There are very few or no top drummers that actually play both basses. It is for show. To get them both tuned to each other is not worth the trouble. This band is totally organic, and they are the real deal.

All members of Lovebites are around thirty years old and are sophisticated, well educated women (classically trained from a very early age) who are exceptionally talented musicians at the top of their game. Lovebites is NOT a manufacted band, the five members came together from different metal bands in 2016 through mutual friendships as did the Beatles and the Stones. All are multi-instrumentalists and the guitarist with black hair you picked out as looking bored is also a concert level classical pianist who was headed for a career as a professional pianist until she picked up a guitar ten years or so ago and discovered metal. The piano is really her primary instrument and the guitar her second. She occasionally plays classical piano pieces in some Lovebites' concerts and was four months pregnant when this concert was recorded. If like guitar battles you should check out Lovebites 'Scream for Me' and 'Swan Song' with Miyako playing a Chopin Etude as an intro.
The only thing you can argue is manufactured is their image, as in always dressing in white dresses and stuff, other than that the band is totally legit. They mastered their instruments, they write and compose their songs etc, they are the real deal.
Metal fans are the worst. Someone tries to put on a good show and they get called a gimmick. Just playing instruments isn't a good show. God forbid someone is entertaining.
Lovebites are phenomenal and totally legit. They are among the best in the business in how they play and sing. They toured with DragonForce in the UK in 2019 and won the Metal Hammer Golden Gods award for best new metal band in 2018. They performed at Wacken and Bloodstock but not in the USA yet. You've only scratched the surface of this amazing band and I highly recommend you do more of them.
Hopefully they'll actually do another international tour but I see the chances of that going way down now that Miyako has a kid. Most Japanese female musicians will still do domestic tours but I have yet to see one do an international one.

Manufatured bands are generally put together to sell based purely on image - there's little talent in a manufactured band. Lovebites is not manufactured, it's a group of five incredibly talented women who can destroy almost any other band you care to mention. That said, you do know that they're all playing, it's just such a rare phenomenon that your eyes can hardly believe it. This is just the fourth song in a two hour show, and they don't let up from beginning to end. I'm sure you're going to check out more, and it won't take long until your brain adjusts and you fully comprehend their brilliance.

Babymetal is a "metal-flavored idol group". Except for those who are crazy about it, ordinary Japanese people have that kind of recognition. I'm not saying that factory-produced music is bad. But I don't think it makes sense to compare completely different things.
Miho (Bass) and Haruna (Drums) formed the band after their former band "Destrose" broke up, they wear white partly to help them stand out on stage as they are all very small, Myako the dark haired guitarist is the tallest at 5" 2' and Haruna is 4" 9'
Overall a very positive reaction, but when you stated that Haruna might not be legit because of the complex beats, it sounded prejudiced and I wonder if you would have said the same about a male drummer. You eventually adjusted your initial statement, but it was at least unfortunate.
OK, I know this comment was 3 years ago. But, to his defense - it is very common to first believe that this sound cannot come from Haruna. She is quite small and she do not move a lot. It seems like magic. But, Haruna is a very economic drummer. Moreover, most of the magic is in her feet. They are doing quite complex and fast stuff that is totally invisible for the audience. So, he is not the only one that have doubted Haruna. Most other drummers are much more animated.

Mesmerized! Yes, that is a good way to put it. Welcome to the best new metal band to come along in decades. In their five years of existence as a band, they set a standard that easily puts them on a par with the greatest bands of metal’s golden age. Other reviewers have described them as alien superheroes disguised as young women, angels sent to save us, princesses of metal, and angry bridesmaids. Whatever the description, I think one can say they have given metal a badly needed makeover and maybe a new lease on life. They have themselves said that part of their mission is to save heavy metal from darkness and obscurity. Some background: They were formed in 2016 from the remnants of a legendary all-girl Japanese metal band called Destrose (yes, all-girl metal has been a thing in Japan since at least 1981). Miho (bass, chief headbanger and soul of the band) had a vision of a new band in the style of the greatest European bands of the golden age of metal. She recruited her former bandmate Haruna (drums, 4'9" “pocket nuclear reactor”); they needed two world-class guitarists, and so they went and found Midori and Miyako, who were with other bands. The whole group then found Asami, the singer, who was doing soul and blues at the time (she also trained in ballet). Miyako has composed most of their music, with Miho composing a lot of their thrashier songs in collaboration with Mao, the lead composer of another band called Lightbringer. Midori has also been getting into the act, and they regularly perform a song written by Haruna as well. Asami writes most of the lyrics. They studied all the great historical metal bands going back to Purple and Sabbath, through Maiden, Priest, Metallica, Helloween, Slayer etc. They toured with Dragonforce in 2019, and word from those in attendance is that next time around, it will be the ladies headlining. They have incorporated some of the best of each of those bands into their arsenal, and have created a sound that is fresh and cutting edge while paying tribute to the old masters. Midori (blonde ponytail) is the extrovert and speed demon; Miyako is the introvert, with the more soulful feel (though she can also shred like a demon). Midori uses a cleaner tone, Miyako uses more distortion, pinch harmonics and pedal effects. The contrast makes their duets rich and dynamic. This song is not a great example of Haruna's insane double kick ability. That lady is a wall of sound all on her own. Double kick try Rising, for wall of sound Addicted. I was kinda confused by the thumbnail at first, because it actually belongs to their Holy War performance. Whatever. These ladies are phenomenal and they certainly do not pretend lol. All members have been involved in bands prior to the formation of Lovebites and a lot of experience. Lovebites have only been around for five years, but have won a lot of acclaim and have performed at several big European festivals, including Wacken. Also you realize that Babymetal aren't really representative of Japan's metal or music scene in general? There are hundreds of organically-formed metal bands in Japan that couldn't be any more different from Babymetal. That came across as pretty ignorant. If you are interested in more Japanese metal then listen to Unlucky Morpheus, Galneryus and Aldious (another all-female metal band), among other ones.
Yeah it irks me as well when people see Japan's streamlined pop idol scene and apply to all aspects of their music industry. It's like people seeing only Western boy bands and thinking that's how all of our music is created.
Lovebites is not a prefabricated band. They are the greatest metal band of all time and I'm weighing my words. No one matches the collective talent of this band. That's not to say that other bands aren't good, but that Lovebites plays to a higher degree. This is obvious when you have seen all their performances and listened to their entire discography.

If you consider Superb Instrumental precision along with World Class Stage performance and perfect writing manufactured then yes they are manufactured. But in reality the bass Player Miho and Haruna the drummer started this themed or manufactued Super band in 2016 after being in another successfull all female band before hand. What isnt manufactured is the Shear Talent in their writing and playing. No auto tune no backing instrument tracks other than small parts that ad dimension in a couple songs. This band is as Real and Top shelf live as most people could dream of achieving.

Manufatured bands are generally put together to sell based purely on image - there's little talent in a manufactured band. Lovebites is not manufactured, it's a group of five incredibly talented women who can destroy almost any other band you care to mention. That said, you do know that they're all playing, it's just such a rare phenomenon that your eyes can hardly believe it. This is just the fourth song in a two hour show, and they don't let up from beginning to end. I'm sure you're going to check out more, and it won't take long until your brain adjusts and you fully comprehend their brilliance.

I'm not saying that factory-produced music is bad.
But I don't think it makes sense to compare completely different things.
He doesn't even know what he's talking about as far as Babymetal. It sounds like he watched one video and jumped to a bunch of incorrect conclusions.
Miho (Bass) and Haruna (Drums) formed the band after their former band "Destrose" broke up, they wear white partly to help them stand out on stage as they are all very small, Myako the dark haired guitarist is the tallest at 5" 2' and Haruna is 4" 9'
Overall a very positive reaction, but when you stated that Haruna might not be legit because of the complex beats, it sounded prejudiced and I wonder if you would have said the same about a male drummer. You eventually adjusted your initial statement, but it was at least unfortunate.
OK, I know this comment was 3 years ago. But, to his defense - it is very common to first believe that this sound cannot come from Haruna. She is quite small and she do not move a lot. It seems like magic. But, Haruna is a very economic drummer. Moreover, most of the magic is in her feet. They are doing quite complex and fast stuff that is totally invisible for the audience. So, he is not the only one that have doubted Haruna. Most other drummers are much more animated.

There are many great musicians from Japan. Especially from the rock and metal scene. Senri Kawaguchi is particularly impressive. She is a jazz and fashion drum player with incredible technical skills. she has an impressive solo on the Drumeo.

They do have some songs with backingtracks but in those cases it is to make the sound "richer". This band is not manufactured. The are for real!
Mesmerized! Yes, that is a good way to put it. Welcome to the best new metal band to come along in decades. In their five years of existence as a band, they set a standard that easily puts them on a par with the greatest bands of metal’s golden age. Other reviewers have described them as alien superheroes disguised as young women, angels sent to save us, princesses of metal, and angry bridesmaids. Whatever the description, I think one can say they have given metal a badly needed makeover and maybe a new lease on life. They have themselves said that part of their mission is to save heavy metal from darkness and obscurity. Some background:
They were formed in 2016 from the remnants of a legendary all-girl Japanese metal band called Destrose (yes, all-girl metal has been a thing in Japan since at least 1981). Miho (bass, chief headbanger and soul of the band) had a vision of a new band in the style of the greatest European bands of the golden age of metal. She recruited her former bandmate Haruna (drums, 4'9" “pocket nuclear reactor”); they needed two world-class guitarists, and so they went and found Midori and Miyako, who were with other bands. The whole group then found Asami, the singer, who was doing soul and blues at the time (she also trained in ballet). Miyako has composed most of their music, with Miho composing a lot of their thrashier songs in collaboration with Mao, the lead composer of another band called Lightbringer. Midori has also been getting into the act, and they regularly perform a song written by Haruna as well. Asami writes most of the lyrics.
They studied all the great historical metal bands going back to Purple and Sabbath, through Maiden, Priest, Metallica, Helloween, Slayer etc. They toured with Dragonforce in 2019, and word from those in attendance is that next time around, it will be the ladies headlining. They have incorporated some of the best of each of those bands into their arsenal, and have created a sound that is fresh and cutting edge while paying tribute to the old masters.
They do everything from soulful power ballads to heavy thrash. Almost every song includes face-melting solos by Miyako and Midori. The two guitarists are quite different in style and tone. Midori (blonde ponytail) is the extrovert and speed demon; Miyako is the introvert, with the more soulful feel (though she can also shred like a demon). Midori uses a cleaner tone, Miyako uses more distortion, pinch harmonics and pedal effects. The contrast makes their duets rich and dynamic. It doesn’t hurt that either one can smoke most of the shredders in the classic metal bands. As another reviewer said, "It seems criminal these two are allowed to be in the same band."

This song is not a great example of Haruna's insane double kick ability. That lady is a wall of sound all on her own. Double kick try Rising, for wall of sound Addicted. Few drum reactors are paying attention and analyzing Haruna. It is a damn shame. Many Wolfpack members are in awe of Princess Haruna. Drum Nerd is doing a second video on them tomorrow. Wolfpack head over and support reacting drummers. Great as they all are Haruna is an extra notch above.
Haruna is only 4'8" . . it may be a rather large stretch physically for her to deal with that wider spread during a 2hr show.

I was kinda confused by the thumbnail at first, because it actually belongs to their Holy War performance. Whatever. These ladies are phenomenal and they certainly do not pretend lol. All members have been involved in bands prior to the formation of Lovebites and a lot of experience. Lovebites have only been around for five years, but have won a lot of acclaim and have performed at several big European festivals, including Wacken. Also you realize that Babymetal aren't really representative of Japan's metal or music scene in general? There are hundreds of organically-formed metal bands in Japan that couldn't be any more different from Babymetal. That came across as pretty ignorant. If you are interested in more Japanese metal then listen to Unlucky Morpheus, Galneryus and Aldious (another all-female metal band), among other ones.
Yeah it irks me as well when people see Japan's streamlined pop idol scene and apply to all aspects of their music industry. It's like people seeing only Western boy bands and thinking that's how all of our music is created.
Lovebites is not a prefabricated band. They are the greatest metal band of all time and I'm weighing my words. No one matches the collective talent of this band. That's not to say that other bands aren't good, but that Lovebites plays to a higher degree. This is obvious when you have seen all their performances and listened to their entire discography.

Another great Japanese band is the Unmanufactured, Independent band, is Unlucky Morpheus. Fumiya is one of the greatest drummers. Try Black Pentagram, Angriefer, ...and the list goes on.

If you consider Superb Instrumental precision along with World Class Stage performance and perfect writing manufactured then yes they are manufactured. But in reality the bass Player Miho and Haruna the drummer started this themed or manufactued Super band in 2016 after being in another successfull all female band before hand. What isnt manufactured is the Shear Talent in their writing and playing. No auto tune no backing instrument tracks other than small parts that ad dimension in a couple songs. This band is as Real and Top shelf live as most people could dream of achieving.
