Thank you for the cast Sybert. There is a noticeable contrast between Pika and DutchArmy; Pika looks at the clock and sees that is time to resign. DutchArmy on the other hand has no problem to play losing positions. I welcome/prefer DutchArmy's attitude. If you never give up, for sure you will suffer for 99 games out of 100 and it might be painful to watch and look silly to your opponent. But you will win that 1 out 100 game, that amazing game, that Sybert will cast and everyone will remember forever. Pika resigns so often, he might even missed a few of the games like that. DutchArmy almost got that one win with mechabay capture. p.s. tournament with Dimon and DDF in it; and not one game with Soviets -_-; one thing left if for Dimon to switch to Allies and we will have AvA all the time.
All players showed an excellent game. Dimon finally rediscovered hope for the players. The fact that he built turrets to protect the base is against the cryogenic rush. I hope there will be more games like this!
Dimon not only play once or twice MCV Empire sell, but all through the game. This mad lad is very consistent and very good at it. I miss his soviet play tho... Anyway thanks Sybert for casting the match. Your content is always nice to watch ❤
bruh i haven't played this game for over 13 years.. still not playing though, but i love your content and the way you commentate! real nice to watch thank you!
for months was hoping that you cast this event and voilà! thank you, Sybert, great job at keeping this game alive and these top-level matches covered! i enjoyed every second of it
Thank you so much once again for the video Sybert! Major thanks to RageofHeat for organizing the tournament! That was a truly amazing tournament finals!
2:47:09 I'm complete noobie and that move by dutcharmy was really good, but wouldn't it be better to not sell the mechabay and just start building tsunami tanks to harass dimon's base forcing him to defend it and win some time? once again i'm complete noob and just really curious if that would be better, anyways props to dutcharmy for such a cool move
As others said it Dutcharmy was really low money and was with his back to the wall on the defensive. Selling the Mecha bay for 1000 is a big sum of instant money he can immediately use at his home base where he needed it the most. Building tsunami tanks at the other side would 1) take more time 2) need more money and 3)would not help him defend his home base and his home base was under the greatest threat.
That was by far the best Red Alert 3 tournament I ever saw. Dutch Army looked so dominant in the qualifiers I thought he had a strong chance of winning the tournament but Dimon has just found a way to exploit a build thats on another level when it comes to early pressure on to your opponent. Well done to Dimon and everyone else that took part.
thank you sybert for the awesome cast. always enjoy watching you cast RA3. please keep it up and congratulations to Dimon. Guess he challenge himself to MCV sell all the way to the top.
Exactly, when other players have done this build it's with a much lower success rate than what you see here. Dimon is one of those players that kind of just breaks the game because of how good he is.
Empire won, but the games still show how weird the balance is. * Not even Dimon bothers with soviets anymore * Allies just get flat out win by cryo rushes on some maps * Even when allies play half assedly (dropping full three bombs on single imperial warrior during infantry push? cmon) empire has to barely scrapely together a win off an early timing all in.
This was the first time in a long time where I saw someone really commit to an all in more than once in a tournament, and it kind of feels like a response to Allied cryo tactics. Maybe Dimon feels that it's his only option, or maybe he just thinks that gives him the best chance of winning.
Can somebody explain to me why one would build Apollo's and let them face whole groups of Tengu's which they cannot match and watch them die endlessly? I don't get it. Build IFV's!
Apollos can cover Vindicators better than IFVs, and don't require an additional production structure. In a mixed fight of air & ground units, some of the IFV shots will inevitably go on ground units and Vindicators will go down fast to tengus, which then transform to help the ground fight as well.
@@joshuayung5158 valid points. Still I think the Apollo's need some sort of help against Tengu's. They simply can't deal with large groups of them and are much more expensive
@remonfelix6511 I also think this is the Dimon strategy at work. He hits with 5 or so tengus and infantry because of his MCV sell when most Empire players have half the tengus or none of the infanty. This forces the vindicator bombing runs to be used on emergency targets instead of desired targets. 2 Apollos can pretty easily handle 3 or 4 tengus especially if they've been softened up with vindicator bombs, but when the vindicators are bomb splitting between infantry then the a half dozen tengus get to rush the Apollos, forcing them to pull back and letting a Tengu transform on top of the collector, splitting the Vindicator target priority even further. I'm not anywhere near these guys level, but I'm legitimately at a loss at how to defend it without full selling on defense. Even then the average base has lot of ground to cover. Dimon hits early, when armies are still small, then just drags it into an economic gutter fight and makes it a war of attrition. It's smothering to watch his opponents go down to one harvester as he used the pressure to steal their oil derrick as well.
Soviet are OP in only one way: Dimon prefers that faction. In every other way they're either weak or easily countered. I mean, how many tournaments end up with soviets in finals played not by Dimon?
Bike has played RA3 a number of times, but doesn't like it enough to get really good. He prefers KW, similarly those who play RA3 tend to prefer it over KW and don't cross over.
I tested this once, had a computer opponent trapped and ran over like 50 harvesters using an apoc to drag them out of the the mines. Didn't get a single promotion.
So Dimon is Russian. How does he hope to get the prize money if all the shit is under sanctions? I mean there are ways, but who would bother just for him?
@@steelbear2063 Don't blindly believe the crypto hate. It is nothing more than a digital currency. Yes, there are extra steps, however this process can be completed within a day and there isn't a lot of loss on the money either (Around 10~ $'s of transaction fees total). He does kinda spoil the winners of the individual semi finals via the chapter length tho.

He didn't have any money. If he kept mecha bay, he would have to abandon his home, which allow Dimon to snowball faster.
