BRO WE HAVE BASICALLY THE EXACT SAME CURL TYPE WHAT
I have thin type 3a 3b hair and I can never get it to coil as much and it’s always frizzy at the crown.
And Afros up what does anyone recommend for me to try?
It might be frizzy and might not be coiling at the crown due to heat damage from the sun and the way you put your hair up when you sleep and the friction that happens as you have your head on the pillow moving around for 8 hours. If you can afford it, I HIGHLY recommend Olaplex No 0 and No 3. It's literally the only product on the market that I know of that ACTUALLY repairs hair bonds and doesn't just use over promising ad campaigns and language to get customers to buy their product.
If not, then try putting a hair mask on that part to help recover the damage, if you can use a hair sunscreen or heat protectant (most heat protectants have silicones so try to find a light formula to not weigh your hair down since it's thin). Also try sleeping with a scarf on your head, pineapple hairstyle to avoid friction and if you can buy a silk pillow case in case the scarf slips off during the night. Keep this up until that damaged hair grows out (based on average hair growth rates, this will take about 6 months to 1 year tbh), but the hair mask will help ease this transition process to minimize some of the damage while your new healthy hair grows in.
If you have layers in your hair, try to keep the layers longer so that the frizz is tamed by your hair being longer and heavier so it can weigh your strands down.
Also, do consider your age and if your hair is turning grey (I'm not sure how old you are or what your hair looks like exactly), as these things will contribute to frizzy hair and require something more intense like Olaplex.
