  • Art Block can be a pain. Or just not knowing what to do in general. I show what helps me: paper tearing. I give a number of examples and simple ways to proceed. Not all necessarily to create great art, but at least to get going again. Once you’re back in the saddle , you can depend on your own creativity again. Hope this helps.

    Materials
The art materials I use in the videos are not sponsored.
I prefer to work on multi-purpose paper, more info in this video: • How to choose the RIGH...
In almost all my videos I use with Winsor&Newton Galeria acrylics, if not, I will say so in the video.
Other materials I use are in random order: 5, 10 and 40mm brushes, palette knives, acrylics medium, Ecoline liquid watercolor, Lyra color pencils, Lyra soft pastels, oil pastels, Stabilo color pencils, paper palette pad and basic masking tape. I also use household items like a permanent marker, scrub sponge, scissors, paper towel, and so on.

As always, lots of takeaways. If nothing else, tearing up newspapers can be very therapeutic. And you are right, Albert, above all: have fun. 😊

Thanks, Emmanuel. I often feel like a one year old on its birthday. Just happy tearing up the wrapping paper, ignoring the present in it. Therapeutic fun. Laughing about myself. Have a great day, Albert

I really like the framed torn pieces around the 10:11 mark. A lot of food for thought here to keep the created juices flowing. Happy accidents are always fun.

There is a story that Lee Krasner was frustrated with her work and tore a bunch up and threw it on the floor of her studio. She came back the next day and loved some of the patterns and was inspired. I don't know if the story is true but I do something similar when I have pieces that just don't sing.

Thanks, Lady Farmer. Funny story. Yesterday, I picked up the sheets and didn't do it right, and a few pieces fell to the floor. I loved the pattern but forgot to put the picture in the video. So, thanks for sharing it this way, Albert
