      That's a pretty ill-informed opinion... Sure, Marvel movies suck etc... But what about modern cinema like: Birdman, 3 billboards outside ebbing missouri, a serious man, no country for old men, the lobster, prisoners, the shape of water, you were never really here, the master, there will be blood, get out etc etc. Either you've never seen those films and therefore don't really deserve an opinion on modern cinema or you don't like those movies and that's sad...

      Me too...I'm a huge fan. Made my day. I was a little kid when it came out and I remember it very well because it was the only movie that had F words on regular TV. In Southern California way back in the 80's, channel 5 used to show it in it's entirety uncut. It would show a warning about foul language before it came back from commercial break. The movie is close to my heart and they better never..never remake it.

    Gene Hackman, Jack Nicholson, Albert Finney, and Al Pachino. That is a damn fine list of actors! Albert Finney didn't have as successful a career as the others did, but he did just fine I am sure. The actors who win these days are no where in the same league as these men.

    • @adamredfield
      @adamredfield 6 років тому +29

      link004, One reason that Finney might seem less successful than the others is that Finney was (and is) a classically trained British stage actor. Chinatown and Cuckoo's Nest are absolute classics, but The Last Detail was pretty damn good too. Jack was on FIRE in the 70's.

      @@gregbors8364 I still lean towards Cuckoo's Nest, but the scene when he's talking to his father in Five Easy Pieces was as good as Jack ever got. Great film.

    All I see is Brad Dourif in the back trying his heart out to make sure his face is in the shot. As hand's down the best performance in Cuckoos Nest I find this to be ironic and adorable.

    My life has changed a lot since I encountered the movie, One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest.
    It's one of the most influencial films along with other great movies such as Tokyo Story(Ozu),Seven Samurais(Kurosawa).
    I was really moved and my idea about movies has grown out into new profound one.
    I purchased Red Wing Boots Jack wore on the movie shortly after I watched the film.

That the whole members of the cast stayed in character is absolute phenomenal and shows true actor spirit and comradeship! Also probably the best merchandise for their movie that not just gave Nicholson but also Louise Fletcher their first Oscars lol

    That was one of the greatest acceptance speeches in awards history because not only did he win that night, but he also foreshadowed his Oscar win for One Flew Over the Cuckoos Nest. This was also genius of the producers to have him market and pitch his OFOTCN to much anticipation for the following year.
