Alyssa Thomas was unleashed! Jackie Young was feeling it. Satou was good, but got tired, due to her lack of stamina. Nyara got hit early a few games ago and I don't know what the report on her is to date. It was a great move by Reeve to get Taurasi out of there and limit Chelsea. I feel like Loyd is the one that has not gotten her true opportunity yet, as well as Kahleah. But Loyd has to do more than take 3's that don't go in. I really like how Plum picked her spots really well, and when she focuses on being a distributor with such great talent around her, she is even better. She ALSO focused on being a pest to Peterson on the defensive end. THAT is using her energy and motor, for the good of the team! Aja and Stewie are still cheat codes. The height of Germany messed with Aja's head at first and then she settled down and made some tough shots. Their versatility was unrivaled by Germany's slower players.
Yes, we had a slow start, but regardless I thought we had some amazing moments; Jackie Young for instance was phenomenal today!!! A'ja, Thomas & Stewy were on point, even if it took a sec for them to rev up. I'm loving this team; it's been magical to witness them 😍

Hey Quita. Thank you for your clarity and insights I was a lady longhorn season ticket holder in the 80’s& 90s and watched the first few years of WNBA. Since then only caught an occasional game. Games were hard tofind on tv And most of the time since then I didn’t have cable or a tv. But now I have a tv snd ways to stream and am retired. Because I am finally able to and have the time to watch all of the games I decided this was the year that I would get back into actually following the W. I have been loving following the W snd catching up on some of the herstory of the W. Watching you has given me knowledge and insight I wouldn’t have otherwise which has greatly increased my pleasure in following the W and now the Olympics. Thank you! PS. I don’t know anything about the 3x but sm intrigued me and enjoyed what little bit I’ve seen at Olympics. Hopefully you can educate us on rules snd strategy etc when they start playing here. Haven’t lost a game since 1992. This isn’t the best USA team but I think they will still win. In my opinion, it’s a good thing. Rookies like Reese and Clark get some rest and will be ready to end the season in their best form. If anything, this is going to hurt the WNBA teams with a lot of Olympic players like Arizona.
I love that earlier in the year, Team USA said they'd bring the strongest 12 players. It's been clear for months that that wasn't the case. I'm glad that USA will likely win, but the duplicitousness of Team USA make me sad as an American.

Olympic basketball is super physical. The whistles you would get in the wnba, you get none of during the Olympics. Fouls all over the place, moving screens. Hardly any calls.

Anyone notice how the international teams, despite FIBA rules being ''so physical", have been able to defend very well without chopping anyone in the head or cheapshot/knocking anyone to the floor? Kelsey Plum showed her chops in the 2020 Olympics 3x3. Brittney Griner belonged on the 3x3. She's a shadow of herself since returning from Putin's gulag. DT is gotten old and didn't deserve to be on the team. Taurasi took Arike or Caitlin's spot. It's not how you start, it's how you end the game. Lastly, Coach Reeves is a defense first coach. She believes that defense triggers the offense. I agreed with her adjustments. Defense took the wind out of Germany's sails. She's stubborn regarding who she starts but in the end she made all the right moves.
Ionescu needs to shoot more. Many times she passed on open shots. Plum is gritty and likes to mix it up. I feel so at ease when Stewie is in the game and Griner needs to be more aggressive.
I know Germany fans will come to watch! They don't play with their team. All European teams are incredible supporting their team they always go out there. But i am rooting for Belgium.

She whines when she gets fouled and the WNBA and then walks back on defense; because of this she would be a defensive liability. So NO way should she have gone. Arike yes. Clark is NOT a true point guard. She’s a true shooting guard. She’s being developed into a pg though because her shooting is so bad now.

Clark is a hit or miss some games, she only scored 4 points with 24 mins during the all stars vs USA yet she was a starter. She went 2-9 out of field goals and 0-7 on 3pointers. That’s certainly not Team USA material let her be a rookie and grow like she is! Over time she will get comfortable but right now her fans are putting too much pressure on her to be better than everyone in the league give her a break.

Olympic basketball is super physical. The whistles you would get in the wnba, you get none of during the Olympics. Fouls all over the place, moving screens. Hardly any calls.

Kelsey Plum showed her chops in the 2020 Olympics 3x3. Brittney Griner belonged on the 3x3. She's a shadow of herself since returning from Putin's gulag. DT is gotten old and didn't deserve to be on the team. Taurasi took Arike or Caitlin's spot. It's not how you start, it's how you end the game. Lastly, Coach Reeves is a defense first coach. She believes that defense triggers the offense. I agreed with her adjustments. Defense took the wind out of Germany's sails. She's stubborn regarding who she starts but in the end she made all the right moves.
Gray was injured... and Dino Saurasi was extinct.

Ionescu needs to shoot more. Many times she passed on open shots. Plum is gritty and likes to mix it up. I feel so at ease when Stewie is in the game and Griner needs to be more aggressive.

People said Britney Griner for political issues but DT and Chelsea Gray because their current performance and stats was not better than Arike and Caitlin. This is why no one wants to root for USA.
