  • Garry Marshall's credits read like a history of television. THE DICK VAN DYKE SHOW. THE ODD COUPLE. HAPPY DAYS. LAVERNE & SHIRLEY. And more. Here he talks about his life as a writer with interviewer Barbara Corday. Filmed on April 2, 2009.

I absolutely love this. The back stories of incredible people, right place right time, persevere, willingness to learn. Becoming so very successful. I wonder if he ever knew how many people he enriched with his talent? Amazing Life stories. Circle of life. I just love this.🎥❤️ RIP Garry Marshall

Garry inspired me to be a writer. While I'm not famous, nothing else gives me more joy than my work. I wish I could have thanked him in person.

This man was a genius and shaped some great television and movies into history. He’s interesting to watch and listen to his stories. Penny is the same way...they are both missed...nothing great like this anymore ... it’s a shame

I've been such a long time of Garry Marshall from TV to film as a child to my adult years. He's been so inspirational creatively as I have seen many past interviews with entertainment industry individuals who speak so highly of him especially from those whose careers he had started. I really wish I could have met him and picked his brain and yet this video fulfills those aspirations, thank you!

"Phil Foster was not known as a delightful man, but to us he was". Wondering if that had to do with all the cocaine Foster was supplying Paramount with! Still, he ripped Phil Spector to shreds so hey, can't be too mad at the loud incoherent mob guy.

Completely inaudible. SHAME on the Writer's Guild! How incompetent can you be? You're in the film business for Christ's sake, and you can't record one little interview so that it can actually be heard?

The audio level used to record was way too low. They pumped up the level when editing. That’s why we hear the annoying hiss. Nevertheless, to hear Marshall you have to raise the volume all the way. A sound check is essential. Marshall would have done it, if asked. He would have completely understood the need to get a proper level.

allen D The interview was about him, when you get to be important we will let you talk about you, or your next door neighbor

allen D is such a moron, he can’t figure out when you’re being interviewed about your life, you have to talk about yourself.
