Hello. You guys wanted an Advance combo video and here it is. This is a video response and part of a continuation of my Tamer Guides. This video covers some advance tactics that you can make use of in your Tamer play style as well some tips regarding the use of your Block skills.

In this video I cover a stun lock combo that I often use that works very well. The basis of it being...
Flash-BJ-Tremble-BJ-LBP-BJ-Grapple.
I've also went over optimal damage debuff that you can make use of. And I cover the concept of canceling skill animation into BJ (Bolt/Jolt Wave). There are some skill animation that you can cancel with Shift+LMB or Bolt/Jolt Wave, like the ones I listed in the video. Doing so would often result in instantly casting Jolt Wave, which can be useful for optimal skill animation canceling into bursts and goes great with chaining LBP (Legendary Beast's Power) with another BJ (Bolt/Jolt Wave).
The most important thing I covered in this video is "Void Traveling". Which is preemptively casting the skill Void Lightning and having your Pet travel with you until you stop, making your Pet perform Void Lightning without having cast it making you stand still for 1-2 seconds. This allows you to stay safe if you were to get caught in a CC or combo. It also allows you to freely pressure your opponent, because the moment you get to them the AOE CC and Damage will start coming in.
I am, by no means, telling you how to play Tamer, or saying this is the best of the best, Lol. I am merely showcasing the animation cancel as well as giving you guys tips/mechanics that I've found myself to be very useful as a Tamer. If you expect me to tell you how to play a Tamer, I cannot do that. If you think I am trying to tell, not teach, tell-you how to play a Tamer, I am not doing so. I am basically giving you guys the tools that I found useful that you may also consider to be useful.
Anyways, like always I hope you guys/girls enjoyed this guide and found some use for it.

Also one more combo you might already know but you can animation cancel Void Lightning with Trembling but it is very situational(5 sec stun lock if you land it). Thanks for the video :)
**NOTE**
You need Ultimate Bolt/Jolt Wave as well as Rank 3 Void Lightning or higher in order to cancel Void Lightning with Jolt Wave.
June 17th Patch made the Pet AI more responsive to skills that combos with you like Roar, Surging Tide, Void Lighting, ect. This results in Void Traveling impossible to pull off now. On the bright side, you can spam Void Lightning and other Pet Combo skills in a responsive way, meaning in mid animation, the Pet will restart the skill if you command it do so, resulting in a change of pace in play style and it's use in approach to fighting other classes.

If you use roar only for MS you should hold S before pressing roar, it applies the MS reduction really fast and cancels

I see from your reddit post to this video you switch from the two Heve (head/gloves) to double grunil and kept the Tart body/feet, do you feel that your survivability went down losing the 250 health from the double heve? I know from your reddit post you wanted to mix survival-ability with evade as well as higher health, do you feel it was a worthwhile sacrifice?
+Daniel Dzierzega 250HP is a miniscule sacrifice. I have level 30 Health so my hp is 1400+ with Grunil. I've noted in my guide that going for more of a Damage build in the Mediah Patch will prove much more use for Tamer, because that class is not made for purely tank. So, adding in Grunil with the mix will help out more than 250+ HP. However, I am not disregarding the two piece Heve set. I will still consider using that set if I need to be more tanky with the extra HP in GVG/PVP/PVE, ect. If I do go with the Heve set. I will be rolling HP Crystals in my 2 crystal sockets and possibly get up to 2k Max HP with my whole entire set up.
+Nito Haru I assume you mean a full Grunil for that 2k HP with the extra socket slots. So hard to give up all that DP from Tart but Grunil's DP isn't terrible. You are right at the end of the day we aren't meant to tank +AP vs. DP scaling in BDO is actually quite terrible. I saw some KR videos, one posted here ( forums.mmorpg.com/discussion/448590/why-defensively-based-melee-characters-are-screwed-in-black-desert )
comparing the scaling of 150 AP vs 180+ DP and DP really falls off at that point. Also hate the fact heve is not quality upgradeable.
+Daniel Dzierzega Well yeah, full Grunil can get you 2k HP too. But I was referring to the switch from Heve to Grunil two piece, which will result in me getting only 1400-1600 HP total.
But yeah, AP will in terms scale better after +16, because AP for majority of classes-which is mostly DPS class, will have skills that has a percent damage that does X amount of damage. Especially if that skill has a high up time for DPS (Damage Per Second), like Ranger's Shotgun, making it practical and capable to scale better than DP. But, if u were to for example, showcase AP vs DP for a Sorc on a Valk. The Sorcerer is not going to be able to 4 shot the Valk like what the ranger did within the same time-frame with it's One Punch combo. The same goes for every class. So in that case it's not necessarily that AP outscale DP, it's more so that AP scales better due to class skills. And that is why Ranger is the most OP class right now, because that class specifically is a DPS class, Range DPS=High DPS up time. Even after the small nerf they did to the shotgun skill on Ranger last month, they will still excel in keeping up that DPS time.
I wouldn't really rely on that source of information to display the AP vs DP controversy though, because mathematically/statically, AP will scale better than DP based off of class skills. And the tank classes, that has built in DP buff will better serve the purpose of stacking DP, because that is what they excel in. And the DPS classes, that has built in DPS enhancement and/or better scaling skills will better serve the purpose of stacking AP. And also, a better display of AP vs DP would be better using controlled variables for the experiment rather than strictly a AP Ranger vs stacking DP melee classes for an overall overview for AP vs DP. Showing AP Ranger vs DP melee classes, will only apply for that set up and does not apply to any other AP vs DP classes.
TDLR: Yeah, AP will eventually scale better than DP once more and more content comes out, due to class skills and +16. So, eventually classes that are meant to DPS in some type of way should lean more towards a Damage Build and vice versa for classes meant for Tanking. There are discrepancies and other variables to consider, but in general AP definitely scales better than DP.
Awesome video. I recommend it to every tamer who asks how to play. BTW is it possible to animation cancel trample with trample somehow? I saw someone in red battle field doing this and was wondering if it's actually possible without cheating.
No, you can't animation cancel Trample with Trample. What you probably saw was someone spamming Trample, which you can do if you put it in your skill bar and press the key for it.

Hey Nito idk if you are still around in the game on tamer so I figured I'd just ask: What are your thoughts on Rosar equipment for tamer?
Using Roar is very risky. It basicly says "Hey, stick something up in me". I'd suggest to only use it as an execution tool, in other words, if someone tries to escape with low hp or you dont want to risk the chance of missing trample etc.
+reffor Yeah, I'm aware of that. That's why you use it at the end of a combo or while they're CC. It's also good for tapping targets that's running.

Hello Nito! Great video, it will definetly help me practise anicanceling while im still low lvl and new to the game. May i ask how did you manage getting max att speed? I see that you are using mixed gear, grunil and taritas(?). Could you tell me please what crystals are you using in your slots and why did you mix with tarias?
+eDust I've discussed my gear set in my written guides on Reddit. Do check them out, as it gets absurd answering individuals all the time if they ask me over and over, lol. But to answer your question... I run 2 Magic Crystal of Infinity - Assault in my grunil gloves. This gives me +4 AS already. Then you can socket 1 Carmae and/or the cheap AS crystals in the weapon slot to max it out.
The reason I'm going Grunil/Taritas is pretty much self explanatory. Grunil for AP/Sockets and Taritas for better DP and small stat gain as well as the Taritas Shoe providing Evasion and I'm rolling a semi-Evasion/DP build for surviving a bit more, leaning more towards group PVP and GVG.

Yeah, there's nothing wrong with Full Grunil for Tamers. I'm just opting to specify my gear for my own build and experiment it's uses for my own needs.

Damn, void lighting travel brings a whole new level of skill cap to Tamer. Are you running Taritas/Zereth Shoes?
+Aryavillian I run Taritas Shoes, because I favor the higher base DP and the additional Evasion Increase.
Ahh, makes sense. I've been looking at Taritas/Grunil Shoes with +4 move speed for roaming open world.
If you prefer that and it works for you, go for it.
+Nito Haru I've been using Void Travel, I've noticed more times than not it stops traveling after 3-4 evades. I figured it might have been latency or a mob/player hitting the beast causing him to stop and do Void Lightning combo. Any idea/tips on how to travel further with Void Travel?
If you do it too fast or cancel too fast, you will not be able to Void Travel, let alone command your pet to Void Lightning.
If you do it too slow, it will Void Lightning and will not be able to Void Travel.
If you do it correctly, you will be able to Void Travel until you run out of Stamina or when you pause for a brief second to let your Pet perform Void Lightning.
And then there's an in between timing from doing it a little bit too fast and almost perfect cast time. And doing so would result in your pet only teleporting a few times before it performs Void Lightning. This happens because if you didn't reach the perfect timing, your pet will not sychonrize well with the timing of your travel dodges and will teleport faster than your initial travel time on your dodges giving your Pet enough time to perform Void Lightning. Don't be discouraged though, this is actually good for running away when people are chasing you. As your pet will travel a little bit with you and seconds later it will AOE CC while you are still able to run away.
To do it correctly, you just need to practice it over and over until you get the gist of it and find the sweet spot. There is a time-frame that you can do it perfectly. There is not short-cut or Macros you can do to make it easier. You're almost there, so keep it up. Also, something to note. If something attacks you, your character model will flinch a little bit and this will cause you to slow down a bit in terms of movement and your pet will come down from Void Traveling.

This "Void Traveling". is it required to have specific talent etc? did not see such explaination in the video, and the trick is not working for me. So I figured out that, either it does not work anymore, or I miss a talent wich is critical for this to work.

Great video gonna practice all off this but why do you use acc off hand and bares belt?
And also does not desync affect you at all?
+Hardroller I mainly use Blade Trinket (DP off-hand) and often switch to Accuracy off-hand because you will need Accuracy to ensure your hit rate on opponents with 180+ DP. I am currently using PRI: Bares Belt, because it's a cheap alternative if you want additional AP. Otherwise I'd be wearing Tree Belt if I had it.
Desync does effect me, I just learned to play with it, it's not that big of a deal anymore, it happens from time to time though.

+Paolo Micciche I've written a follow up guide for Mediah. The link is in the description. And yes, if you like my build and it works for you then I suggest you to use Taritas Armor/Shoe and Grunil Helmet/Glove. In terms of off-hand-I also discussed that in my recent guide. But to answer your question. I personally use Blade Trinket for everything. However, if I am power grinding for a few hours or if I'm fighting an opponent with high DP and find that the extra Accuracy will help and if i am not in need for DP then I'd switch the off-hand on the go.
why am I suddenly unable to report people who are constant breaking the rules and being rude af in this game? I have full energy.
I didn't see anyone do anim cancel evade backwards? That evade is twice the speed of normal evade. SHIFT+LMB and spam S while holding those two, i believe. I use it a lot. Btw, thanks for sharing these secrets, this is another level for me. I just found out this evade backwards myself, i think it is pretty useful.
I've been personally using backwards ever since I made this video, lol. Except I didn't mention it as, I'm pretty sure people can figure things on their own now.

does this method not eat stamina even more tho?, I cancel BJ with LBP fearful and tide mostly cos they don't cost stamina :D canceling with evade without the requirement to evade seems wasteful, however if u want the its guud
Yes, it eats it like hell, and i am not familiar with cancel that you are describing, can you elaborate on that more? I see how that can be useful not to eat stamina and use it when i have :D
Question about 7:25 isn't Void Lighting only slow down 20% movement speed?

It doesn't let me hold the burst and I dunno if it will stun players.
+lok tin ho Sorry, no I don't. I do know that it will stun players for 2 seconds though. However, I believe they took out the damage over time component.
Attempting to do the Void travel and I can't even Cancel Void lightning with Bolt Wave whatever I do void lightning seems to finish its duration. I can do all the other Void lightning cancels just bolt wave refuses to work, perhaps I need void lightning maxed or Air lightning skilled?. Do you happen to have any idea what i'm doing horribly wrong :D thanks. Great Video btw!

Yes u can do this with Void Lightning Rank 3 and higher. There's no point in getting a two piece set without the Taritas Armor AND Blade Trinket, because that offers the most DP. If you're going Grunil Armor/Shoes with Taritas Helmet/glove. You mind as well go full Grunil. I've went over why I chose my armor set in the written portion of the guide. If you wish to learn or find out in-depth explanation, I've covered them on my Reddit Posts with many that I've answered with similar questions, which I recommend you to go check for the sake of having to repeat myself .-.

Yeah, you can still do Void Travel with Legendary Beast's Power. Just Make sure you Forward Dodge at least a couple times first.
Hey, can I ask you how to farm (mb aswell where) as Tamer ... I jsut hit 50 and iam haveing a bad time at Catfish bc of the elits/bosses that spawn there (I jsut cant manage to kill them wihtout useing 30+ potions and its taking so much time aswell)

+eZ_Siozu You need to get your gear to at least +10 if it's taking you that long. Other than that. Just Dodge behind elite bosses and do a quick bolt/jolt and whiplash them. And repeat.

Hey nito I have been heaving trouble getting adjusted to overworld pvping... I'm having trouble guaging power, chosing targets, and knowing what to do when i run out of stamina... AND CHASING how do you chase a tamer? actually do you think that there's anyway I can talk to you and pick your brain for some pointers? trying to get better each day :(
also how come you bolt jolt to the side a lot???
1. Make sure you're geared. I don't know how long you've been playing, but majority of the people playing are geared now. We're talking 120+ AP with 160+ DP. At this point in time, for Tamer's do deal a lot of damage, you need to have Liverto or Kzarka weapon as well as Bheg's glove and Needle off hand to deal considerable damage. If you don't have those items, then you will need to chain all your CC/Combos near perfectly to do considerable damage.
2. Solo/Group/Guild pvping is all different. If you're solo pvp fighting against multiple people then just play smart, target non-front line classes first and keep up time in your Void Lightning to have CC. If you're group pvping then, communicate with your team mates and figure out what you're going to do. In general, your role should be to eliminate primary targets, (Wizzies, Ranger, Sorc, Tamers, ect). Make sure you're doing something to keep pressure on them with CCs and damage or you can peel for your team mates. For Guild, depending on whether or not you're zerging or have a organized small scale tactic going on. You can only do so much on your own, so just lead your group right, or follow your leader's command.
3. Chasing on Tamer is easy, if you have at least +2 Movement speed through crystals and whatnot and then just drink a +2 or +3 Movement Speed elixir to get max Movement Speed. Once you've obtained this, just spam dodges and LBP interchangeably. And sometimes you can even sheath your weapon to run faster while letting your endurance regen a bit faster. Then go back to dodging and using LBP. Once you're close enough, just use Flash. Most of the time, you don't want to chase someone too much. Them running, means you own them. Once they keep running, just go back to grinding, and/or go back to your group and find another target. But if you want to chase them down, just keep doing what I've said earlier until you get them. Honestly, I think it's a waste of time chasing a bit too much after you assert your dominance.
my tamer is kind of wonky right now i'm still trying to upgrade gear but i have 116/182 since my last few upgrades but i don't have any boss gear... I can't seem to get the drops to well happen
2. Okay I'll try to internalize that. I've been having trouble shifting between the different types of pvp it gets really hard for me because I keep being pulled by what's directly in front of me...
3. Yeah I'll calm down with the chasing but at the same time is that 5 moement speed worth sacrificing like fury/death/reaper/thorn elixirs? because you can only have one up right?? I just honestly have the hardest time with archers and bladers who run away from me...
Also HOW DO YOU FIGHT ARCHERS! and should I save trample for it's cd? also how do you deal with rotations and stamina capping like do you just walk for a bit like you said because i get so overwhelmed sometimes. Like I'm inconsistent... either I destroy someone or i stop and just stand there confused looking at my cooldowns... extended fights are hard unless it's against like a warrior
If, you want to chase someone and need the extra movement speed then just pop the elixir, if not then just don't chase and use other elixir if u want.
Archer is simple, just dodge to side instead of dodging directly towards them since their shotgun can get through the before/after s. Archers are simple fights, but if you mess up then it gets bad. Reach in for any CC then u should be able to pressure them or kill them afterwards. For bladers/plum, if they run away then just go after them. Just land your CC and chain your combos. If they're really trying to run away and don't want to fight anymore, then mind as well not chase. Dueling wise, it just comes down to skill and timing. Tamers have upper hand with lots of CC to dispose of.
Managing skill resource is something you need to learn on your own. Logically, you don't need to spam dodge every single time so don't waste your stamina when not needed. Rotating skills too.. If you don't think you'll land your skill and think you won't be able to chain them, then don't spam your skills.
i was wondering what your thoughts are for a 700+SP build is now with the dmg changes to certain tamer skills and also infinate mastery being lowered to 50-55 now, been trying to find a decent build but ppl love to just throw 900+ skill point build up thinking most ppl have that amount, im sitting at about 711 SP atm.
I'd recommend for DPS/Burst, to spec into the Flash tree and if you have additional points to spend, max out Surging Tide will do some good Burst. Also, with a 700+ SP build, you should be saving those SP for Awakenings, although awakening won't be out until a few months, so yeah.
ok kool thanx im sitting at like 760 SP now so just trying to throw some of those points into additional skills for now till closer to Awakening time i know for a lvl 56 youll need a good 101-111 SP for just those skills and im only at 30% into 56 so we shall see if i even hit 57 by then, this is the build i decided to use lemme know what ya think bddatabase.net/us/skillcalc/7160
Does the void lightning thing still work?
finding the void travel not activating for me at all... I believe I'm getting the timing and cancel right, because the void lightning animations isn't shown at the beginning, but neither does it show at the end of evading.

+ausj3w3l If you're under 100 Ping, you should be fine. Sadly, every skill is actually Client Side, but the AI Pet is on the server receiving side I believe. You can still do it if you find the perfect timing. Good luck!

+steffen sveegaard Builds in Description. Void Travel is just something you can do as a mechanic with canceling Void Lightning. Just keep doing what you're doing if it's working out for you. All my thoughts on my skill build and gears are in my written guide.
I've tried to void travel so many times and not once has it worked. I've tried many different times between q > ani cancel and it refuses to do it. I don't know if i'm doing it wrong or if it's patched by now.
They've patched it to be a lot harder if not impossible to do it consistently. I've asked a few tamers I know including a very high leveled, experienced one and he couldn't do it when I asked im to. Probably could once or twice, but not practical in any pvp situation.

i think im doing something wrong with the Void travel(lvl3) the pet doesn't do its void lightning(when teleporting to me)
+wazza B It probably is and you just don't see the animation if you've toggled some things in your option setting.
Do you need any ranks to void travel? Or can you do it from the start?
+Alexander Johansson You need Ultimate: Bolt/Jolt Wave and Rank 3 Void Lightning.. You can try it with only Ultimate: Jolt Wave and Rank 3 Void Lightning, but I recommend to get both Ultimate.

Any advice on the void traveling, i cancel it but my WW isnt fast enough to get distance so pet ends up just using it ontop of me 90% of the time.

Yea i have, just most of the time i dont get away quick enough =/.
Just keep practicing it to get the timing down. Try to cancel it a bit slower or faster, you'll get it.
can you not do the void travel trick anymore? it wont work for me, i spam shift+space but it wont cancel animation on Q.

Nito i rlly have a problem, i practice and practice my Q+JW+WW and beast catch me fast, and i tried Q+JW+Ultimate beast power+ww+ww+ww but this is my max, beast catch me and bb stun xD i need any rank of speed or wtf im doing wrong?
+ManuGamerWTF Make sure you key bind your Forward Dodge (WW) to a hotkey instead of pressing WW in the option setting. If you still can't manage to make it go further then try to cancel it a bit slower or a bit faster. This is somewhat ping dependent so you won't be able to make it travel far all the time. Just work around with what you can do.

Try to bind it on your mouse or some where around WASD.

Hardest thing to do is stun lock with minimal gap.
on Void Travel you hold W or double it?
+SeBasTian You don't have to hold W. Just hold your assigned Forward Dodge button (WW). I just hold W for precaution.

If you watched the video, I mentioned that you should go to the option setting to assign your Forward Dodge Button. Which, I recommend for you to do..

It does work. It's just a bit different for the timing if you're used to the old one (pre-June patch). I don't want to have to explain this to everyone in details. Void Travel is doable still.

+Márk Krasznay It still works. You just have to practice it and make sure you have Ultimate: Bolt/Jolt Wave and Rank 3 Void Lightning.

+WakeAsylum Level up your Health level... At level 30 it gives you +300 Max HP. And you can also use Crystals to increase your Max HP.

It's a macro. you can tell since you're only pressing "w" on screen while it happens.
I don't use a Macro software, lol. People do not listen at all. *Go to the option settings and key bind your Forward Dodge (WW) to a hotkey*. You don't even need to press "W" when you're holding the hotkey for Forward Dodge. I just hold onto it while forward dodging in case. It's not hard.
right.. but in the video you are seen void traveling while only pressing W.... which is impossible without using a macro..... so.. You ARE... using a macro. Watch the video at 6:00 in. You are only pressing "w" At no point are you pressing Q+ Shift + LMB and WW hotkey repeatedly. You're seen pressing just "W" and yet casting all those other skills.
Settings -> input -> assigned key (ww)

so does the combo auto repeat somehow when you dodge then? are you saying you only need to begin the cancellation combo, ending the initial cycle with "WW" but then it automatically repeats? because unless that is whats happening.. there is a macro involved. no getting around it.
do the animation cancel repeatedly as seen here and show your hands at the same time, same screen.
