@@staleydu1 decent actors can be funny, but great comedians can be amazing dramatic actors. jim carrey and robin williams were the greatest clowns of their generation, but watch them in drama and it's a whole new level
Joe Qunicy is a character I didn't think Matthew Perry could handle. I was wrong. Perry gave a strong performance with each of his appearances on West Wing. I always enjoyed that he was introduced as the male Ainslie Hayes.
I liked that it wasn't personal. He wasn't trying to cause trouble on his first day. He almost seemed like he was trying to avoid it. But it just all kinda fell into his lap and he just happened to be a Republican so I would have imagined the party was pleased.
@@benfoxworth9826 Yeah, that phone conversation with the reporter where he drones on and CJ and Joe exchange looks and point at phone logs is both funny and chilling.
I’ve been getting all these clips from this show on my home page for a few days now and of course as I finally decide to start the actual series, it was removed from Max, but not the Max subscription on Prime. Make it make sense. 🙄
I liked the character of Joe Quincy on The West Wing and i'm wondering if Matthew Perry liked playing him since it was a different kind of character for him to play.
This role got Matthew Perry his role in the Sorkin-created Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip and a drug addiction storyline parallel to his own. Stuff hard to face on your own, let alone in front of millions of people forever. RIP
Love all of Aaron's series (and the film), that "behind the scenes" of various industries. But it always seems to fall down when he's not there. 😡 The very best cold open IMO might be the elevator scene to start 60's ep2... "Oh, I set the bar high?... Clear it!" *elevator doors close, theme starts*. 😛
You can no longer watch The West Wing on MAX as of the New Year, 2025. Please update your description with an accurate link, since now it links to a dead page.
I have not seen it anywhere else. Was on Netflix for a long time. Batman deal for the dark night may have something to do with it. Both are not available on streaming right now. May have to go back to the dvds I have the whole series on dvd.
I don't see why he Susie's the VP over that interaction when Leo listed maybe a dozen people it could be. I know later he checked phone logs after the interaction in Toby's office
Joe Quincy made for a very compelling character on the series. RIP Matthew Perry
Friends showed one part of his capability. When I saw him in West Wing, frankly I forgot Chandler Bing. That was how good he was.
@@stephenconway2468 And he was a real SOB in The Good Wife.
He should have had AT LEAST as big a part as Ainsley and BOTH their parts should have been bigger.
Matthew Perry showed he was a better drama actor than comedy. That’s saying something

I honestly think Joe Quincy was Perry’s greatest role. He was letter-perfect IMO, and I wish he’d been a regular.

@ Another brilliant performance of a wonderful secondary (tertiary?) character! Emily Proctor knocked Ainsley out of the park.
No. He is Chandler
It was an excellent role for Perry, a brilliant actor gone too soon
it got him the lead for Studio 60...wish that was a better show
I love how he was worried he went to the boss with something crazy and Leo is like "Nah that was the DOD not us" 😂😂
Matthew Perry was a good addition to the cast. Very underrated dramatic actor.
And a terrible swimmer.

The look Josh gave Donna was like "TF you just say?" Those two were amazing together
You did good, Matty. Rest in peace..
Hell of a first day, taking out the VP like that.
Great story writing and great acting.

Oohh the tapping was a bird! Funny that both Donna and Josh both said stop it 🤣🤣
Life on Mars is the best episode of the series to me
He was so good in this role.
This was an amazing episode.
Great occasional character. You really felt he was making the role his own.
my favorite episode
(followed closely by 'the supremes')
I was so impressed with him when I watched his episodes.
I really loved seeing Matthew Perry in the West wing
I love that Leo says “Ray Bradbury YARN”, like he’s an old sailor trading stories over a fire.
Brutal editing gives us just the first half of the first day…
Agreed. We needed to see him speak with CJ.

seriously, don’t pick up the book Magnetic Aura unless you’re ready to see things differently, no joke.

One of my favorite episodes of this series. Wish it wasn’t taken off Max!!
What?
I have all the box sets but I still more often watch an ep.or.two on streaming. They're dropped now? 😡
Good first day, takes out the vice president
One of my favourite episodes, not sure if it's cause Matthew Perry was in friends but would have loved to have seen him more in TWW
Loved Matthew in WW
Wish they had more episodes of Joe but I know Matthew probably wasn’t available for more.
Your link doesn’t work.
Didn't these two guys work together on a show after Friends ended???
Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip
I wish they'd kept him on

Magnetic Aura book by Takeshi Mizuki ain’t for everyone, it’s for people who actually want to get ahead.
This role showed everyone that Mathew Perry should've done more dramatic roles.
if you’re not ready for real change, skip the book Magnetic Aura by Takeshi Mizuki, it’s too much for most people.
don’t read the book Magnetic Aura by Takeshi Mizuki if you’re fine staying like everyone else, it’s not for you.
you probably shouldn’t read the book Magnetic Aura if you’re cool with missing out on how attraction really works.
