That mic is a Nauman TLM 103, a gift from the Norway Royal Band for her 12th birthday. She has used it in many covers since. This is home music room recorded usually in one take. Ivan Mendez on guitar. English is Angelina's third language of 4. This explains some for the slight changes in pronouncing some words when she sings. Many modern middle eastern singers use a technical term, "Melisma," which means replete in persian as a method to enhance both consonants and vowels. She, many of us "Angels" believe, is the best female vocalist to ever live. Many make the mistake of comparing her to others but she is just better. Incomparable, there has never been another with this young lady's talents. Our Princess of a thousand voices, the Queen of Jazz. A gift to us all.

This is one of my favorites from Angelina-and that is really saying a lot. It’s just an informal session with Ivan, her guitarist. No, it’s not rehearsed-as you noticed, she’s reading the lyrics. It’s impromptu. Once again, 12 year old Angelina gives me an informal cover that I like better than the original.
There’s a good companion piece to this with Ivan and Angelina again. The song is her cover of Adele’s A Million Years Ago. I think it’s one of her best. You feel every word of the lyrics.

Ivan Mendez was Angelina's (12y) guitarist in LA in 2018. In an interview with Alan Papier on his UA-cam channel, Ivan told the story of how the cover's came about. In a nutshell "Angelina doesn't have a wish list of songs, she decides spontaneously if she likes a song. After hearing a song she says great song and has downloaded the lyrics. OK, well, let's start, just follow me". Then the cover was recorded in one take, Angelina sang the song here for the first time after her arrangement without rehearsing beforehand. 👣💯 *AJ* 💯👣

Here, she takes on one of Rhianna's classic songs that was professionally
recorded after who knows how many takes. Angelina, on the other hand, is
sitting around at home and decided to have a little jam session with her
friend Ivan on guitar. Neither was fully familiar with the song as Ivan just
follows Angelina's lead as best as he can, while Angelina can be seen looking
for the continuing lyrics on a tablet at her side. While doing this, she totally
rearranges many parts of Rhianna's version 'on the fly' and it results in more
emotion laden penetration coming to the listeners than Rhianna. A top exec
at Stargate said that he knew of only three singers who could produce a production
ready song in 'one take' and they are Beyonce, Sam Smith........and Angelina.
I believe Angelina hears a song and knows after a very short time if not immediately note for note how she wants to sing it. Then she has the vocal tools to do it, and finally pours her whole heart and soul into performing it.

Many of these types of performance, you can see her looking off to the side or down and reading the lyrics off of her ipad/tablet. She's not too familiar with the songs, she just makes it sound as though she is! lol

Thanks for your reaction! She is only 17 years old today and from Norway. She signed with the label Republic Records just 14 years old, I think we can safely leave the promotion to Republic Record. Marketing will start when her full album is released later this year. There's only one EP with 6 songs she's released from RR now, and they haven't started marketing until the full album is released!. Republic Records know 100% what they are doing? I think a lot of people don't realize how much Angelina has done in her short life (17). She performed FIFA AWARD song, and performed in front of 40 000 people only 11 years old invited by Norah Jones. She was also specially invited by Quincy Jones to perform on his 85th birthday in the O2 arena / London. And so on goes the list... She has over 250 songs on UA-cam with cover songs and many originals. Angelina also plays piano and guitar.
The truth is that within a year or two she will be the artist for the big occasions. and not a "bare belly plastic artist" who tops a list for a week and is forgotten just as quickly. She already eats most female vocalists for breakfast, and the label Republic Records and the rest of the music industry know that too! Angelina Jordan has nothing to prove. When she sometimes belts is it because the fits in the performances. She sings to us only she can do!

That mic is BRUTAL. Only very few singers can manage to sound really good live in that one. It will reveal EACH and EVERY minor imperfection if there are any. AJ and Ivan selected this song maybe 15 minutes earlier, looked over it individually and then performed it for the first and (usually only) time while recording ... sometimes Ivan messed up and they had to redo it ... both were often only a little familiar with the song

Ivan Mendez. No you see her reading the lyrics of to the side. There is an interview with Ivan. The family would invite him round. Sometimes they would have a family meal then they would go to the room they kept for her music. They would discuss what they would try. He would go through it once maybe twice if he did not know the song. They'd press play. Then post. Her parents wanted to keep her passion for music so no repititious practices.

None of the above. Ivan Mendez has said that almost all the songs he played for her were one takes. He describes how she liked to work. The reason we can see Ivan’s reactions is because he is hearing her sing the song for the first time. Most of the songs she does during these years, if you will notice, she is looking at her tablet or phone to remind her of the lyrics. She would tell Ivan, “Just follow me.” So he did!

When they get together neither knows what song they will do. Angelina hears a song she likes and says ok lets go. Ivan has to learn it spur of the moment just like her. She is famous for 1 takes.

She has been quite lazy to learn lyrics I guess. She has been reading them even in some concerts. But it doesnt't seem to be any problem for the quality of her performances which to me seems a little bit crazy. But what do I know..
Ivan goes round to 12 yr old Angelina`s house they pick a music vid from YT listen to it once , then AJ pulls up the lyrics in English and sings her version of the song what you see is usually the first take .
At the concerts what you see her reading are her notes about the concert ,she sang 18 songs in a row was 16 yrs old and hadn`t performed live for 2 yrs , she recently said that she has written over 100 new songs and will shortly be doing a World tour .
