I've been watching Josh and Erin's journey for several years now. I'm amazed how smart Josh is, he can build anything. Erin... how is she so strong. This petite woman can out work just about any guy. Erin's carrying 80 lb bags of concrete and lifting steel beams.
I been watching almost since day one every video and the first time I saw her lifting 80lb bags of concrete by the barn I was blown away seeing Erin do this.
And keep in mind, those blocks she's lifting, pretty sure they weigh around 50 lbs each. Thats saying something right there. Those two are a dynamic duo for sure.
Two of the hardest working people on the planet! Most people wouldn't be comfortable with taking on one of your projects but you have multiple projects going simultaneously. I love how both of you keep smiling through all the hard work. Thanks for sharing!

My wife and I built 4 homes in 20 years ,,,,, the last house took us 3 and a half years to finish with us doing all the work.... It was hard and at times I hated it but in the end i was glad for the time we spent together and the results were amazing and well worth it . You all remind me of us !

I just did my first block foundation (small ) for a cabin project, after i got the all clear from the surgeon from a massive rotator cuff tear. Erin- you out work most men!! Take your time you (both ) got this!

I'm building my own home also. The only difference is I'm cutting and milling my own lumber. I have not bought any lumber from the store. A lot of hard work.

Masonry work is tough. I worked for a mason for a while when I was around 17 years old after we had to sell all our cattle. I was the only help he had at the time. I had to carry the bricks, mix and haul the mortar from the front of the house to the back of the house, It was very hard work. If everything had been closer it wouldn’t have been so hard. I grew up on a dairy farm so I was used to hard work but masonry was the hardest work I’ve ever done. Y’all are doing a great job building your safe room.

I love your channel so much. My Grandpa had a farm right down the mountain from where you guys are in Slanesville. He did the same thing as you. Bought 60 acres back in the 1950’s and built his home and barn by himself and they lived there until they passed. I live in Louisiana now and I get home sick every time I watch your videos. Someday I’ll would love to visit your cafe and enjoy a coffee and reminisce about West Virginia. Thank you for the videos and the motivation you give people.
An engineer would say, reduce total potential gravitational energy requirement, by putting the pallet of blocks as CLOSE to the final position as possible. Even a couple feet closer is saving a cheeseburger of energy over the course of a day!

My husband and I always enjoys doing projects ourselves. It’s so hard to find reliable, good workers at a fair market price. We’ve hired work out before only to be very disappointed in the price, quality and time they took to do it. Like my husband says, “WE can do a really crappy job for free” and finish before they could even start and at a very decent price. But we don’t do a crappy job. We take the time to research materials, price and processes to do the work properly! You’ve done great! So proud of you all!
As much as you both love concrete then maybe a concrete walls, floor, roof all poured at one time. You could of been done in a week over all. That being said you are both killing it. Great job and video.

Joshua commanded the armies of God's people and Aaron, Moses' brother, lead the Israelites out of Egypt. It kinda seems like what you two have been doing for our nation. I know that you won't ever have to worry if a big storm comes like did before and hid under the A-Frame where the walls around the house were solid and you rode it out. I agree with your commentary about not hiring the work out. I've been asked that many times with my handyman business because people didn't understand I was satisfied doing the work. The fun of the work is knowing you did it and did it well...together. My parents still tell the story about pouring the driveway themselves at their house while Mom was pregnant with me. I was already questioning myself if I missed any video. The past couple of weeks the new videos were dropped on UA-cam from a regular Sunday to Wednesday and now Thursday. This is for sure one of their hardest works and it shows on the video as well as the timings new videos drop. Hang in there guys, we’re rooting for you.
I would have hired out the laying the concrete blocks without a doubt. Dreams or not! Time saved could have been spent on those tasks that you guys excel at to move the project ahead sooner!

I love your channel so much. My Grandpa had a farm right down the mountain from where you guys are in Slanesville. He did the same thing as you. Bought 60 acres back in the 1950’s and built his home and barn by himself and they lived there until they passed. I live in Louisiana now and I get home sick every time I watch your videos. Someday I’ll would love to visit your cafe and enjoy a coffee and reminisce about West Virginia. Thank you for the videos and the motivation you give people.

My husband and I always enjoys doing projects ourselves. It’s so hard to find reliable, good workers at a fair market price. We’ve hired work out before only to be very disappointed in the price, quality and time they took to do it. Like my husband says, “WE can do a really crappy job for free” and finish before they could even start and at a very decent price. But we don’t do a crappy job. We take the time to research materials, price and processes to do the work properly! You’ve done great! So proud of you all!

I find it interesting that your names are Joshua and Erin. It brings to mind Joshua and Aaron in the book of Exodus. Joshua commanded the armies of God's people and Aaron, Moses' brother, lead the Israelites out of Egypt. It kinda seems like what you two have been doing for our nation. You guys are amazing when you decide to do something you stick to it. Congratulations on getting the courses in over your heads LOL! The title had me thinking something was not right, LOL! I know that you won't ever have to worry if a big storm comes like did before and hid under the A-Frame where the walls around the house were solid and you rode it out. Fortunately no big disaster other than to the chicken house on wheels if my memory serves me correctly. See you in the next one and have a prosperous and safe week.

I agree with your commentary about not hiring the work out. I've been asked that many times with my handyman business because people didn't understand I was satisfied doing the work. The fun of the work is knowing you did it and did it well...together. My parents still tell the story about pouring the driveway themselves at their house while Mom was pregnant with me.

I was already questioning myself if I missed any video. The past couple of weeks the new videos were dropped on UA-cam from a regular Sunday to Wednesday and now Thursday. This is for sure one of their hardest works and it shows on the video as well as the timings new videos drop. Hang in there guys, we’re rooting for you.
I would have hired out the laying the concrete blocks without a doubt. Dreams or not! Time saved could have been spent on those tasks that you guys excel at to move the project ahead sooner!
