It still does but that line, “The thing that hurts the most is not having a moment to say goodbye.” That’s like one of the most universal truths about life. Be grateful for all your loved ones, friends, acquaintances and neighbors etc. One day they won’t be here anymore. Cherish the time we have with them. And when you can’t say goodbye. The next thing you can do is give thanks and hold those fond memories close. They’re in your heart and you carry them with you until you pass it on yourself. Life sure is a trip but it can be so beautiful too

RIP Irrfan Khan. His portrayal of Pi is one of the reasons this is my favorite movie. I first saw this movie at a very dark time in my life, and I know it cheesy and has been said many times before but it really helped me through a lot.
Really is a phenomenal story and a very inspiring one. Despite losing his family and everything else, he never made any excuses for himself, or looked at himself as some kind of victim, he became a humble and decent family man like his father was and a very warm and hospitable soul.
To my own Richard Parker: it might have been a very short time together, but I’d just like to thank you for being in that boat of darkness with me, many years ago. Without you I wouldn’t have survived. Thank you, we made it here, god bless you. Even if we’re not together, I wish you a great life.

Richard Parker didn’t look back bc then he would have to kill / eat Pi and he felt a blind loyalty to Pi for helping him survive on the boat. That was what Pi saw in him from the beginning, that he was worthy of grace even though he is a Tiger, a stone cold killer.
richard parker isn’t a real tiger, he’s a manifestation that pi created to help him survive. he’s a vegetarian and was forced to eat human flesh in order to stay alive and richard parker leaving once he found land was him letting go that part of himself
What i understood by dialogue 'In the end your whole life becomes and act of letting go, but it hurts the most when you dont get a moment to say goodbye' is that you will never get enough of your life there sometimes will be unfulfilled wishes, desires, but you have to let it go, but it will hurt the most if you dont give it a perfect ending. To not try doing anything is the most hurting thing you will regret in the end
after seeing my father pass away in front of me and my brother this movie really emotionally hits me very hard my father protected me and my brother alot i loved my father more then a son could really.. tears me up..

No fake promises no romance just pure emotional bonding. He met a girl online from his previous company a week back and since then i could clearly see the shift in priorities. I planned a small suprise for his birthday and i thought that it will be our last meet up and i will say goodbye to him and never see him again. But he turned me down saying its not right to meet me when he's seeing someone(its just one week they started chatting and never met ). First time he hurt me i never got a chance to say good bye . richard parker is just an imaginary projection of pi's personality, to cope with his mom being killed and eaten by the cook. and then pi had to descend into that savagery to eat the cook as well. it's really not that sad or literal of an ending

You get to choose for yourself which story you believe to be real. The story with the tiger or the story with people. Whichever one you choose should show whether you believe in God or not. To push back on what you say, id ask you, why would Pi cry for Richard Parker if he was never real? How can he describe the pain of losing him after everything was over so well. For this reason I tend to choose the story with Richard Parker But! Either way No one can say for certain what really happened and what didn't, which is the point about belief.
