Mahomes is changing how the QB position gets drafted. Like after Steph Curry, every small guard who could jack up 3s in college got major draft hype. Teams chasing after the next Curry tricked themselves into taking Trae Young over Luka Doncic. I think Caleb is the Trae Young to Mahomes’ Curry. He might be a decent starter in the league, but if you just chase the next Mahomes all day you’re going to get lots of busts (Z. Wilson, Lance) and miss generational talents
To be fair, I DO see a lot of similarities in their game coming out of school where the VAST majority of their game was playing off script. The problem is Mahomes had Reid to refine it and work out bad habits. I don’t think that Eberflus is capable of doing the same with Caleb.

THIS! People don't get it! When Caleb is being compared to Patrick Mahomes, they aren't necessarily comparing Patrick Mahomes of today, with Caleb coming out of College. Patrick Mahomes wasn't considered the next GOAT coming out of college but now with his playing style, and success, He is in the conversation. People seem to think Caleb is a finished product, which if they are being honest they know he is not, just like Mahomes was not the QB he is today when he came out of college. I think Caleb has many of the same qualities as Mahomes, and has a better foundation than Mahomes did coming out of college. The real question is can Caleb develop into the type of QB needed to succeed in the NFL?

What gives you that idea? Every one of his teammates has lauded his leadership! He goes above and beyond to praise and do for his OL! He does nothing but share in what he has been given. Stop hating!

Well said, Lavar. The problem is the public naturally begs to know "Who's the comp??!! Who is he like?!?" and then when scouts give their honest opinions and say hmm, his mechanics , athleticism and creativity remind us a lot of Patrick Mahomes", then everybody takes that and runs with it, saying "It's the Next Patrick Mahomes!, It's the next Patrick Mahomes!". It's all just mind-numbing noise. Caleb is his own person. Scouts say what they see. The media pushes the juiciest narratives and sound bites. Then people get mad and create a backlash against the narrative just to prove they're going "against the narrative". When they were the ones who asked for the narrative in the first place. First of all, the comp is Mahomes AS A PROSPECT, not as a Super-Bowl winning veteran with arguably the best offensive coach and play designer in the league. Second of all, Caleb needs the space to be Caleb, and develop at his own pace, first as a rookie, then go from there, based on his coaching and support system as an NFL QB. Let's stop trying to microwave everything based on sound bites and lazy narratives.

Its college, you can't just go by that. Mahomes had a losing record in college. Caleb can make all the key plays he needs to make. He's gonna end up going to Chicago and Fields is gonna be starting in Atlanta.
You watched a few I have seen all of them he is the closest thing as a Prospect to Mahomes with his off script plays you cant Teach. Its no way to win in the NFL with regular guys anymore he may bust but it won't be because of his abilities.

Caleb Williams will 100% be a bust. The guy paints his nails and cries to his mom after losses. Plus let’s be honest he’s not that good. And his back up came in and had a better game than he ever had.

Stop the bullshit. It's people like you in the media that downplay talent over stats. I am a Chiefs fan and I remember how surprised I was when we moved up to 10th to draft Mahomes because nobody plastered his name all over the media. All I hear are things about Calebs character but when I watch him play, he is the closest QB to Mahomes that I have seen. Chicago doesn't deserve a talent like this if it's constantly a debate. He is the best QB available and the right move to do is draft him, not encourage Ryan Poles to franchise malpractice.

I still like Josh Allen the most! Mahomes is great and put in an amazing situation with Reed, Hill, and Kelce. That team was already really good and he brought them to new heights. But Josh Allen, Burrow, Herbert, Jackson etc would all be successful in KC with Reed and those teams. Not saying as successful, no way to know!
