I'm originally from Winnsboro (25 minutes north west from downtown Columbia...Go Cocks!), but I'm currently living in Eastern NC. Winnsboro is a wonderful historical small town with its history dating back to the 1730s. Winnsboro has the oldest continuously running Town Clock in the country. The town has had some bad luck due to Walmart moving in, in 1998, killing the down town businesses on Main Street and then leaving in 2017. Since then, downtown has been slowly coming back to life. The people are lovely and are willing to help out it's neighbors whenever needed. The quintessential southern small town. There are 2 lakes on either side of the county (Fairfield), Lake Wateree and Lake Monticello. The French Board River (one of the oldest rivers in the world) also runs through the county. I attended Richard Winn Academy (RWA) in my youth and it was a wonderful experience. With all this said, I would suggest looking at Winnsboro as a possibility with lots of newer and historical homes. The housing market is very reasonable (some properties are almost a steal).

I've lived in Forest acres for 4 years now. Got an incredible deal on a house only minutes from Trader Joes. It really is a high quality of life place to live. I feel centrally located for everything in the metro area. I truly can get anything I need in less than 20 minutes including a large array of international food options. The only downside is I wish it was more walkable and that forest drive was less of a stroad as it is difficult to get in and out of the shops.
Thanks for this insight! Definitely the big misconception from out of staters, seem to assume it's a quaint downtown where you can easily walk up and down the street, where it is much busier. I have a driving tour and Vlog tour coming up of the area, to hopefully expand on that more!
@@brandongaronteam Awesome! I'm looking forward too it. It does seem that the city proper development patterns do seem to be transitioning to a more walkable design as well. The area around the university has a lot of promise in this regard. 10 years from now I can only imagine with the pedestrian bridge to the zoo being complete and green street + south main developments

No. We don’t have a rental division and apartments are managed by their own independent companies. Not something we have experience or expertise in.

Unfortunately, not. We do not have a rental division, and apartments, specifically, are handled by their own on site property management. Therefore, it’s not something we have expertise in.
When we relocated here, we relied on apartments.com, as it’s a good resource for finding apartments. With that said, you really have to read reviews and check out online forums to get peoples true insight of actually living on the properties. Some are good, some not so much.

beware that South Carolina roads are not up to pare for suburbanization at all, traffic is getting worse every year. Plus the roads are dangerous, very horrible wrecks all the time. Full coverage is required for cars that's finance
