Are people on traineeship required to pay tax as well?

Hi Magda, as someone who is moving to Lux in October for work, would you recommend staying at an airbnb until I get accustomed to the areas and can make a better decision as to where I want to rent? The Company is providing me with a relocation allowance that I can spend on either airbnb or hotel until I find a place, but I'm opting for airbnb since it's cheaper and I can stay for longer before the allowance runs out.

Hello, yes why not if they give you that opportunity anyways - it's also a good idea to save some money from few weeks of rent. If you come here is gonna be easier to see the flats in person and avoid scammer however remember that if you come in Oct it's already a hot season for renting - what you could do is try to find the flat before coming from half Oct or Nov or whatever is the time you stop being at Airbnb and if you find something better you just take something else - just so you're not left without a flat - some agencies rent the rooms even 2-3 months before a person comes that's why

Hello, I don't think it's the best place money wise because the expenses are relatively high but for sure it will be nice in a way of meeting new people because it's super easy here 😌

Do you think a gross salary of 40.000 euro is a good salary for an assistant officer in Luxembourg?

Hello, assistents are mostly paid a bit less than juniors, so I would say it's possible however if you don't wanna be assistent for life and you have higher education degree I would recommend going for normal junior position without assistent in title because for example in EU institutions that make your career super difficult to go back to normal not assistant roles (which means less money than usual employees forever). However, for assistant position if you're satified with job as an assistant or you don't have higher education and that's why you chose it I think it's nice salary yes (unless you have like 5 or more years of experience than no). I hope it helps!
