stop using this overused word 'underrated.' she's not. she's highly acclaimed and celebrated and often referred to as "the great kathy bates." get a clue.
Can someone get more of Kathy as Joan from the show please? I feel she was an underrated part of it. She did great as a somewhat brassy classic Hollywood gal remembering her peers.
outinsider Do you have Amazon Prime? You can buy the full season on there for $14.99....I think that's how much it is. That's how I've been watching it. The money is worth it! The series is amazing. I've watched it over and over again cause it's so damn good.
Interesting point... I never thought about that resemblance, but you are right. She would be an excellent choice if someone decided to make a biopic or something on Shelley Winters.
Loved the show!amazing Lange and Sarandon, no words..but it seems that Catherine Zeta Jones and Kathy Bates just played themselves, not the actresses they were supposed to- sorry not sorry
I felt the same way. I rewatched the series recently and I had to skip over CZJ and Kathy Bates' scenes lol They just seemed out of place and CZJ doesn't do a good Olivia de Havilland. lol
This show has greater actors no doubt, but the writing is just an absurd defense for acting unprofessionally, as if Joan is faking illness to get back at someone way younger than she was.
I love Kathy Bates, it looks like she is just having a casual talk, not reciting some script that she learned to make this scene.
One of the most underrated actresses. I was thrilled when I saw her in this show. She is fabulous.

I adore that woman. No matter the movie, show, appearance, etc. that she’s in, it’s always worth watching .
Joan Blondell was roommates with Bette Davis in NYC in the mid 1920's. Both looking for Bway roles. She was a good actress and fine comedian. ♥️
That's Right, Sometimes You Have To " Rip the Tablecloth Right Off the Table"! Then, You Have Their Attention!😄😇💖
Loved the Show and Whole Cast!💖💖
LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Kathy Bates!!!!
I want to see this show so badly! I can't live on just clips alone!

Nevermind ripping the tablecloth, burn the place down. 😂🤪 Without harming anyone. 😊
I LOVE THIS WOMAN IN EVERYTHING SHE DOES!
She reminds me of Shelley Winters.

I think she did a great job, i knew of Joan Blondell in Grease, and Bates does a great job, definitely.
