I doubt many people would call to report a fire without seeing any smoke or flames. They might decide to investigate, though. You are just more likely to lure in unsuspecting bystanders that are expecting a fire instead of a violent confrontation which could easily result in more victims in the end.

I was just discussing this case with someone the other day. Some of these stories stick with you and for me this is one of those stories for all the reasons you stated. One thing Dr. Grande doesn’t go into detail about here is when Britney was being interviewed by police, her family actually went to police and told them you need double check her story. Her family knew. I guess that’s why they asked her brother to go in the interrogation room. RIP Jayna! 😢 And I’ve never bought a single item from Lululemon and never will. From the CEO comments about heavy set women in yoga pants, this crazy bag-checking policy, 2 employees getting fired for filming thieves and the CEO defending it, I just think it’s an awful company that doesn’t care about employees or costumers just making money.

😢More like 1,000s; but also travel, great schools, well-off parents; many fantastic opportunities; entirely different upbringing - wouldn't be surprised if the rage Brittany felt towards an unknowing Jayna was pure jealousy - and, yikes! that person reports her and humiliates her, and thinks she can walk away so "superior", pristine, shining, and (I) get fired yet again? Not this time! Ambition to look good, look well-off w/o working towards a life-sustaining goal other than those superficial, outward signs of success, repeatedly damaging self-worth by repeatedly stealing other people's stuff MEETS pretty, virtuous goal-setting with a life plan featuring hard work, result-oriented ambition for a lifetime of achievement....and one decides to end it for both, effectively cancelling each other out, in one scheme of things. And one will eventually get out and live exactly the same way that put her in. At least she's off the streets for 20-30 yrs.; maybe by then we can all take a "smart" pill, and girls, a "pretty" pill .....

I have seen multiple specials on this case. A couple details I found interesting not outlined by Dr. Grande here is the size 14 shoes were taken from the store. Brittany tracked Jayna's blood around the store wearing them, then proceeded to place them back on the shelf...overconfidence was an understatement. This woman was delusional. She thought she was way smarter than she actually was. Another interesting fact is during the investigation, while doing a follow up, a detective was pulled to the side by Brittany's brother. He was confused as to how Jayna suffered such gruesome injuries and died, while Brittany was barely hurt. The brother seemed to be questioning out loud to the detective if his sister was involved. After this, he did not say anymore to the detectives and seemed to defend Brittany, but the damage was already done.
I always find these types of cover ups fascinating. One person is brutally beaten, stabbed, sometimes even shot fatally while the other person just has superficial wounds and ties themselves up. You would think people would want to do a more convincing job, but then again we aren't dealing with societies best and brightest. It just goes to show you that regardless of how narcissistic or psychopathic one is, it is much more difficult to inflict pain and damage on oneself, than it is on someone else.

The Apple Store employees should’ve been charged for being accessories!! They heard ALL of that and yet did nothing!? That is criminal!
Edit: apparently people didn’t actually listen to the description of what the Apple employee heard. Obviously they can’t be criminally charged in our system but there is the Tort of Negligence, where people have a duty to act and fail to, causing injury.
From their own words, in a perfect world they should be liable for negligence. If just one of them would’ve knocked on the door, opened it and asked if “everything was ok?” or even taken a minute to call the police, the lady might have survived.
Anyone defending this group of people is admitting to their own selfishness and cowardice. Society is doomed because selfish cowards abound.

I'm not a big fan of the jealousy explanation, but I think in this particular situation it may be involved... it looks like Brittany saw in Jayna everything she aspired to be, but wasn't able to achieve (or get from the fate or life or whatever). Like in the sense that e.g. the only reason why Jayna was not stealing was because she was already rich, so she cannot understand, she had her perfect life served on a golden plate... I doubt Brittany would go this far with a colleague similarly miserable as her.

  • @iminabrons

After watching this video my first and only thought regarding motive was a racial component,
i.e. Brittany thinks; "privileged white woman given an easy path through life", how come she gets to define me as a thief.
Why did I come to this conclusion?
Almost invariably when someone who knows the "monster" and is repeatably and sadistically beaten/stabbed to death by them, there is a very high degree of hatred towards this victim. A hatred built over years. Way beyond what in this case would be a superficial work relationship.

It's a crazy story, and it's a good lesson in what usually happens with those that show early criminal proclivities, - they escalate, - often to full on murder. If you look deeper into this, you'll see that this woman's entire path through life was stealing from and victimizing others.
When you prioritize the wrong things, and your greed far exceeds your grasp, there's only one way your life is going to turn out.She was cut slack due to her skin color which only escalated her criminal behavior,- which almost always happens.

On what planet do we live that any item in any retail establishment is worth risking your own life or taking the life of another? Retail clothing? Iphones? Perhaps one woman would eventually end up in jail, but certainly both could still have been alive. Materialism and judgement versus mercy and life.
