- On a nice windy day, in the mountains of Batangas, I review the all-new 2019 Mazda CX9 AWD Signature Edition. This is Mazda Philippines' top of the line offering, which sports an AWD drivetrain and a luxurious feel. I borrowed this car from Mazda Philippines, which made me truly see how luxurious and classy Mazda's current offerings are. Before this, the only Mazda I've driven was my Scarlet, which is refined but cannot be called luxurious. The CX9 is a totally different league.
It's a big vehicle, at par with most American full sized SUVs, but this one leans more towards the sport, rather than the utility. The engine is very responsive, yet the ride is supple and luxurious, absorbing all the bumps and potholes in our less than perfect roads. It's a large car, long and wide, making it pretty difficult to navigate in Manila's congested roads.
I'd love to get one for myself, except it wouldn't fit in my carport due to it's size.
It's not a signature trim. It's grand touring only. The hp is 250 hp for 93 octane petrol. The downside of this mazda are the side mirrors. Sooner it will not fold back.
Great review and with a great car but I don't believe that it has no good reputation as I've watched many car journalist and reviewers in the US and Canada, who are more knowledgeable about cars than ordinary consumer who only knows the big brands. These car reviewers has a very positive opinion about Mazda cars since the introduction of the "KODO DESIGN SKYACTIVE-ENGINE.Yes, no car is perfect even the German cars has some negative comments, but Mazda brand is becoming a very reputable meanstream brand with a beautiful design and interior and very reliable ENGINE as well. IIHS in the US has scored Mazda one of their highest safety picks every year and one of the most interesting (not boring) design.Hopefully you'll continue to reviewing all meanstream brand in the Philippines and make some comparison from each other base on their price, specs, interior and driving dynamics. This is where some Filipino consumers will be able to understand how competitive is the car market now. I don't believe anymore that Toyota and Honda are the best and reliable cars now, they're just a big companies.

I still don’t know how’s the;
Fuel economy
Driving dynamics
Torque
How many ways I can open the tailgate?
How’s the resell value?
What would my insurance company say?
Isn’t the heads up display a vision obstacle?
Is the logo in front just a logo?
Towing capabilities? If available.
Any programmable or universal garage door openers?
Are the seats ventilated?
Any downsides?
What’d you say in the quality resolution of the cameras?
Lastly ser, there’s a reason why the doors are heavy. I mean, you shouldn’t be worrying much about that doors, everybody can open it.
Salamat ser.
Good review....I'm sold.
Regarding the strut vs rod thing:
I was contemplating on whether to sell our Toyota Camry 2.5 G and get a Mazda 6 Diesel Signature........and I just noticed na prop-rod pa rin ang Mazda.
Hi sir. You’ve gone a long way from when you started. Congratulations.
By the way how was the airconditioning at the 3rd row in a hot day?
Thanks! I have a more updated 2021 CX9 review in the channel. It can get pretty warm at the 3rd row since there are no vents.
@@ReygansRides Oooh! bummer. Thanks for the response.
How many Km/L and does this also have the bose sound system?
I thought the Signature trim had Nappa leather and Rosewood accents?
Jason Michael Reyes it does, the tester had rosewood trim on the dahsboard and sides, and black nappa leather.
Bilis po siguro ng oras/araw and the CX-9 is so fun to drive, kaya understandable na gagabihin ang review mo. Ask ko sana, I really want this 2019 model, and bibilhin ko sya 2nd hand. I would like to ask your opinion whether this is a good move, coz, I am planning to buy a 2nd hand terra or a fortuner. Thank you and more power!
if for city and family use, ok ang CX9. More spacious, more comfortable. If for off-roading/harsh roads, go for the Fortuner/Terra. Please subscribe din sa channel!
@@ReygansRides matagal na akong subscriber sir! I love your reviews and your thoughts about cars makes a lot of sense.
@@lorenzbautista2793 thank you for the support! 😊🙏
May diesel ba ang cx9? Or cx8 lang ang meron? Salamat. Nice review!
So far CX5 lang ang diesel sa CX line up sa Pinas. Kahit CX8 wala pa din diesel.
Salamat Sir.. 👌🙏
Lol this is not the signature model. This is a 2018 GT CX9. The signature model comes with the nappa leather leather, rosewood accents digital instrument cluster among other things
Niceeeee cx-5 diesel next 😀😀
Still coordinating the schedule for the shoot...
@@ReygansRides oooo sweet
What’s the wading depth?
Do you feel vibration on gas paddle while driving this car? I have Mazda CX-9 2020 and I feel vibration on gas paddle and floor. Which is more prominent on idle. I took the car to service Center and they said it’s normal and characteristic of this car. I am not happy driving this car.
Are you in Drive while stopped and on e-brake? It may be the cause. Didn't feel any vibration when I was driving it.
@@ReygansRides yes i have 2020 cx9 signature its realy quite no vibration at all even less noise than other competitors ...
when AC kick on slight noise you heard form cooling fan but no vibrations...
May i know mileage of CX 9 How many km/l
Nice review except the one where you were driving the vehicle .. that is because the camera was so high up that all I could see was the back view mirror some part of the roof .. would have been better if the viewers could see the road clearly as this shows them exactly how the car is accelerating and moving around .. also would have been good if you could have shown the night time drive on this car .. thanks anyways ..
Thanks for the feedback! I tried mounting the camera on the sunroof, which didn't work, hence I didn't repeat it in my other videos. 👍
@@ReygansRides thank you .. 👍
How's the AC from the 3rd row?
John Gerald Lutero its comfortable. 👍
How does the new, smaller CX8 compare to this?
Space-wise, practically the same, given they have the same wheelbase. CX9 gets better power, sunroof, and larger wheels. Plus its Japan made. CX8 is made in Malaysia, but fit and finish is same level. Down on power, but interior appointments are more updated, especially in the 6 seater CX8.
@@ReygansRides Thank you
Is their air vents at the third row?
No vents on the 3rd row, but its not needed, since the A/C is really cold and the 3rd row passengers are quite comfortable.
Ok
The air vents for the 3rd row passengers can be found underneath the 2nd row seat. Two vents facing forward and two vents facing the 3rd row passengers.
Boss please review Hyundai Santa Fe. Thanks
Hanap tayo ng contact sa Hyundai for that. Sana soon magkaron.
Bakit di sinasabi kung meron bang diesel?
No experience wlang kalibog libog
3rd rows are more spacious in minivans
Quite expensive, and Mazda doesn’t have a good reputation here in the US
(except the Miata)...
Unfortunately, all cars here are expensive due to our taxes and duties. My Scarlet cost $40,000, pricey for a base model MX5 without the bells and whistles.
thats my barangay!
This is not a luxury vehicle as you keep sayin'.
filipino ,,pinoy accent wooww
not signature edition
Its the Philippine-spec AWD Signature edition.
Hindi po signature yan. Wala pong manunuod ng mga video nyo kung mali mali ang info ninyo.
2 variants lang ang CX9 sa Pinas. FWD sport touring and the Signature AWD. This CX9 is the AWD Signature. Signature has 20 inch wheels, yung mas mababa has 18 inch wheels. This is AWD which is the top Signature variant. The lower variant is Front wheel drive only. This is spec'ed with black leather lang, not auburn, which can be requested sa Mazda Ph. The interior trimmings is also in Auburn in this unit, which is also pang Signature. Panoorin mo ulit ang video at mag subscribe ka na din.
@@ReygansRides Correct 2 variants lang meron CX9 and thats top of the line AWD.
tama kau sir
