One other thing about this tour that needs to be reworked is that their social media's are horrendously under managed. I went to my first HWMTL Glow Party event in Tacoma, and it would've been nice to know ahead of time that "14 trucks meant duplicates of the same seven" and that their "biggest show ever" would be on asphalt, not dirt."
I don't think Hot Wheels Monster Trucks Live is close to Monster Jam as they have a long way to go. Hot Wheels Monster Trucks Live does have potential but they need to make some changes before they can catch Monster Jam. For example, the tour needs to add racing to its shows. Racing is part of monster trucks and would enhance the shows. Speaking of shows, I would like to see the tour do more outdoors events including a show at either Wildwood, NJ, or Virginia Beach, VA. Bringing Bigfoot in was huge for HWMTL. I would like to see Snake Bite along with Samson on the tour. In addition, HWMTL should bring in more indepedent names like Virginia Giant, Krazy Train, Block Head, Toxic, and Illuminator. Bringing in more realistic trucks would give the series credibility.
@@MichaelHeilman Blockhead wont because Badlands or whatever they are called now run Toughest Monster Truck Tour/Monster Nation nearly exclusively in Q1 and have for some years now. I kind of wish that Hot Wheels would use their own IP but also have different identities on tours to make it seem different. One main reason I'm skipping Glendale this year is that we just get 5 Alarm and Skelesaurus as the only two new trucks. The other five (Hot Wheels Bigfoot, Bone Shaker, Tiger Shark and Mega Wrex I saw twice in the past two shows with no change and I just saw Gunkster last year.) That and last year's show was not that great.
This is exactly what I think would fix the tour long term. Also I wish HW would bring back the MJ era practice of sponsoring or licensing independent trucks and designing bodies for them. I would love to see them partner up with Teams like Warped Motorsports (Toxic/Illuminator) and Send It Motorsports (Terminal Velocity/Uproar) even if it means they have to run X amount of HW shows because it showed Mattel cared about the teams and their fans back then. Heck, I remember sending them fanmail about licensing some trucks and many of which eventually came out! (Rambo being one of them and I actually have that one!)
@@michaelking761 I feel like the Hot Wheels tour have gone down in quality. My friend attended a show in Trenton earlier this year with his son and he said it was not great, even his son did not like the show. The trucks Hot Wheels did away with like V8 Bomber, Demo Derby, Hot Wheels Racing 1, could be part of an outdoor tour. I said this in other UA-cam video. If they would take the idea from the old Major League of Monster Trucks and allow trucks to disintegrate a bus, the tour would easily become a fan favorite. They have a long way to go and I hope they succeed. Otherwise, Hot Wheels would've been better parterning with Monster Truck Throwdown or another independent series.
Probably my favorite video yet. A lot of research was put into this one and I actually learned stuff I didn’t know about. I always wondered what happened between Mattel and Jam.
I just watched a “highlight” reel of their latest show from the long jump competition. The truck didn’t even clear the full car out of the 5 lined up. That was the longest out of the 5 trucks
i think it’s truly meant for little kids and monster jam for everyone. my kiddo loves the songs that go with the trucks. i don’t like the theft of ideas, models and such but monster jam and hot wheels having different focus is fine to me. obviously i enjoy monster jam as an adult.
ah. working at walmart, i always wondered why there were both hotwheels and monster jam truck toys next to each other but clearly separate. i thought it was just so hotwheels could freely create made up designs for style or such that couldn't or wouldn't be used for an actual truck. like the ufo one that looks like an actual ufo without the crazy roll cage and such. i see now. happy to see that an awesome sport like monster truckin has a competitor now. maybe we'll finally get more freestyle and crush cars back instead of all the stupid racing on 2 dirt ramps and shit. fans will go to the more entertaining ones, so they'll have to keep getting more entertaining to stay ahead of each other. this is a win for the people. let's gooooooo.
even tho this comment was in the premiere and it was the first its gonna a great part 2 to the last video! now remember your series which was a season recap for a truck? do a 3rd episode where its the 2016 grave digger season recap or something and if not then its ok im a big fan of you and your content
I love monster jam having competition. I just wish it wasn't so....garbage. It's just a child show with a couple rows of cars. I grew up watching shows just like this in Portland and was always super disappointed that we didn't have a "real" show to go to. It really is just flashy lights and annoying children songs being played constantly. The hotwheels shows suck, bad.

The Hot Wheels Monster Trucks Live tour I feel is not great. I do enjoy the hosts. I saw them in 2022 and 2023 on the August Glendale stops with Freddie and Margie as hosts and honestly they are great at what they do and could easily host Monster Jam if they wanted. I did really enjoyed the first show as I accepted the limitations of an event in an arena with only three crush cars stacks. I did like the multiple competitions but when I went to my first show in Glendale August 2022, racing was an unpromoted grudge match between Race Ace and Demo Derby. It wasn't some Taurus vs. BearFoot or Grave Digger vs Outlaw or Stomper vs Bigfoot that was talked up, it just happened. I was actually glad when they dropped it the next year. As much as I love racing, I wish that they would either do timed passes or bracket style if they are going to do it. If not, don't include it. That said the glow party was my second Glendale Hot Wheels Monster Trucks Live event. That one was rather lackluster. The main thing of note in that event was it was a rare event win for Joe Cypher in the last ride of Race Ace besides the Paris show. He had a great event. MegaWrex had a wreck and broke after sky wheelie when the wheel broke and it careened into the old away bench at Desert Diamond Arena. The biggest complaint I have is the freestyles. They are very slow and rarely get good hits. Part of that is the cars are basically flat and don't allow for good sky wheelies. A number of the trucks like I want to say Tiger Shark at my first event were broken during the first show. I get if it was the last show like when I went the next year, but to have issues on the first show and run a cylinder down is a bit Jojo. The Tacoma Dome show really underwhelmed me. I know Hot Wheels is far more of the kid side of monster trucks and far more than Monster Jam ever was, but it just seemed like it was very low effort. You have 14 trucks, just make everything tandem. Meanwhile, Hot Wheels does have the bodies to do different things. Bigfoot could have ran a Snake Bite, a Patrick Enterprise truck could have ran as Samson, they had the retired V8 Bomber, Hot Wheels Racing 1 and Race Ace bodies that could have reused too. My problem with Hot Wheels is it cheap on production. Monster Jam while not all shows are good are worth it. Hot Wheels, it is a crap shoot largely.
My son got into monster trucks last year and I have been desperately wondering why hot wheels and monster jam parted ways. Phenomenal video! I would like to know why Monster Jam chose to not renew with Hot Wheels. Is it because spinmaster had that good of a pitch? In my area of North Carolina, Hot Wheels Monster Trucks Live does NOT sell well. We regularly see tickets that are 25% off and less than half the seats are filled compared to a MJ arena show
It is strategic with hot wheels because the boxes and trucks looks so similar. If you didn't know any better just by by taking a glance at the isle at Walmart without reading a label you would think that Monster jam is doing fantastic with all that inventory. It appears that Monster Jam and Hot wheels can operate as separate entities as long as they don't get to Cart/IRL or even WWF/WCW levels.

I am a lifelong hot wheels fan and i didnt know any of this. Monster jam was one of my favorite hw lines as a kid, i still have 500+ of them stored away. Mattel really ruined monster jam diecast for me. I loved the original monster jam line for its great decos and chassis. (it all started to go downhill in 2016 for me). When MJ and HW split, i disliked both the Mattel line and Spin Master line. The "Monster Trucks" are just bullshit. Utter crap designs with cheap plastic and wheels that rub on the chassis at full lock. The spin masters are somehow worse? They fail to track straight when rolled and ive had the diecast bodies break and paint chip far too easily. Also, ive never gotten one with good * round * tires. Always lopsided. I stick to collecting the "vintage" (not vintage, just older) HW MJ trucks that i remember fondly.
I was so sad when I found out Avengersracing was attending the Tacoma shows cause I instantly knew I was gonna get zero growth from uploading those shows 😭😭😭 love him but MAN it’s hard sometimes
I just saw the glow party show, was always excited to see bigfoot as a kid. Thats now my sons favorite truck. But the show is definitely geared towards kids and they handicap the trucks really bad. The show could be great for kids and adults alike, but doesnt have the wow factor of the modern trucks capabilities
I think Hot Wheels should've partnered with another established Monster truck group like Monster Truck Throwdown. You go have to give them credit for getting Bigfoot to sign on for the shows but that's really the only thing worth going to see. Hot Wheels could've tried adding one or two of their own designs like Bone Shaker and have Bigfoot competing with other established trucks along side MTT.
I was super disappointed in the recent hot wheels San Antonio show. Seeing Joe cypher and big foot pre show was the highlight for me. Monster truck wars tour was 1000X better imo
I have to admit, when Hot Wheels and Monster Jam split, it broke me since I enjoy collecting them as a young adult and still have two autographed trucks. But seeing Bigfoot return, a couple of well-made original and collaboration is amazing. Compare to monster jam, hot wheels could be argued to be the first event to run in NYC, I could be wrong, and can eventually run in a stadium, but hopefully with a better setup for competition. I care less about the war. It's silly and stupid, but I do hope to catch a hot wheels show in the future for Bigfoot, a verison of it of course, Gunkster, because of my brand, and hopefully a dinosaur truck.
Maybe I’m old? But I’ve never wanted to see freestyle and tricks. Monster trucks are supposed to be car crushing power houses, that roll over cars. Give me slow car crushers any day.
Can we get a history of Bigfoot video. It would be great to see the rise, decline, and rebirth under Hot Wheels with the truck that is such an integral part of the sport.
Even tho the contract ended about 6 years ago I feel like hot wheels monster jam was a huge part of many people’s childhoods while yes the trucks weren’t the most accurate they were nostalgic which really can’t be said about spin master sense it hasn’t played a super huge part in monster jam’s history compare to hot wheels. That’s not to discredit spin maters castings sense they are a lot better but spin master has leaned towards kid friendly casting but if you look at hot wheels casting line up there are trucks that won’t be ever/ won’t likely be made ever again it was a sad ending to the partnership but it was a partnership that made our childhoods great and I thank hot wheels for that 2018 will forever be a chaotic year for many people like me
Y’all gotta remember the target audience for these types of show is kids around 5-6. Also shoutout to Jackson for using my clips from last years show! Can’t wait for this years show!
Spin Master makes the trucks differently too. I remember the wheels popping right off of Hot Wheels Monster Jam trucks but you'll actually break the Spin Master trucks. The paint peels off of some of the trucks too and the designs aren't accurate. Take Max-D for example, the truck body is the wrong shape but Hot Wheels did it right.
@@RDCNATIONThe wheels popping off was only a feature on a specific diecast series Hot Wheels made at the time. They didn’t do that with most of the trucks, and have since stopped it altogether. Also, Spin Master’s Max-D is much more accurate, especially with how they made a front engine chassis mold to replicate the real truck.
@@miketrapper0464 Hot Wheels put much more detail into the trucks but around 2016 they declined in doing so. I like Spin Master's Son Uva Digger and Avenger trucks because they're larger and accurately shaped. The spiked Max-D trucks from Spin Master are different. The bodies aren't shaped correctly. It seems they modeled the body from Blake Granger's Max-D truck and not Tom Meents's 2015 body, which is what Hot Wheels used for a while.
I have been to the Hot wheels event in Louisville Kentucky 2 times the arena floor area is too small for the truck to perform. Like it that Hot wheels has crush cars for their show. But the area is too tight when u have 6 to 8 trucks on the floor along with the crush cars they can't perform and u get a slow paced show
Bone shaker and hotweiler are certainly not knockoffs. They were hot wheels cars originally and were never really meant to be knockoffs of monster jam trucks. I do think they could have picked hotweiler to make into a monster truck because it was similar to MM Rottweiler, but it was still their original design. Bone shaker i definitely can't see being a knockoff. Considering how popular of a hot wheels car ir is (plus the fact they had already created it into a monster truck) it was a no brainer for them to bring into HWMT.
@@joyoustye2326 hotweiler I can see since it is a concept copy, Bone Shaker besides that one repaint is not. Bone Shaker was in existence as a Hot Wheels car before it was made for the Hot Wheels Monster Jam toy line and then brought back. Hotweiler wasn't. It is the Vanilla Ice of monster truck toys. Hot Wheels will say it isn't the same but we all know like Ice used Under Pressure for Ice Ice Baby, Hot Wheels tweeked Monster Mutt Rottweiler and made it its own.
Well this is an average day for Mattel they’re always getting complaints about not listening to there fans, Poor quality stuff, etc. BUT THIS QUALITY NEEDS TO STOP MONSTER Jam is flat out better than hotweels
The monster trucks are like the ones they use the same bodies and the same tire from like 2009 when like monster jam was still like getting popular. I know it was like super popular but like it was not that popular I think, but sometimes it was, but they use the same bodies, they don’t like the new ones and they just like 30 miles like like maybe 50 but it’s just not fast. I hate it.
Matell did Momster Jam dirty. However they did way worse to Thomas the tank engine. I grew up loving Secret of NIMH 2, and Land before time sequels that downgraded the original in a way not half as bad as what Matell did to Monster Jam and even worse to Thomas
What’s even weird? Is that at the every start of the show right? They sing the American national anthem before every start of the show and no trucks will perform their tricks because that’s disrespect. Usually Monster Jam does not do those stuff usually small Monster Jam shows would be doing that it’s kinda weird hey singing a national anthem at a monster truck show
While the story behind HWMTL is fascinating, it is kinda teling that MJ are at least trying to get their act together HW seem to be going in the complete opposite direction. Their shows aren't very easy to watch or film, the glow effect is played out and the hosts are cringey rejected kid show hosts. While they have helped boost the Bigfoot name, it feels like they have also made the team less accesible to those who don't go to their shows. That being said, this tour would have gone under or remained niche years ago without the Mattel money since the MT community is starting to turn on them
I'm a diehard monster truck fan I want to hotwheels live and the show didn't quite blow me away. Butt I was a big fan of not seeing trucks. Get destroyed my Problem with monster jam is that they tear up their units and put their drivers in harm's way. To the point where if you go to a regular monster truck show at, like a fairgrounds, you're numb to a people think it's boring because feld entertainment. Owens all their trucks, they just recks them. And there's also no innovation either.
@@kylenovak3410 but with risk of damaging trucks most of the time especially in monster jam we see something cool happen, like Anaheim for example, Adam destroyed grave digger and flung the tire out like a baseball, that was a huge highlight that while yes damages the truck severely, because hot wheels has no risk and just has trucks go so slow at hitting the cars, the event is boring, while monster jam because they go fast and do things that can damage the truck and even saving it without any damage, makes those events more entertaining than other monster truck events
I know why they don’t put good shows because they just hire sometimes they hire like the good ones from like monster jam but sometimes they hire The like the people that just started monster jam or a monster truck they just like a random people and I don’t like it I used hot wheels so much. That’s not to discredit spin maters castings sense they are a lot better but spin master has leaned towards kid friendly casting but if you look at hot wheels casting line up there are trucks that won’t be ever/ won’t likely be made ever again it was a sad ending to the partnership but it was a partnership that made our childhoods great and I thank hot wheels for that 2018 will forever be a chaotic year for many people like me
Soon hot wheels monster trucks live is going to livestream their events. I can just see it happening
That’s why I prefer spin master because they’re nicer company to them instead of hot wheels
Cool video!❤
When are you going to do that World finals Vlog?
Y’all gotta remember the target audience for these types of show is kids around 5-6. Also shoutout to Jackson for using my clips from last years show! Can’t wait for this years show!
Ooooh, it seems that Mattel is now declaring war on Monster Jam after 2018…
I wonder if they can be like the “Monday Night Wars” of Monster trucks.
After Hot Wheels And Monster Jam Parted Ways I Switched Over To Spin Master Monster Jam.
@@RDCNATIONno, spinmaster makes the toys a thousand times better than hot wheels ever did
@@RDCNATIONThe wheels popping off was only a feature on a specific diecast series Hot Wheels made at the time.
@@RDCNATION sure bud, you keep telling yourself that
Lets be real, bond shaker was invented by hotwheels, same for the racing 1 shape, tho the blue thunder one,the shape of the toy was invented by mattel
@@joyoustye2326 the way they colored them on their trucks were knockoffs
@@joyoustye2326 hotweiler I can see since it is a concept copy, Bone Shaker besides that one repaint is not. Bone Shaker was in existence as a Hot Wheels car before it was made for the Hot Wheels Monster Jam toy line and then brought back. Hotweiler wasn't. It is the Vanilla Ice of monster truck toys. Hot Wheels will say it isn't the same but we all know like Ice used Under Pressure for Ice Ice Baby, Hot Wheels tweeked Monster Mutt Rottweiler and made it its own.
Hot Wheels be like
I heard that hot wheels is going to CFG Arena in August so they may be trying to take that arena away from Monster jam
The wheels need traction from the dirt
What about new monster truck call the wrecker who is a driver
Chad Tingler is the driver.
How many Monster Truck events have A Wheelie Competition?
A wheelie competition? Pretty much every monster truck show has one.
@@ScreaminD200 Why
Most promoters?
Why not?@@Dog-man682
Well this is an average day for Mattel they’re always getting complaints about not listening to there fans, Poor quality stuff, etc. BUT THIS QUALITY NEEDS TO STOP MONSTER Jam is flat out better than hotweels
Now do the rise of DLB
Dis channel was made in monster truck city
Man...Mattel's Pretty Scummy ☹
Do you even know toy tester Tom?
Rise? It was better in 2019 when it first started its a decline
The asphalt running crap and no big air or cool tricks is why i love mj better and will never go to a hwmtl show
No racing, don't care.
Who cares, both series are doing their own thing.
Great video though!👍
Seems a lot of people clearly care
What’s even weird? Is that at the every start of the show right? They sing the American national anthem before every start of the show and no trucks will perform their tricks because that’s disrespect. Usually Monster Jam does not do those stuff usually small Monster Jam shows would be doing that it’s kinda weird hey singing a national anthem at a monster truck show
The national anthem is always sung at all monster truck shows. Even Monster Jam.
@@Duskyplayinghisflute253 Every promoter does that
@@Duskyplayinghisflute253 every sport event has the national anthem
While the story behind HWMTL is fascinating, it is kinda teling that MJ are at least trying to get their act together HW seem to be going in the complete opposite direction. Their shows aren't very easy to watch or film, the glow effect is played out and the hosts are cringey rejected kid show hosts. While they have helped boost the Bigfoot name, it feels like they have also made the team less accesible to those who don't go to their shows. That being said, this tour would have gone under or remained niche years ago without the Mattel money since the MT community is starting to turn on them
I hate how hot wheels betrayed monster jam
20sith?
The sad truth!
Please make more videos
I know why they don’t put good shows because they just hire sometimes they hire like the good ones from like monster jam but sometimes they hire The like the people that just started monster jam or a monster truck they just like a random people and I don’t like it I used hot wheels so much. I love how the truck looked and now it’s just I hate it, they’re copying monster jam, the original one,
Catchy Theme Songs, I think not!
And zat is why I hate my little pony
They better not have sparkle smash or should I say sparkle trash
Hot wheels has worse than sparkle smash
Ok Eric Fording
You can tell by the footage the hot wheels tour ain’t shit compared to Monsterjam
