- I met with my team during a previous team meeting and they asked me to to put together more termite photos. Went through some of my archive and put together around 100 photos to review of termites and other WDI. The liked it enough for me to share it. Let me know what you think.

I create videos to help better inform home Inspectors, buyers, sellers, and realtors on how to find everyday problems with their houses/properties. I will also have guest speakers that work closely with the real estate trade.

FYI capenter ants in the home can be a warning sign that moisture is getting into the walls or outside wood somewhere, as they will set up a satellite nest in you wood if its' moist.
Well Sterling, CO fans of yours are happy to see exactly how to handle termites, especially in mobile homes. They have them as pets.
Wow... this is pro-level information. Thank you!!!!
I have no idea how I got into watching this but I watched the whole video. Aaaand I’m glad I did. This was very informative. Thank you.
Thx you for the tips I'm about to start a new job as an exterminator so I need to learn thank you
Thanks for posting Chris. All your videos are extremely helpful!
This is a really great video man. A lot of good information and fundamental advice on recognizing termite damage. Excellent. Thank you so much
Termidor the best stuff to use? Dig up a little trench around the foundation
Getting nightmares tonight for sure.
Me too
For dry wood termites, using an IR sensor has been a huge help. Especially when needed if to locate their galleries in the insulating foam people are getting in their crawlspaces and homes. We use it for subs too if we get a tough infestation we can’t find (which is rare but does happen.)
Nice!
very thorough! love the pictures and details example. thank you!
Good job and information.
To the general public. Termite inspections and reports need a different license. Not all home inspectors carry the additional license needed to do the wood destroying insect / termite inspection and reporting. Don't turn away a good inspector because they don't have the license and don't assume all home inspectors can inspect and report on termites. Many home inspectors carry the license to do home inspections and termite inspection.
Keep up the good videos Chris, you do a good job.
You are wealth of knowledge, appreciate you compare dry rot, termite, and presence of both in the same wood. Truly enjoy your podcast style video 👍
Please do a video on wood borers as well.
Thank you for the info. I would like you to see the type of bugs I found at the bottom of my front door
very informative , great video
My inspector was so useless he missed injection holes in the foundation from previous activity and he didn't even check my sill plate!!
Same after watching this I know exactly how they got into the home…. He missed 8 eaten joists our home is structurally damaged
helpful
For drywood termites can we still use solignum without changing the woods just to prevent it from getting worst or we should change all the woods then apply solignum first? Thabk you
Thanks for the awesome video! I see some pest company drill hole in the soil instead of digging a trench. Is this still a proper treatment?
Depending on the chemical used but most commonly you need to trench to follow the requirements
So there are sub terrainian swarmers and also western dry wood swarmers ? I had a bunch of swarmers under my porch light on my front porch but they had black head and body not red heads 🤷♂️ man I’m confused lol
How do you kill termites
Can termites come in a new boxed computer desk that i just bought? For some reason my new desk has been making me itchy?
I saw bubble stucco- on the wall - out side my back door - patio , I get a stick - hit hard - stucco fall out -

What is it that I found in my closet? It's a big pile of sand and inside the grainy sand was little black bugs I'm in wisconsin thanks

Carpenter Ants please

Are shelter tubes always present when termites are infesting a home?
Depends on the type of termite it is. They do normally use shelter tubes.
The visibility is a in question though. They will use them behind the walls too
How do dry wood termites get into your home?
They fly up there
@@reksmeyok1957 Oh, lord, I am glad we don't have those, just the ground termites!
I have been observing some creamish powder like substance in my newly renovated kitchen cabinet, and I had already done pest control for termites before we renovated, so was wondering what could be causing that.
Do you see pin holes in random location in the cabinets?
Does it show again in the same spot after you clean it?
Yes, it shows up in the same spot after I clean it. And I did see pin holes in 2-3 places, but my furniture is laminated and the hole are seen on the laminate. I have some pictures, of the insect as well, how do I share it with you?
@@neethapanicker5096 this sounds almost like powder post Beatles. Look up their frass and see if matches. They could have come in with the wood of the cabinets. Hiw@aactionhouston.com for pictures.
@@AActionHomeInspectionHouston Thank you, I have sent you some pictures. The holes you see is actually on a laminate pasted on wood. Please let me know what do I do to get rid of them.
A couple days ago I noticed a dark object close to the ceiling in our
bathroom, above the door. I thought it is some kind of black butterfly,
so I decided not to bother it and let it fly away next day. Next day I
saw several other "butterflies" sitting on another side of the same
wall, which is our master bedroom wall. They were also located above the
same door to the bathroom. I decided to remove them with a rag and let
them fly outside. On the removal I saw that they are not black
butterflies, but some kind of black stuff w/larvae inside. I also
noticed small holes in the drywall, about 1/8" X 1/4". I decided to
patch those holes next day w/ a spackling paste, but next day I saw that
the black mounts came back (they are like small mounts perpendicular to
the wall), 8 of them on the wall in the master bedroom, 1 hole in the
bathroom above the door and 1 on the ceiling of the bathroom, like 1
yard to the door. I started to do a research on youtube and fortunately
came across this film. I looked outside (it is a brick wall) and didn't
see any signs of activity, so I think they are termites which got into
the wall. The larvae bugs have a bit orange on the head, 2 black bugs
are one w/wings and another without them. I'll take the glass container
w/them to HD store for identification, but most likely they are
termites. While I was doing research and drinking coffee (like in 2
hours), the mounts were formed again. So if I pour some of the granules
of the Termite Killer into those holes would it be sufficient treatment?
The granules will fall down and the termites are located closer to the
ceiling (I even think they might come through the roof, bcs previous
year we had some trees cut near that bathroom, maybe those bugs were on
the brunches). I think maybe now I need to spray the roof in that area
w/some liquid termite Killer, like the Taurus SC. Thank you very much
for the informative film.
My previous relationship: great guy, his "friends" were termites that ate through what we had, it destroyed him. #killtermitesatSource #movedon #TurkishDelight
Termites has 3 body segments 🙄
As a home inspector you do not detect-inspect or report wood destroying insects.
I don’t know how many times I have told you this. We operate as two different companies. So we can identify termites. Maybe you can’t because you are an inspector only.
Could've zoomed in more. Can't really the damage clearly on certain clips
Even a home inspector who lacks the WDI license can report of “damage suspected to have been caused by WDI, recommend that a professional WDI inspection be performed to confirm.”
