    Have you looked at the impact of neonictanoids (insectacides) coating almost all commercial corn and many soybeans? There are likely many variables in the overall decline in wild turkeys but I am concerned this is a big one.

    Seen a gobbler on my farm in Arkansas for the first time in several years last season. He walked within 15 yards from me and I was so happy just to see him, the thought of shooting him never crossed my mind even though I had the gun in my lap.

    Here in the armpit of hunting one thing we have are turkeys season comes in first sat closet to may 1 and goes till the 31 they are harder to find the 3rd week of may but easier than the first week lol most states need to push the start dates back i see hens breeding here in march and polts grouse size end of may but also see hens being bred the last day there are two bully jakes here now breeding everything that lets em lol they got 10 hens and nothing but them gobbling should change in the weeks ahead wish gave ya the info they find out about turkeys are game commissions sucks there worry about a bat or mesquito instead of grouse and turkey

    Used to be money in fur and now it's not worth it. Surely that's a big reason for turkey decline

    i live in va. turkeys ain't a priority here. we have a new turkey guy here from wv, so maybe he'll build a fire hopefully.

    So the common guy has that many less places fro possib!y hunt. Marks a nice dude but now rather obviously has means and notoriety that most don't.
