“Your hand is staining my window” That line is brilliant- it shows how petty she is but you could also look at it as like a metaphor for their relationship. Nurse Ratched sees Mac as someone who dirties up her clean ordered world.
What I like about this scene is how Nurse Ratched gets exactly what she wants. Mac leaves the nurses station, takes his medicine and cleans the mark he made on her window, returns to his seat and the music stays at the same volume. It’s a good example of how Nurse Ratched is in total control and yet seems totally innocuous.
Because she understands that the way you get power in social situations is to remain calm and level headed, whilst being assertive, while everyone else is losing their shit and freaking out
She also likes the chaos the loud music creates. Mac sees it plain as day, everyone has to yell over the music just to talk. Nurse Rached loves creating chaos
