  • Welcome back guys. Sorry about my infrequent upload schedule. I would've gotten this one out earlier, but my computer broke down so I had to wait till it was fixed to finish this one. I'm hoping to get some more videos out for you guys this month though!

I can see how people may have taken aspects of this genre and added it to films that have more of a plot structure. Now so much of film has changed in the last 20/25 years and unfortunately it’s become very corporate: super hero’s and horror remakes. But every now and then it seems an indie breaks through.

this is great, I’m surprised it’s not a well known channel/video! Gonna add some of these movies to my roster and try to get through them now, thanks for making this!

Great job on the video. I liked your bit of insight and analysis at the end about what makes the genre. It would be cool to see a bit more of that throughout. Keep it up!

Mumble core comes across like other kids with the means art genres. It’s thin. There is always a few who break with talent from the privileged so it’s worth it. Others fly further on fumes, access, and the false perceptions they are making art by fueling all the pretensions associated art. You can see this a lot today where big names show up in anything that might “be” something. Like I said before though. Some good things get made ultimately with in this haphazard system so it’s good in the end.

i liked the video, i like your style and wanted to hear about this topic. one teeny tiny suggestion for improvement, the loud buzzing noise at 1:25 was pretty unpleasant. maybe something less jarring would be nicer next time.

I'm glad you liked the video! Sorry about the sound effect. I didn't think about it too much, because I didn't expect so many people to watch this video, but I will keep that in mind going forward. Thanks!

I can note one huge difference between Dogme 95 and Mumblecore. I can get completely through a Dogme 95 movie and possibly actually LIKE it, when a Mumblecore movie will repulse people of depth and taste in the first 5 minutes. I see these "filmmakers" having gone onto "Hollywood Success", which is more a contribution to the further destruction of Hollywood as a competent storyteller.
