He definitely cut a fatass check for parts alone. Also trial and error, + fab. I wrenched on cars as my job 9 years now its nothing i hate more than working on my car. Also my off time is better spent relaxing or time with family. That said i could diag, tear down, and rebuild an LS or a Coyote in a day.

Wish he talked more about how he made the 4x4 setup work. Im sure its alot of custom parts but would be interesting to hear how they came about it.

You use parts from a Crown in Japan which had a 2jz AWD. More likely a custom LSD for the front and I'm sure there are adapters for the TH400

@@Makten12 Pretty close. Hot Rods were basically trucks/powerful stock cars with any extra parts taken off to save weight. That was one of the only ways to make your car faster at the time, since they still used heavy steel for every body component.

Yep, they're using R32 GT-R parts underneath. Both the RB from Victoria and the SR from Sydney ones do. 👍

Look at how they put a th400 in a gtr and keep it awd it's probably close to that
I have a feeling the owner doesn't want to discuss to much about it. Being they specialize in 2J swapped cars, maybe he sees it as 1 up on other shops. He could be working on a patent or something as well. My guess is he likely just doesn't talk much about it because he's worked his butt off to figure it all out and doesn't just want to spoon feed it to everyone.
4WD, notice the manual lever for it where the E-brake handle is? its a standard 4X4 TH400 setup, although yeah id love to see him go into the front diff mounting & how he actually did it vs just speculating based on the little info we can infer

it's not. it's social media and youtube making you think it is. 1000hp existed in the same amount back in the day, but everyone only knew their local city's best cars, youtube makes it LOOK common. this is why so many kids get in way over their heads thinking they could easily build the same thing. truth is it's still hard and astronomically expensive as it always was. even more so now with the nostalgia tax on all old good motors.

This 240 is a work of art! Mad props to Alberth for building this monster! You can tell he was determined and fully dedicated to transforming the platform. He’s definitely minimizing the information provided, and it’s respected. Not everyone deserves to know what went into making this thing AWD. It’s all trial and error and I’m sure he went through it!

He said Turbo 400 gearbox. So, using that info, it would be an adaptor plate from gearbox to the 2JZ and most likely an R32 front diff to the transfer case to the gearbox. 👍 So like the R32s that use Turbo 400s here, but without the ATTESA system. 👍

@@MafiaboysWorld Yeah, I imagine just an R32 oilpan/diff, but how do you mate a tcase to the TH400? All the GTR's are manual and the shifter assembly is built into that section of the trans if I'm not mistaken right?
@@topnotchtsi You obviously don't watch much about Skylines do you. Nearly EVERY quick R32/33/34 GT-R here is an auto, using a Turbo 400 or Powerglide gearbox. 👍 Maatouks, CRD, MSM, all use autos in their quick cars. 😎

did I miss it, or did he not say how he did the 4wd setup? The only discussion about the 4wd was that it had it.
Yeah, definitely keeping that under wraps. One can imagine it is using a modified GTR oilpan/diff as well as maybe something like a Porsche transfer case mated to that TH400. The driveshafts/axles would be simple I imagine. Front spindles, I'm not sure.

@@MafiaboysWorld doubt its gtr stuff. More probable its Toyota altezza Gita parts (awd Lexus is300) or parts from the awd Toyota chaser. Most likely its parts from a bunch of vehicles like the one I seen don was a Ford transfer case and a Toyota century front diff.
@@shifty1927 You're fitting it in a Silvia, which has been already proven to work as a bolt-in option with Skyline front parts on other Silvia's that have had the same Turbo 400 conversion. So Turbo 400 + R32 front diff + S14 rear. 😎👍

I know there was an altessa that was awd and there's a few over here in Oz that are awd and the old full race R14 setup. I'm at that power level with my 14 at the moment and have awd on the cards at the moment but there's not a lot of info around about how to do it properly. Awesome work getting it dialed and keen to see the improvements as it goes.
