Yeah, the only time you should handle a snapping turtle is if it's on the road, is at risk of being run over, and you have no better methods of moving it. The only safe way to approach them and to grab them is from directly behind. With palms facing up and a hand on either side of the tail you gotta grab them firmly by the upper shell, and, walking backwards with your entire body always behind it, drag it across the road _always_ in the direction it was already traveling. *NEVER* pick up a snapping turtle. They have deceptively fast and very long necks that can reach nearly every part of their shell and a bite that can easily remove fingers.

I only picked up this turtle since I knew it was a not a snapping turtle. DO NOT pick up/touch a snapping turtle!
