Thank you for this! I've been doing characters by sculpting and retopology, but I do want to give the modeling only approach a try, this is a great guideline of what should I go for. Also thank you for the reference
DISCLAIMER. Just an FYI for those looking to get in the industry. This is am extremely outdated way of modeling. What would actually happen is you would sculpt the model in clay using a program called zbrush. Basically it's very similar to traditonal sculpting/fine arts. Then you would make your low res in Maya and bake the details down using a normal map. Or you would just use the model to print and engineer it if you were going the collectible route.
Thank you 🙏🙏.I know that. But this video is for those who haven't learn z brush. And you can make low ploy model base here and sculpt in z brush to I think 🤔🤔
@@deity2880 doesn't matter how you do it. But for a high poly. I would usually just start with basic primitives in zbrush and treat it like traditonal clay for personal projects. Zbrush also comes with mannequin you can use. But in house we just have pre established base meshes and you sculpt over them. Or even nowadays we make heavy use of scan data. But for personal projects I try to make it as hard as possible and really train my eye. A lot of times I even sculpt without symmetry to challenge myself further
At 9:51 when you select "Append to Polygon," it selects both sides of the shape at once. When I do it, it only selects one side, and only applies the tool's actions to whichever side is selected, not both at the same time. Did you do something else after you clicked "Append to Polygon" to select both sides?
@@helenskinaorem7690 you can move your pivot point by pressing key bord command D once and snap your pivot with vertex by pressing V. After that again press D to come back normal mode. Then Go to Edit then duplicate special option box. And then put - in front of scale menu which axis you want your copy.
I created this model bt after few days i changed my computer and transfer this file to another and then i'd reopen that file all the things has been messed up 😞... All faces positions changed... that girl body looks like a demon body.. please give some ideas that i can regain my model

Are you saying that all models must be created with Maya?
@@Cocoa-mania no
I was taught to make a basic model in Maya then port it over to Zbrush and put in all the fine details
