    Watch my other "Jackson Heights" video here : • Little India - Jackson...
    "Jackson Heights in Queens epitomizes the city’s most ethnically diverse county when judging by the countless cultural distinctions of its residents. Though the neighborhood has a large population of South Americans and East Asians, it is the concentration of South Asians who comprise the majority. Here, the heap of Indians, Bangladeshis and Pakistanis have founded a home of their own. To those paying attention, Jackson Heights will prove an authentic slice of South Asia in New York City’s largest borough.
    Jackson Heights is situated in the northwestern portion of Queens. It is bordered by nearby LaGuardia Airport to the north at Grand Central Parkway and Elmhurst to the south at Roosevelt Avenue. To its west is Woodside, cut off by the Brooklyn Queens Expressway and at its east you’ll find East Elmhurst drawn mainly by Junction Boulevard. Despite Jackson Heights’ large size, the E, F, M, R and the number 7 Subway lines serve the area at its southernmost border only running along Roosevelt Avenue, while the Long Island Railroad stops in nearby Woodside. Still, the neighborhood is among the most walkable."

    I love seeing this. We have this in many parts of UK. After living in an area like this, I moved to a white affluent area. It was just for a change. It's so boring and all they do is walk their dogs and clean up after them. I miss the liveliness and deliciois foods.

    Damn I use to love Jackson Heights, all my friend and I would hang around there, Loved to eat at my favorite Jackson Diner, and Indian Taj, I have not been there in years, but I did hear a lot of Bengalis came over and took over as well, with many fish restaurants, I used to buy Indian music from Jackson Heights, every tape that came out, I would buy it, then it was Cd's lol, but away from Jackson heights I would not say it is safe or clean, but it feels great to be Indian and hanging out in Little India, I am in Nj now, and they have Iselin, but it is so weak lol....

    This neighborhood looks so lively and animated. People are always walking about and doing something. The food, the exotic clothing, the jewelry, the art, books, toys, everything. There are even hair salons and stationary stores nearby and temples for meditation, relaxation, and small festivals too. People seem to be enjoying themselves to the fullest. Springtime there must be great. This shows that you can have fun without drinking or going clubbing. Now, if there was a beach there, it'd be even more fun and more crowded, with tourists coming there from all over the world.

    Veganism and vegetarianism started in India, the problem with the present demographic is that these cuisines are not represented the way they used to be back in the 90s, without trying to sound pro-indian, but the Indian demographic tends to be better educated, and were only allowed to emigrate under the H1B, the "genius" Visa, and so are usually better educated, and since then have moved to more affluent areas, particularly in the suburbs,
    there is a reason most Physicians are of Indian descent, which means they now live in the suburbs. This is little Dhaka or little subcontinent but not little India, kind of a shame. Richmond Hill, not Jackson Heights for food

  • @3333sweetie
    @3333sweetie 2 роки тому

    Jackson Heights has attracted numerous peoples there for visiting, living, touring, etc., especially the Indian/South Asian strip because it's like being in South Asia without actually going there physically. Maybe this explains why many people of all backgrounds(as shown in this video) pass by there or shop there, be they South Asians themselves, or Southeast Asians like Malays, Thais, and Eastern Europeans such as North Macedonians, Serbs, Bulgarians, and Russians, as well as Armenians, Georgians, Iranians, Spaniards, French people, African blacks such as Somalis and Kenyans, or Guyanese people, gypsies, Arabs, and of course, Americans of various races and backgrounds. This place has become an attraction from all over the world and that's terrific. The sights, the people, etc., all make it fantastic. Shows multiculturalism and diversity are great if done correctly and bring the world together like never before. And as said before, if there was a nice beach nearby, as well as a big park, then it'd be even more crowded in the hot summer months, replete with laughter and fun, and best of all, it's be this way with not as much drinking and clubbing, as this neighborhood is good, clean fun for people of all ages to enjoy so it'd bring out the best in everything and everyone. A 24-hour party with a family friendly atmosphere is what describes Jackson Heights in a nutshell.

    I live in Los Angeles. First time visited New York and went to Jackson Heights for dinner. This place was so dirty. I see Indians and Bangladeshis blaming each other but it is the responsibility of all South Asians to keep their neighborhood clean.
