I have been watching sims content online for countless years, from many different creators from all over the world and each with their own building or gameplay style... this is probably top 3 in my favourite buildings I've ever seen on youtube. It's just gorgeous in every way. You can just tell how much you love it too!
I was one of the lighthouse requesters, and this is above and beyond my expectations!!! You fixed my sim slump. I love the story, and instead of making the wife hate children im gonna get a "hates dogs" personality trait mod and have the child bring a dog. Its the only thing he has left that he loves and obviously she's not gonna say no, but the tension is there and it'll be perfect!!!!! Thanks Dawn
I actually like that you put the coat rack and stuff in the “back” of the house. Cause I feel like these are homebodies and probably don’t have a lot of visitors so they probably don’t leave their house very often. Except for when they’re going out to the light house or fishing, which I imagine they use their back door for. I really love this build. There’s so much personality and it works so well. The floor plan makes sense and flows really well, even tho it’s not an open concept build. Sometimes I get stuck with smaller builds, cause too many walls makes it feel claustrophobic. But cape houses are meant to be this way and you really did such a good job of making it feel homey but not cluttered. I live in New England, so this style of home is pretty common along the coast here. I think you definitely nailed it! Can’t wait to download it.
Somehow the sims story reminded me a bit of the series anne with an e. Even though the plot and circumstances are very different, with a pair of siblings taking in an orphan to help them with the farm. I love the building by the way ☺💙
It's not different at all lol. Just a couple of details, i.e. the couple is married instead of siblings and it's a lighthouse not a farm. It's too similar to not have come from the show's inspiration.
@@MVinyM idk why she didn't just say it was inspired by the show. I don't like when people take credit for other people's ideas. It says a lot about a person's character, imo.
I was curious, so I googled, it could be either Yaquina Bay or Hecata Head, the fact that Oregon has two different lighthouses with urban legends about missing girls is …uh…something. This is such a beautiful build!
Yeah, I was thinking about Yaquina Bay... I remember there being something about that on the tour. You might be right about Heceta Head, but it would have been the home, not the lighthouse right?
I’m an Oregon girl too ☺️ The lighthouses there are so beautiful, but after living on the East Coast for so long now, I can say there is definitely something special about the ones here too.
I am completely in love with this build. It is soooo beautiful and I can't wait to make a couple to live here!! I see a challenge for my daughter and I with a fisherman light house keeper and his proper wife who loves to paint, knit and do crafts! So fun!!! thanks
Maybe it's because of the tall part on the side but I kept thinking of the Edith Finch house when you were building this. That would be a great challenge for you to do, because it's kind of a shanty town house. All different rooms added at different times, look it up! 😁
This is easily my favorite home of yours! I live not far from a lighthouse, and I love to visit it and take my children to visit. This is so realistic! Your thumbnail just caught my eyes! It’s beautiful and realistic. I love it
This is lovely and so full of details, the landscaping is just great. The storyline you came up with really makes me want to play in this house and i'm like you i never play, i just build things. Thank you so much for this
WOW! I adore this lighthouse build! Its so so pretty & unique. Love the neutral coatal furnishings too. Your coastal builds lately are just fantastic, I can just imagine myself living in one of these houses by the ocean! Also really like the storyline of the prim & proper lady and her lighthouse keeper husband who's a little more rough & rugged and i can imagine him with a few more wrinkles by being by the ocean and the salty sea breeze on his face.
Your interior decoration skills are amazing. Amazing. I'm a freaky when it comes to this stuff. Almost every house I download, I end up redecorating the 80% of those houses, because the colour palette they use is everywhere. They end up using the first thing they find......... But yours, none. You have a sense of composition and color distribution very, very solid. A very uniform stytle.. as it should be.
Paintings capture the "Feeling" of the house where as images show you just the house. You're getting the emotions and inspiration that the artist was feeling when they painted it. Makes perfect sense to me that you'd prefer those over images. Either the paintings you are referencing are superbly well done, or you're very attuned to art, or both! Either way, I'd say that's a great thing.
I’ve been watching Sims content for 5 years straight. I’m a console player and have always dreamed of the day that I could finally get a laptop or a PC so I could play to my hearts content and download all the amazing builds I’ve seen all these years and even though I can download the builds to my game, its just not the same. I always want to change something about the builds and have different ideas for them ,and when I say always I mean ALWAYS! But this time its different, sooo different that I cant even believe my self. This is the most amazing and beautiful build I have ever seen . I wouldn’t change a thing or add a thing. It makes me want to jump through the screen and be there for real life. Thanks for the amazing build and for always giving your best in every single video you upload. I always knew you where an amazing sims builder but today you went up and beyond. Keep up the amazing work.
I love the storyline of this build, gives me major Anne of Greengables vibes! The build is absolutely stunning and I look forward to your CC coastal build as well, you really nail this style perfectly! 💜
Ah!!! I found you!! I just got into sims 4 again after years of not playing, and was looking for this sims 4 creator of houses that has the best interior designs like; that make it looks like really lived in. Glad I found you again!
WOW! I don't think I've ever clicked on a video so fast after just seeing the thumbnail! This is amazing! I have to download this. It's too good to pass up!
not to undermine your other builds but i think you are absolutely right! this amazingly beautiful. please bring more builds inspired by paintings. it's so so beautiful
Idk how this appeared on my suggested watches- but here it is. And I am in love! I (not a writer) started writing a story- and the main character has a home with a lighthouse, not an official career for the character, but a home that has this beautiful lighthouse as part of it. And all of the kid relatives who come to visit and are enamored with the house and the lightroom and all. I have a LONGGG way to go but this Sim home is so fantastically close to the picture in my head. ❤❤❤❤
I've had this in my Watch Later playlist for ages, and was so happy to finally get a chance to sit down and watch it. This is just beautiful! Homes which make use of unusual landmarks or features are always my absolute favourites, and this was no exception. I agree with all the commenters that you can tell this is one of your favourite builds! :) Beautiful as always xx
This reminds me so much of the short play I studies in English class back in high school called the "Lighthouse Keeper's Wife". Only of course this is MUCH happier then that tragedy was
I’d love to see a less country-looking coastal 😍 The style here seems to be leaning more towards country/ranch than coastal, especially the kitchen. A modern coastal would be fantastic 😍
Was a big sims fan but lost total interest 6 months ago...and girl ! your tumbail worked on me ! It looked magical and I watched your video (beautiful build too btw) ! Thanks ! Now I just want to have this build and create a new family for it !
This really looks like it belongs on this lot and it fits snugly into the landscape. The house is simply gorgeous, and the lighthouse beautiful. You've put so much work into the landscape, too, and it really shows. Most of all, though, I loved the story of the family that you imagined to live here. Everything just comes together to form a home, with a place, a family, and a story. Beautifully done! 🥰
I haven't wanted to download a build so much in a very long time. One of my favorites! I won't change a thing about it! I wish I was as talented as you. You're amazing!
I know that others have already said this but after following your content for so long, this is one of the prettiest builds I’ve seen on your channel! I love the storyline and everything ❤️
I love this build! I am no builder but I can tell the large amount time you put into this fine build. The story to go with it is original and inspires me to play the game, which I haven’t felt in a long time.
Omg ur like the best Sims 4 builder that i know ofcourse.Your builds are so lovely and my type of builds it's my style.Especially clutters and plants.I find your voice very calming and so when I watch ur videos i alway have my volume up.
You're the best! The build is amazing, and the storyline that you thought, just made me want to open my game and create this family immediately. I loved it so much.
Love the Americana, beach’s vibes - reminds me of the outer banks here in my home state of NC. There are quite a few unique lighthouses along the coast line ❤️
Such a beautiful build as always, Simlicy! But while you were talking about the story behind the family that you imagined living here, I was totally reminded of the Netflix show “Anne with an E”! It’s such a similar story to this one, and the family sort of live near a costal area, so I totally recommend you watch it!
I think she did and just changed a couple of small details. Not sure why she'd claim it as her idea though. It's not unusual to take inspiration from media.
In Australia we have a show called round the twist. Mysteries for a family who live in a lighthouse. I love rounded walls but they're so buggy at the moment. This build is stunning Dawn you've done such a wonderful job.
I know this build was like 6 months ago, but I've been on a sims hiatus and only got around to watching this now. Incredible atmosphere here, truly. I do have to say though, doing some gameplay even just for a couple of days might change a little the way you build. It might not be a bad idea to do a dive into live mode every bigger expansion. Even if you playtest builds, sometimes on longer gameplay sessions you notice things that aren't maybe too optimal, like in tight spaces having too much clutter done by MOO can make sims just teleport all around the place and even more when there are multiple sims on lot. It's not really the fault of the build as much as just the routing AI not having any patience. This will almost always also result in routing related LE's and the T-pose reset happening more and interrupting gameplay. And talking about the jumping camera... Having terrain, platforms (especially platforms) and some live edit objects make the camera go crazy. And yes, it does effect gameplay as well, you really gotta find the right angles to play from where the camera doesn't have to go through that area to avoid it happening. Hopefully these tips may help either you or someone else who mainly focuses on building. That being said, love this build and I will definitely be adding it to my main save file just for immersion and beauty, even if I won't be playing in it. ♥
I really love this one. I love lighthouses as well so this hits all the marks for. I also really like the backstop fir the sims. Normally I don't care about that as much but I'm really drawn to this one and the gorgeous build. I'm definitely going to download this!!
This build is really beautiful. It is probably one of my favorite ones that you have done so far. It's really different. I can't wait to download it in my game. Thank you for such wonderful builds :)
This build is stunning! I love all the detail and thought put into everything; it looks properly lived in too with all the decorations! Also I feel that if the game looked more realistic it would become very difficult to tell whether this was a photo or something from the game. Very well done!
This build is beautiful! When I was a kid I also went to the same lighthouse in Oregon you’re talking about, idk what the official name is but I always called it the haunted lighthouse
What a beautiful build! Was blown away by how perfectly you matched the inspiration painting. I definitely want to download and explore the storyline you came up with :)
