I just left the Greenville area, moved back to Oregon for family. Part of my heart is still in South Carolina. We are hoping to move back when our kids are finished with school. I loved it there, great place and great people.

It's understandable to feel attached to Greenville where you've built memories and relationships. It's such a great place to live! Stay connected with friends and loved ones through video calls or social media. Remember the positive experiences you had in Greenville and carry those memories with you wherever you go. Take care and I hope Oregon feels like home soon!

You did a great job telling all about Columbia, South Carolina. I grew up in a rural area of Aiken County in New Holland, South Carolina. New Holland is a very rural farming area (or at least, it used to be) that is (was) comprised of rural farmland and just a couple of old fashioned country stores at a four way intersection where depending on the road you took, led to Columbia, to interstate I-20, to Wagener, or to Aiken, SC. We had family who lived in Columbia and we visited the city often. I have many fond childhood memories of visiting Columbia. I went to school in Wagener SC, and I remember wonderful school trips to the planetarium and state capitol, as well as church and family trips to Riverbanks zoo. I also recall a lovely huge round fountain in downtown where we would go on scorching summer days and splash around to cool off when I stayed with my cousins who lived in the downtown Columbia area in one of the older historic neighborhoods. Your video brought back all of those wonderful childhood memories for me, Thank you~ I hope the planetarium is still there, it was my favorite as a child. I thought it was so magical to be able to stare up at the night sky filled with twinkling stars in the middle of the day.

Thank you so much for watching my video and for sharing your childhood memories! The planetarium is operated by USC and has public viewings weekly. The South Carolina State Museum now has a digital planetarium that is pretty neat too!

@@MovingtoColumbiaSCPlease 🙏 let her know that "Fountain ⛲" she's probably talking about is Finlay Park. (Which has been closed 🔒 for almost 10 years) Nothing but Homeless people, and Transients here. Unless you're a Baby Boomer, or Retired Military 🎖️, like my old Drill Sgt used to say. "You're in a BAD Way Private!" And that Southern Hospitality is pure BS! That was true what you were saying back in the late 1990's. (Like around 1997-2002) but not anymore! But you're right 👍 about the Zoo here

FACTS 💯👍👌!!!! The city is TRASH 🗑️!! But you're dealing with alot of locals, who've NEVER traveled, or lived anywhere else. So they don't have any perspective. SMH.

You mentioned a lot of family fun and new age entertainment for younger people but how can you do a video on Columbia and neglect to mention Fort Jackson and the huge military presence there? I didn’t know there was a zoo in Columbia so I need to go there. Thanks

Thanks for watching Daniel. Fort Jackson will be brought up in a video where I talk about the Pros and Cons of Living on the Northeast side of town. Look for it in a couple of weeks!
