I know a lot of people don't like Blothar but imo he's the best replacement they could've gotten. He emulates GWAR's original style well without trying to be the exact same, and clearly still honours Oderus in a lot of their new stuff. The fact that he's played by one of the original Scumdogs also helps.
That's the beautiful thing about GWAR: it lives forever. You can pretty much put anyone in any costume (well, except for Brockie and Smoot) and they'll continue to essentially be that character they're given.
This
He's the best replacement 100%. He knows the OG style since he was the original bass player and can perform well.
Hes the original beefcake. Hes more than fine
Gear has been my favorite band since I was a kid. Seen them in bevis and butthead. I have had the luxury to see them over 30 times. And chill with them back stage. It's not that I don't like him. Or that he doesn't do a good job. But no body can fill Dave brockies shoes or Oderus Urungus condom. But he doesn't have the charisma. To me it a whole new band while trying to imitate the same style it's totally different. I have said they should be called Gwar with Blothar. Like Sublime with Roam.
Yaa not wrong we all should be super supportive to any new members as long as they are not dilholes with no chops that are not funny naturally no one wants to see gwar get takin over but one day all the o.g members will be reinvented in cosmos and we will have too vote new gwar characters in like presidents after that from what ive seen and learned its a side job but the lifestyle can speed up doom.what a wicked band tho aye all that crap said
This planet needs GWAR more than ever.
yess🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🔥🔥👺👺👺
Blothar had big shoes to fill and he filled them better than anyone could ever. Such a great live singer especially.
As a long time GWAR fan, I have to say this sounds absolutely fucking AMAZING. If it wasn't for Blothar, GWAR could have not found anyone to fit and be accepted like him.
Blothar isn't a worthy replacement imo. He sounds nothing like Oderous & yeah, I expect that. The new album sounded great as far as Metal goes but it doesn't sound like Gwar. I can't pretend that this is passable. 👎🏻
@@amisanthrope247 Blothar is the only acceptable replacement period. He is a GWAR alumni on both bass AND vocals. There is no possible way anybody else could have stepped in. Nobody can replace Oderus and Blothar isn’t trying to. But GWAR would be dead any other way homie. I am just grateful we get to have them around a few more years.
@@DaVanillaThrilla Good for you but it doesn't sound like Gwar to me. And I know who he is & he's not an acceptable replacement. For a different band? SURE! For Gwar? No f*ckin way.
This is so Awesome!!! Pustulus even has dinosaur shoulder pads to honour Flattus!
he is from the same clan as Flattus!
I love how Blothar (Mike Bishop, the original Beefcake The Mighty) does songs off of the first two GWAR albums.
GWAR fan since 1993.
HAIL GWAR!
One of the most underrated GWAR tunes. Practically forgotten on the Greatest album in the history of Music.
Absolutely
King queen , death pod , years without light . This whole album was gold .
RIP ODERUS
Ur Gr8 M8! HAIL ODERUS!!!
It was the first gwar song i learnt to play on guitar!
nice to hear that bit of yig creeping in at the end there
I miss Dave, but I still love Gwar! Sept 17 I will get to share my teen experiences from the 80's with my own teenager. I can't wait!
for my 11th birthday, in 1994, my grandmother said she would buy me a cd, i chose scumdogs of the universe, she tried to get my dad to bring me to a therapist
I love it today as much as I did 30 years ago.
For ages and ages Sick of You was my favorite song. And I think that has been surpassed by Phantom Limb.
The most sadistically underrated band of the metal world.
Long live Urungus! Long live GWAR! The best club show I've EVER been to!
Takes me all the way back to River Theater, Guerneville, CA. October 11th 1990. Not quite GWAR's first venture out west, but my first chance to witness the artists and spectacle that would form the sick tastes of my adulthood for years to come.
Wow! Been a fan since 90 and this sounds great! Lovin' the outro! House of Blues, Cleveland...LET'S GO!
I seen GWAR in 02 on my 18th birthday in Wv and it was one of the greatest shows I have ever seen. Can't wait to see them again.
I remember listening to this for the first time at a gwar show, I thought I ran through everything but hearing this live was special, being cross faded made it amazing it was sick
He did a really good job on one of their more epic songs
This is so good. Long live GWAR
I absolutely love this song and cannot wait to see them play it this November at the Town Ballroom in Buffalo!
That's awesome 🤘🏻 I'm seeing them in Philly at the electric factory October 30th!!!! 👍🏻🤘🏻
Can't wait for opening night on Sept. 16th at The National!
Worth the 13 hour drive! Always is
The National is a GREAT venue.
How was it
@@carterstone4064 It was Killer, hearing all the Scumdogs songs live was a real treat! I hope to post the full show next month or early next year once my channel is off probation! Hail Oderus
GWAR Forever, Forever GWAR!!!
Never will be the same.
Especially now that they all went WOKE
Except that badass Sleazy P Martini!! 😎🇺🇸👍
1990: Love Surgery
2021: Reassignment Surgery
How 30 years can change a person, huh?
oof, same
well, still on a waiting list, but still
King Queen
@@ronpaul1082 dude for sure. If we can get the libs to cancel GWAR then Oderus will definitely have to rise from the dead.
Brent wearing Corey's gear. What a great friend.
Just saw this live , it was just as good if not better , GWAR STILL FUCKING RULES 🤘🏼
RIP BROCKIE
honestly dave brockie would be proud of his band... nothing wrong with beefcake taking the vocals.. glad he stepped up
loved his vocals for X-Cops and think he does a fantastic job doing Oderus songs and technically have zero qualms with the original songs he has done...but i feel GWAR needs more diversity more singers more styles all the new songs feel too similar to be GWAR songs....
@@Didi_Meow_AND_theMEWS X-Cops vocals was Casey Orr not Mike Bishop. And Casey is much better than Mike.
@@darthsodious3000 You are absolutely right not sure how i mixed that up i think because the direction Bishop is leading the band in reminds me of Hellions or similar to that style of music
Fucking A
THE CHILD HAS DIED
HE MUST BE FRIED
YOU HUMANS ARE THE SAME INSIDE HAIL GWAR
REST IN POWER LORD ODERUS AND LORD FLATTUS 🤘🏼
This is awesome , long live GWAR
Seeing my first Gwar show next month, I'm sad that I never got to see oderus preform but its clear that Blothar is an amazing performer and I'm so excited to see them. Blothar performs the older Gwar song so well, I like his take on them. Does anyone know if they perform songs from Battle Maximus nowadays? Thats my favourite Gwar album and I would love to see songs like Raped at Birth and Madness at the core of time live.
Yes!!!!!!!!!!!
So nice to see a GWAR music video in something other than 240i 4:3.
💀
Gwar forever
big fan seen gwar 2 times with the old singer killer shows. i have my ticket for vancover in 2021 i cant wait for the show see you ther metal rules love craig.
"Big fan" calls brockie/oderus "the other singer" 🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄
you do not now how to read the old singer was the best .
THE ONLY BAND I WILL WORSHIP THAT HAS A NEW SINGER
There's obviously no replacing Brockie, but Michael Bishop is an awesome voice. Who doesn't love the Live Cool place to park!
Can't wait to see GWAR in Vegas this year. It'll be like my tenth time seeing them, but one of the first shows I'll have seen since these lockdowns.
I will be there, too!
@@josephkalica7130 See you in the pit!
Awesome ❤️
I'm getting over the new singer, hes pretty good. He won me over with that interview with fox or whatever, they need more stuff like that. Edit: I didn't mean for my comment to sound like it has a negative connotation.
Same, I don't even like fox but I sat and watched that...he was great ❤️
it took blothar sprayin me in the face with blood out of hit teets to win me over🤣
Meh
He's the original Beefcake bro , he fucking rules
I just got back from the crofoot on they're napalm tour. He replaced Dave p decently. But noone will fill Dave's grunginess
Hail Gwar, cant wait to see them here in Illinois if i can find a way to the show!
Hail Gwar ...nuff said ❤️❤️😀
Respect from Rome
Grande! Fa piacere vedere che ci sono altri italiani oltre me che apprezzano i GWAR.
Can't wait to get this on Dvd, 10,000 fushes blue ray and cd combo! HAIL GWAR!!
Yep I preordered as well. I got the vinyl and cassette to go with it. But the visuals of the dvd will be where it’s at.
best album
WOW!!!!!! It sounds so good!!!!!
Now that was a pretty awesome version!!!
FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT WE WILL NEVER DIE!!!!
This is love
Awesome still gd after 35years
Hey you guys answered my comment a while back as i had said i have been a fan from death piggy on up we cool back the day to see you guys as Gwar and X-cops. any way i have not giving you guys a chance after dave "R.I.P" just happen to see that you guys are coming Atlanta . on November the 12th well i can not stay away any more in fact i am bringing my friend with me we plan on dropping a tab er 6 so win me back GWAR !!!
All hail!
I wish Bishop would've become Beefcake again and assumed lead vocals and even continued to play base if he wanted. His Beefcake the Mighty was a fully fleshed out character with him in the role. Someone else could have certainly brought Blothar in as a new character; even a foil, ala Techno Destructo or other.
That would be really cool, and awesome character moment for Beefcake, but it’s a five person band and you would then need a new bass player
@@tp4bunghole108 I'm pretty sure Bishop would be able to sing and bass, but yeah, he might want to be hands-on, like Oderus was. In that case, Blothar could be on bass, whomever would don the skin. :)
My favorite song from that album.
Thanks!! 🤘
saw them in atx empire garage best show ever
awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Just bought this shows DVD 🤘🤘
From where?
Nevermind. Just saw the link!
Same! Best live reunion show ever! Stoked to see Uncle Sexy kick Techno in the ding ding in NYC!!!
Same…got the preorder and I added the record on blue vinyl and got the cassette as well. Of course I selected the option for the signed version.
@@NateB1976 nice I got the signed one as well. Didn't buy the cassette because I got the 30 anniversary box set with a cassette of the original scumdogs album.
YESSSSS!!!!
GWAR's Hotel California, their Stairway to Heaven..........Rime of the Ancient Mariner...........
Fantastic ❤
YESSSSSSS
This video has 100,000 views and I swear I’m 95,000 of them. Didn’t much care for blothar at first but I have to say they sound amazing still. I was hoping they would’ve brought in odorus’ even more evil stepbrother or something to carry the torch 🤣🤣🤣🤣 but blothar is phenomenal. Hands down the best metal band/act/experience of the 20th & 21st century. Hail gwar
I still miss oderus lord urungus legacy 🖤 👹
That lady on the drums is killin' it!
I am grateful Bishop is doing things in his own vocal style instead of trying to replicate Brockie's. Hail Oderus, Hail Flattus.
Hail Bishop
I mean I guess that's a novel take. Unfortunately bishops own vocal style is terrible
After 30 years of singing along with Dave, artistic style is irrelevant.
If you’re a fan of Bishop’s vocal style then you really need to check out his band from the 90’s Kepone. Get their album Ugly dance and thank me later. His bass guitar on the album is top notch as well.
@@driznitheraliznoodra Agreed and I wish he was edgier. Saw Oderus in NYC and he thanked us for killing John Lennon. Sleazy P is where it's at now.
GWAR should rerecord their first album with the current line up. No?
Doesn't matter they still fucking rule
I wish I knew how to quit you...
Fuck that sent chills down my spine. Was it the video, the nostalgia, missing Dave? Prob all of it but damn. That fn killed boys. Bravo....
WOO
OMG! THIS IS SO FUN! THE BEST LIVE SONG EVER! It totally stimulates me in my neither regions!
I've said it in multiple posts Blothar was the right choice
I cannot fucking wait for the tour , I have my ticket already . This Halloween show was so fucking amazing !!!!
Ayye I'll be there 🤘
Halloween 2021 will be the 4th spent in the bloody presence of GWAAAR! See you there at Irving Plaza NYC
@@Humongous420 Can't wait for GWAR Irving 2021 NYC!!!! Went to GWAR 2017 Warped Tour, GWAROWEEN 2 years Irving Plaza 2017 and 2018. Then I seen GWAR in December 28th 2019 at the Warsaw NYC, last show before COVID. GWAR always brings on an incredible show with many long lasting fun memories. :D EDIT - Hey I think I remember you in 2018 in the front of the line. You were laying on the ground with tasty cakes all over you. Still have that photo. You're cool and hilarious!
Awesome
Best GWAR cover band yet.
Nice and HEAVY!!!!
heavy sabbath in the beginning , love it
I'm SO glad that I got to see them before Oderus died... It's just not the same anymore. I heard my first album when I was in grade school, and this isn't what I'm used to. It's GWAR neutered, and I'm going back to my cassette tapes now...
Such a great song and awesome vid! RIP ODERUS 🤘
Man I miss Odorous
Cannot wait for the blue ray vinyl and the tour this is a ridiculous user to be a bohab! I'm fortunate enough to see Scumdogs of the Universe 5 times live
It may not be Oderus but this song still fuckin' slaps
\M/ HELL YES \M/ YEAHOOOYEAH !
Gwar é incrível
Are you guys ever coming back to DRAGON CON ? 🔥😊🔥
Oh shit!!!! Who knows the next song? I know I do. Yeah that’s right baby Slymentstra would be coming out and giving us a sexy little fire dance to this mofo!!!!
cool
Hell fucking yes
FUCK YEAH !!!!!!!!!!!!!
#Love
FUCK YEA 🤘
Historical Love Surgery is disturbing
No disrespect to Dave and his signing ability. But I do like how Mike has his own style and sound.
Maggot SpongeHole Effect.... NEEDS, Cannon w/Rice + Some BLOOD
Killer
Not enough crack smoking in this video!
Is that a Floyd rose on a Gibson sg?!? I don’t think I here ever seen that before! Great tune amazing performance !
I noticed that too and did a double take when he hit that harmonic. Like “wait…what?”
@@NateB1976 I know I just thought it was a bigsby then I fully seen it and double locker on neck and I was like shiiit it’s got to be esp then nope looks like epi or gibson
I know exactly what you mean. I thought the same but then he did a full on Dimebag reverse pull on it and….yeah that’s not stock Gibson. lol
It looks like a floyd FRX
Fuck yea Gwar I saw that live stream and got super loaded rip Dave
Seriously fucking killed it!
this guy has 2 of what Oderus had 1 of. .
To be fair, he is a good replacement.
I have all the albums and i have seen them live 3 times when dave was still on this stinking mudball planet. and he sounded way different live than on his recordings. he literally just screamed hte lyrics, almost impossible to understand, even though i knew most of the lyrics already.
but those shows. . i only regret not getting to see their earlier shows like back in the days of the gor gor tour.
based on what i see on the net, it seems that the original Beefcake is now Blothar and in a way, he does kind of look like Beefcake, if Beefcake leveled up RPG style.
I'll say it again again and again, bishop's vocals are great, its his stage presence that is lacking. Dave really made the concert more than just a concert, it was a real experience...and in all honesty he sounded like crap live the last few times i saw them with him. Like you could tell he was hitting the needle too close to show time.
I completely agree. Dave was a better lyricist too. I always look to the Jaques Cousteau lyrics as an example. Like how high was he when he came up with those brilliant lyrics?
Who gives a fuck tho , Brockie said this band will carry on when all of them are dead
