Cool to hear you had an LS430 too, I went the Lexus route for my second car and got an 08 IS350, considered a 430 too. These C5s are on my list of a second car because I need a manual in my life :)
Very good that you let the fuel pump prime and let the gauge cluster calibrate before you start the car. Hardly anyone does this on any car for that matter. A few things are going on in ACC mode before the engine is running. Here's a short list: 1. The fuel pump relay is energized for a few seconds, priming and pressurizing the fuel system for start. 2. The 5 volt wideband oxygen sensors are seeing 12 volt, heating up to read cold start fuel trims. 3. Everything from climate control to cooling fans are being energized for run cycle. If you do this on a regular basis, you may notice some things such as quicker fire-up because of proper fuel pressure at start; fewer failed electrical components like alternator, ignition coil packs, relays, sensors and fuses because of less voltage drop and amperage spike. I do daily a 2004 C5 btw. Hey, you'd make a great pilot.✈
You got a good buy on your Vette, I bought a 2003 C-5 convertible last year 50th anniversary model with only 27455 miles on it paid 23 thousand for it, I had to fly to Ohio to check it out, I was shocked how clean it was! Me not a trusting sole I took it to the local Chevrolet dealer and had them go over it from top to bottom it took them about 1and half hrs to do so, the service manager told me if it was 2003 he could all most put on the show room floor as a new car, Ahhh I Bought The Vette Lol. Your 20yrs old I'm 75 Lol! But I drive my Vette on the back roads just like you do maybe a little more aggressive Lol! In Joy your Vette I know I do, Best Regards Karl.

Middle age old people yes, if seen loads of videos on UA-cam of black/poc who own all different types of corvettes c5, c6,c7 there is a whole group in Florida who are mostly poc/black and they all own c8s or c7
My first vette was a C5 vert at 19 years old in 2010 😂 needa learn how to work on these cars if you gonna keep it a long time and beat on it, I've built like 12 over the last 10 years on jackstands really easy to work on. God I hate charlotte traffic nobody can drive out there 🤣not so bad in Raleigh

@@cozyboy5025 I’m 18 and I pay 350 a year for my c6. I have 6mo in storage winter and full coverage on it the whole time. You definitely have to shop around tho bc most of them I found were 1200-3000 just got lucky and found one cheap ig
