Great idea Russ! I'm going to use it (with nitrile gloves) on the belly of a Seneca II and 182. I might even try to round up a steam cleaner or hot water pressure washer, and be careful to keep a safe distance from the surfaces to avoid removing the paint with high pressure. Then spray the whole thing down with some expensive F11. The one they keep bombarding with me commercials about how great it is on everything. But I would have to break down and actually buy the stuff. And that, I just don't know about. : ))
Your tanks are filled with excellent cleaner, it's called avgas and a sponge. Every time you drain your strainer and tanks just put it in a container...when it's full it's time to clean the plane.
It is not actually that much oil. A very small amount of oil and grease will create quite a mess. However this is a continental engine and they leak all the time anyway
you do what ever you feel works best for you. it's your belongings... but use gloves and a wax applicator. oil / grease may eventually cause cause cancer.
bad idea to spray down with water, when the water drips and dries it leaves water stains & the ONLY way to remove those stains is to have your plane compounded.
And water can get into a variety of places you don't want it...static ports, bare metal pieces subject to corrosion, etc. Think I'd just use a couple of soft cloths, rinse periodically and wipe off the goop & mess. Seems like ideal product!
Thank you Russ - I used your method today and it worked as advertised!
You can also use Purple power Degreaser with a soft brush
Love from Pakistan watched this video years back now again here.
Cheers
Good way to swirl the paint 👍

This stuff works great. You don't need high pressure just a normal hose will wash it off. I have used it repeatedly without any paint loss.

Only issue is... the creeper... it invariably drips in my eyes.
I did this myself on the underside, it works great
Of my plane
Try Oil eater orange, which is very well on all the application
Hi Russ Wright here for Goop the super airplane grease remover that loosens and cleans.
LOL Love it!
Is it ok to leak that amount of grease?

Great tip!!
Glad it was helpful!
or fly through a thunderstorm
This is what the Marines need to use on there aircraft. There’s are always looking greasy 😂
mabe you did not here him he left the filler cap open and it leaked all over so it dont leak so
How much goop do you use per wash? And does it not harm the plane in any way? Thanks
To clean the entire belly probably half of one of the containers in the picture. Goop is not harmful in any way.

& if you do spray it down make sure you dry of all the water drips ! trust me this makes a BIG difference.
