- Née à Hong Kong, Suzi de Givenchy a vécu aux Etats-Unis avant de poser ses valises à Paris. Compagne du neveu du célèbre couturier Hubert de Givenchy et mère de 3 enfants, elle nous invite aujourd’hui dans son appartement, un espace hétéroclite où se côtoient aussi bien objets design, vintage et souvenirs d’une vie de globe-trotteur. Une créative dans l’âme, passionnée de dessin et d’écriture, mais aussi de mode. Une mode au chic intemporel, qu’elle affirme arborer en premier lieu pour se plaire à elle-même. C’est aussi avec le désir de transgresser les codes qu’elle mène sa carrière de mannequin à 50 ans et des poussières, défilant notamment pour Off-White. Vogue Paris est allé à sa rencontre pour la rubrique Une fille, un style.

Utterly wonderful to see such a stylish, older woman who is smiling despite the adversities of life and so obviously 'tellement bien dans sa peau'. Yes, her apartment is gorgeous (loving her interior style) but what sings through most of all is her gratitude for the life she has. Suzi, you have made my day. Merci.

In summary, her artist husband died suddenly of a heart attack five years ago leaving her widowed with several sons in a country which is not her native land. She subsequently moved the family to Paris from the South of France and embarked on a career in her 50s as a model, after a chance encounter at a dinner party with a man in the industry who encouraged her, and assumed she would fail given her age and lack of experience.

In the end her personality took over the styling or the appartment. You can have an amazing place to live, but you can only enjoy it if youre happy from the inside. It shows shes a happy person.

I love this apartment ! And I could understand what she was saying because she is not a native speaker and doesn’t talk very fast with thick accent . Shows I can understand French better than I thought!! I’m happy!!
I think it’s because she speaks it with an American accent and it’s probably her third language at least. I love it!

French people speaking French don't have a thick accent, since it's there native language. Plus French don't speak that fast, not faster than any other people in there own language. She on the other hand, does have a thick accent, which isn't American by the way but Asian.

D'avoir pu reconstruire une si belle vie suite au décès de son grand amour Hubert... c'est toute une tragédie surmontée avec grâce et beauté. Inspirante!!!

J’ai rencontré l’un de ses fils lors d’un échange universitaire en Colombie, je l’ai reconnu sur la photo, c’était quelqu’un de très inspirant. Je comprends maintenant d’où vient cette énergie, cette femme est incroyable et tellement apaisante.

Love this woman! Though I do wish people would stop qualifying, per women, as an "older" woman to be admired. No one ever, or rarely says "younger" woman in the same context. And I can't remember men referred to this way, though perhaps but much less so. Can't we just be women? She's funny and unassuming. Beautiful and so is her lovely home.
