I once did a speedrun from 1500 to 1200 in like an hour
Chabge ur pfp
@M H said the dude who has no pfp
That’s my kind of chess.
Dude, you have a bright future in the chess😉
you noob
Imagine being so good at chess you get accused of using an engine when you’re barely paying attention to the game
He is an engine himself so its somewhat true
@@voroboosher
He's like the Jerry Miculek of chess.
@@manictiger Now I wanna hear him say GET SOME!!! when he takes a piece
Keep in mind he's also playing faster than an engine can generate moves lol
When does this happen?
“Hi hikaru”
“Checkmate.”
“What?”

lmao
😂😂😂
XDDDDD
That’s funny as fuck
LMAO that's literally 100% of the video summarized into 4 quotes HAHAHAHA
*opponent makes a natural development move*
Nakamura: He just made a big blunder I'll mark that as a win
Gg haha
'Mate in 143 moves
This is honestly the kind of content I want to see. Regular folks like me getting destroyed in optimal ways.
Yup digital masochism is a thing these days
1364: nice a 1210 easy win
hikaru: ok easy checkmate
1354: WTF
@@timelocked1366 haha, the goal being to last as long as possibel
Yeah man
Semi optimal. If Hikaru could play optimally, he'd be one of the first to beat Stockfish ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
If you ever feel useless, remember that there was losses counter in his speedrun
I still feel useless

Dude: **plays e4**
Hikaru: aight I'll mark that as a win
lol, the story about Hikaru being "terrible" at chess when he started is pretty funny, because he won a national championship in first grade.
wtf bro another et
He began at 7. And Florida schools go 9 at first grade. That's 2 years of leeway.
HYPERSze if you were 9 in first grade you started school with some sort of handicap friend. i was 6 in first grade with everybody else in florida
HYPERSze if you start first grade at 9 years old you’re graduating high school as a 20 year old lmao

I do speedrun everyday. From 1300 to 1400 and back.
Guys, you are having a bright future in the chess😉
What's your rating now out of curiousity?
I do 400-500
Wow lol. I started at the standard 800 lol now im down to 600.
"I don't quite see the quick checkmate"
Checkmates 5 seconds later wtf
ㅇㄷ
Oof
Just another day of hikaru playing chess
there must not have been a forced line but the guy just defended pretty awfully.
It was because he walked his king into checkmate. And before it that it wasn't there
23:25 the reason Fried Liver attack is called this way comes from the dish Fegatello which is liver fried with onion. When you cut liver in thin slices and start cooking it, pieces get heated and kinda "jump" on your pan. The analogy is that black Kings gets attacked and he jumps all over the chess board just like liver jumps on the pan while being fried.
ok
ok

I felt the same way. Like the other guy said, I never really assumed chess gm's could be so chill.
@Jo Smo true, i was surprised seeing him the first time
@Jo Smo that was also most chess players in my school chess club (from memory, it was like third grade).
33:27 I love when people gets pissed off like this LUL
Nakamura send a heart to brazil
haha he did!
Nice!
aeeee
Thanks for the heart 😔🙏. Here's one heart ❤️ from Brazil 🇧🇷 🌴 to you 👉
Come to Sao Paulo, Brazil, Nakamura
When i first discovered Nakamura in a chess match in UA-cam, I thought he was a silent and less word type of man.
Oh boy! How wrong i was. He talks a lot😂
At first I thought he was a terrible gm because Everytime I saw a clip he blundered his pieces.
@@garrysmith1029 “terrible gm” is hilarious to me

"My boy XQC" man have they come far. Pogchamps!
that beginning scared the fk outta me lol
ive been looking for this comment.
This is the first time i saw "speedrun" term used on chess video
Yes!! Actually requested for exactly this in your bullet speed run! Thank you!
ahhhh now i know why i always loose, its because im playing vs a GM smurfing from 0-3000.. I finally get it now..

21:58 Dude barely even glances at the board for less than a second: "Oh that's just checkmate."
Me: WTF!! How does a human brain even work like that?!
Pattern recognition probably. Playing so much chess for most of your life can probably do that. You'd be amazed at the things the human brain can do.
You should look at his puzzle rush speeds. He doesn't even glance at the position before finding the right move.

This right here is why I started watching Hikaru. This type of content. Watching him casually decimate players I usually struggle or lose against. The speedruns - especially this one and the original bongcloud speedrun from early 2020 - are his best content to date imo.
And the views really show that a LOT of people agree. Even with all the new content since he’s blown up - the pogchamps, famous guests, 4 player chess, etc - it’s this stuff that still has the most views.
It’s really this type of content that made him unique and intriguing, and eventually famous IMO.
He’s arguably the greatest online speed chess player ever. He’s been doing this since the 90s when it first started, and he’s been the dominant force ever since. To be able to watch him stream his play, while explaining the moves, is such a privilege.
5 years ago watching you play I would have never EVER thought I'd hear you say, "I'm trying to sauce him"
That outro scared the crap out of me, holy moly
36:30 you could win the queen with the knight check ;)
I saw the same thing. Cool to see something this beast doesn't.
He said he missed knight E8
and every-1 misses stuff in a fast type game Gm or not we all still human
It's also dif playing from watching
Plus he talking to his fans at Same time lol
Yeah, I saw that too especially since Hikaru said it during the stream lol.
Been waiting for a video like this. Amazing
You playing at then beginning and me needing to pause to figure out all your tactics going on and you talking like it’s nothing. In awe man.
LMFAO his reaction to his opponents move at 29:37 is hilarious, such a futile attempt to survive, I probably wouldn't have even noticed the humor in it if he didn't laugh
thanks for helping me out to improve my chess.. because I always scared to make a different move..and always play in the same line everytime I played.. :)
Hi Hikaru, I am your biggest fan! I was about to quit chess but you are the one who inspired me to keep playing. I was really bad at chess when I started, but eventually, I won the annual high school chess championship. You are my favorite chess player of all time because I love the way how you perceive the game and you are absolutely hilarious. Don't ever quit playing and I wish I could see you outside one day. I am your biggest fan from Myanmar!
38:45 nakamura holding his laugh is priceless 😂😂😂
You think you can put the music playlist in the description? The song at 36:00 is awesome.
Hikaru, distracted: "Oh I gotta move, sorry. Oh it's just checkmate!"
His opponent: "After thinking for over a minute, my brave opponent found a brilliant mate in 1"
Time to see Nakamura smash some noobs...
Nice man another speed run I'm excited!!!!!!!!!
True story, to this day Hikaru still receives royalties from Intel for their hyper-threading technology which their researchers conceived while watching Hikaru play a chess simul.
1:12
That dude probably sat there for about 20 minutes thinking about where he went so wrong lmfso
I saw this man in championship games but didn't think he was so talkative and entertaining. Ma boi hikaru got yourself a new sub.
This guy is so good that i can't think that fast to keep up with his moves
Hey thanks for teaching me more about chess. Right now I'm a 900 in the 2 min/1 blitz. I'm improving little by little.

How come his speedrun starts at my rating? 😂😂😂
it's so surreal watching Hikaru play coz it's like, you see him make the move and you go "oh yeah, of course that's the best move", but 9 times out of 10 finding that move yourself isn't going to happen lmao
I was not expecting that at 11:33 , and i loved it.

I watch these and get pumped up, go play 3|2 games. Sames results as before.
Part 2 please I love it
Hikaru, in settings, you can set player with minimum ranking, that is your ranking will be increasing much faster. Why are you not doing it?
You gave me autism reading that
this is 100% no skip, there's other speedrun categories where elo skipping is allowed, but Hikaru is a 100% runner.
classical speedrun next please
Thats gonna take forever lol
Why would Hikaru need over 15 minutes to beat 1200-2000’s. Biggest waste of time I’ve ever heard
I forgot that sarcasm seems to be a foreign language in the chess world, my bad guys
Swanny OTB Bro if that was sarcasm then props because I’ve heard people say that before hahahahaha
Its so satisfying to see him punish dumb aggression by his opponents
Straight up bullying this 1300's
11:35 xD
5:20 Hikaru dead wrong about the Bruins-Blues game 7 result 😂 and he was so confident in his prediction
dude how is this guy playing chess and talk at the same time. i m so inspired
digging that synthwave thumbnail
Good to know that he didn't become good immediately when he started playing lol. Hard work pays off 💪.
I wonder how long did it takes until it becomes "Hey, im pretty good at this"
Haq Amar I’m guessing around 4 or so years until people kind have a moment of clarity with chess
He won his first national competition when he was in first grade.
My speedrun was from 1600 to 1400 and it took 10 years...
Dude, you have a bright future in the chess😉
just a bit more practice you will achieve 1300 nice job
Wow what a nice side to see of him
I would never have thought he was so chilled and laid back and normal like that
Plus wow on the chess side
I’ve been about 1200 for the last 2 years and I ain’t going anywhere ha ha
This guy is incredible
Thank god for this run 🔥🔥
Still amazin player, but still really bad singer :)
What is a silicon enhanced player? Is that an engine user?
ThunderLips Yes.
My heart broke when he mentionned Byron. RIP
Extremely satisfying to see superGM crushing 1200s 😀
3:14 he just played for 10 seconds
That kpell42 clown closed their account same day. Hahahahahahaha
8:22 Hikaru’s early celebration
It's called the "Fried Liver Attack" because the one who first used this I think it was a captain or whatever, was eating fried liver when he first saw it. I'm not kidding. I learned it from a footnote on a page in Bruce Pandolfini's "Traps and Zaps" book.
why is it 1400-1600 players dont make those stupid blunders when i play them? lol
They do, you just don't notice because you're not a super GM.
Can't get over how much of a steamroll the game at 3:03 was
It lasted 20 seconds lmao😂
21:57 Hikaru waits 1 min for the check mate to taunt the dude
Pretty fly man... That's the mood. GOAT mood.
Next speedrun to 3000 in classical time control (y)
the time it would take in order to do that would make a video of a few games for like 2 hours

My current rating is about 1250. I wish those guys blundered like these ones do. More likely I just dont see it, let's be honest. But some of them it's just like... really?
i feel like a stronger players more likely to lead their opponent into a position where theyre more likely to blunder, rather than you not seeing it. or both, i have no idea im only rated like 900
Great video! But totally wrong on the Bruins Blues prediction game 7 lol.
Hikaru is a great player and great man, funny and nice!
