Awesome video, and a fun project for my daughter and I. She is thrilled with it, and learned a bit about drilling, measuring, and sawing. Thanks for our new 'squirrel catcher!!!'
I made this with straws and cardboard, and honestly I’m very impressed with the result. Thank you, this was very fun
Subbed! Young people are often like caterpillars, most folks can't tell what colors their wings will be when fully matured. But sometimes you can see what a great adult a person is emerging into. Fun!
Great Design! I’m a General Contractor and need to get heavy parts and materials off of my upper supply shelves; but have not been able to find a grabber tool strong enough to fulfill my needs… until now!
I can adapt and customize the jaw a little bit for my needs & sleeve the trigger & make it 2 fingers long for a stronger lift.
I majored in physics, and always joined the crowds watching the senior M. E. Final projects… Great Fun!
I love the energy.
Brilliant ! 😍😏👌🖒
Added to my playlist for Crafts.
Grabber approves of this

Well done 👏 thanks for this video
Very nice, seems pretty heavy duty.
I had one of the cheap plastic ones and it didn't last long, course I only paid $1 for it at Dollar Tree. I wanted to make a stronger on and this seems like it'll do the trick. Thanks.
Great one, man! :D
Thanks!
I've NEVER laffed so hard during a DIY presentation! Great vid!
Awesome
Hello. May I know what is the length of the hole you made in 1:41 for both the 6-inch aluminium strip and 2 1/2 inch aluminum strip (for putting the hinge pin) ??
pretty cool! could probably fix some rubber tips to the end of the claw
Congratulations on the channel, very cool your videos success that like from mgf 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Finally I got this video 😁👍
Cool
Good build! …but pvc? I’m going for all metal. I’m going to use your idea but with salvaged parts. The claw scissoring mechanism from a hanging baby bouncer( it’s used to grip the top of a doorway), salvaged security cable( it’s almost the same as bike brake cable), and other parts I’ve hoarded. I hope it turns out as nice as yours. 👍👍
Ok. Bien didáctico .bien explicado
It sturdy and would last for years cerise store brought but at the prices of aluminum and pvc now it’s cheaper to buy a decent throw away pickup for cheaper. I went through these from picking up dead rats and random trapped dead animals
Keep up the great work!
Thanks! I will!
Dude I've been basically bed ridden for a week now with some absolutely killer back/leg nerve/muscle whatever it is pain. And with the way I drop stuff and how skilled i am to have it land just outside of my natural reach every single time. If I want the fumbled item then I must feel the pain. I would absolutely kill for one of those man, would I be able to buy one from you? Seriously right now as I hang here in the most awkward position on my bed trying to pivot without any issues, I came across your video. Because me just dropping something ends up turning into an all day affair as opposed to being equipped with some dope ass grabbers like that.
I'd be surprised if you couldn't get these things online, but if you can get someone to go to the hardware store for you, any decent one should stock them; or alternatively, a medical aid suppliers. Probably set you back 5 to 10 bucks. If you move around the house to any degree, it'd be worth your while buying 3 or 4, save you from having to carry one from room to room. A word of warning, don't be tempted by the _real_ 'el cheapo' version, unless they're the only kind the store has, and there isn't another store in 100 miles, HaHa! Seriously though, they might as well be the _definition_ of 'false economy' - grabbers invariably seem to fail after a while, even the good ones, but I'd be genuinely surprised if you got a week out of one of the "cheap'n'nasty' type you get in 'tat' shops!
EDIT; PS: I guess I just kinda 'scanned' over the first part of your comment and I missed the part where you said you had been stuck in bed for a _week;_ sorry, I'd assumed you were an invalid for a long time - are we still allowed _say_ that? Mind you when you look at the word written down, it does look a bit ugly in relation to human beings... "I am a man, goddam it, not a ticket to a Garth Brooks concert!"
Anyway, in that context, my comment probably comes across as slight 'necroposting' - well, let's hope so, if you get me! Still, I'll let the comment stand, on the off~chance that even if it no longer has relevance for you, ie, you got better, it might just still be a help for somebody...
K this guy is funny as hell
hahaha! Thanks!
This is pretty cool! Could I modify this to make one with 4 claws?
I'm trying to build a doc ock costume
Yes! You could definitely make it a 4 claw! :D
How wide does it grab? Can it be made to open 6"?
Did you also use aluminum "threaded post with screws" to attach the 90 degree aluminum pieces and if so what size pins did you use? Half inch pins?
No I didn't. I actually just used regular bolts and bolted them into the aluminum pieces that were sticking out of the poll. :)
how does the trigger work?
thank you
HEY IS THERE A WAY TO MAKE THIS EXTENDABLE??
Hi i am new to the channel and i have a question about rc stuff. I was wondering How i could easily convert a tethered rc car into an rf controlled and if i could just connect a transmitter to the homemade controller i made. Cheers.
Sadly there really isn't a very easy way to convert a wire car into a RC car Because you would have to build a transmitter and receiver. However you could Take a Transmitter and receiver from another toy car and use it! I actually have a video about doing that! :) ua-cam.com/video/E0JGThsk1dE/v-deo.html
Mechanical Ninjineer Thanks man. so i could connect the transmitter to my homemade controller?
I would have to see your controller to tell for sure, but more then likely YES! Yes you can! :D
How were u able to cut holes in the pvc pipes and holes in the aluminium strips ? I tried but I can’t cut through
I drilled them out using my corded drill and a bit for metal. :)
Have you tried making this with four grabber fingers instead of only two? I've seen one but cant figure it out as the hinges are crossed somehow.
No, I haven't tried that however you could add another level on to this design if you wanted to.
It would prolly haft to be a reverse of this. The trigger would half to pull the claws closed not push. If I had a little money id make one.
Patented?
Telescopic grabber??
Very creative but I’m not that good with tools, so I just bought one for $10
What did you use to connect the brackets to the strips?
I just used nuts n bolts to conect everything togeather. :)
Probably better qu’arithmétique than one you can buy
Get the new ideas and file for the patents.
Great video wish you had given specs in Description with part # to parts..if you would not mind I would like specs pm to me thanks
He gave details on every part. It may not be a good idea to try and make one if you are unable to grasp his detailed description of each part
Maybe late to the party, but my kid and I just made it. You can eyeball a lot of it--the PVC is super forgiving.
muito top
Second
When you were in school, you should have taken a fabrication class or two at the local community college.
any idea where can i buy the hinge pins at?
Hardware store.
FIRST
Fourth
where do you get these materials
Any hardware store will have them. :)
Gonna pass my bio exam!!
I cant believe it picked up the PVC pipe!
haha! Yeah, its actually quite strong!
Nice educational vid but $3 from Harbir freight
haha! Yeah but its not about saving money, its all about building it! Plus mine is more heavy duty. :)
Great job explaining the steps and keeping the attention of my ADHD self. Funny too . Make no re videos
Is this a tube
Its make out of pvc pipe. :)
Mechanical Ninjineer ok thank you
Can I use this to grab a snake?
I suppose you could if it has a rubber or cloth covered hand...but I wouldn't recommend it especially if its a wild snake.
Third
Type the materials
простая вещь из говна и палок собрал. молодец.
Boa ideia, bem construído...
Pena que você fala muito. Isso acaba aborrecendo e fazendo muita gente desistir de assistir até o fim.
Considere isso como uma crítica construtiva.
Where tf will I get that metal and driller
you're very attractive... I'm in dire need to make this !
Yeah, its a super fun build!
@@MechNinji I didn't see put an explanation for the trigger really I don't know how it works can give some schematics for this project? I need some more details thanks
