography. I want to suggest you one of their best songs, "Dim Scene", from probably their best album "Dim" from 2009. Please react live version from 2010, you can find it with english subs, just search as "the gazette dim scene eng sub" and first video will be this. It's amazing song and amazing performance.
@@THENOBODIESREACTS Oh, I found your reaction from 12.07.2018 to another The Gazette song "Deux". It's interesting that there you said that vocalist is guy and here in "Undying" that this is woman, but in both videos he was the same outfit, hair and makeup. :D

Actually Ruki started as a drummer. He was kind of "forced" to start singing when The Gazette was founded. And his singing was absolute terrible. I mean like, just terrible. He improved over the years with hard work and in the end also a vocal coach that showed him how to growl and scream, and of course use his voice. But he has no singing background, no opera background. No professional vocal schooling. He just practiced his ass off.
