  • Certainly one of the best dive sites in Thailand, Richelieu Rock is an isolated pinnacle about 10km east of Surin Islands and 100km NNE of the Similan islands. The very top of the rock is just visible at low tide, but submerged at high tide. Below the surface Richelieu Rock is approximately horseshoe shaped consisting of several groups of rocks, pinnacles, overhangs and small caves. It drops most steeply on the north and west side, while the south side slopes more gently on the “inside” of the horseshoe. Maximum depth is about 35 meters, but it can be dived mostly at 20 - 28 meters.
Filmed with Panasonic GH5 in Nauticam Housing with Nauticam wet wide lens 1B and 2 X-Adventurer M8000 video lights. No red and blue filters applied. November 2022.

Wonderful footage you have there. Makes me want to explore this place too... Looking at your equipments, especially on the lights, Im also deciding between the X adventurer M8000 or the M15000... So my question is if the M8000 is working well for you so far and do you occasional feel the need to have that more battery life or brighter lights? Thanks

Basically, the more light the better. However you need more buoyancy compensators due to added weight. Therefore, for me personally the M8000 work fine. I use them with the remote control and optic cable.
