One of my favorite details of this fight is how Stitch is portrayed as a brute for most of it (with some exceptions like Stitch surfing on a wave using a piece of debris) which fits with a lot of his characterization throughout the Lilo and Stitch franchise, but when he realizes that it won't be enough to win he actually uses strategy by turning Rocket's OWN GUN that he threw away into a rocket-propelled skateboard and proceeded to dodge the laser from Rocket's big gun due to him knowing that it can actually kill him, stab Rocket and break his control watch to prevent him from teleporting/moving the satellite or his gun, and rams him into Rocket's own satellite. Not only does it show his intelligence and extremely quick-thinking, but it also showcases the statement in the conclusion that Stitch only needed Rocket to mess up once to win.
Agreed. On the opposite end of the spectrum, there is also the demonstration that Rocket's impulsiveness can impede his own tactics. For most of the fight, Rocket's wider arsenal and strategic traps are able to keep Stitch at bay. However, when Stitch's foul mouth starts angering Rocket, that is when Rocket's hot-headedness gets the better of him and he begins using the higher-power weapons. This ironically caused Rocket's doom, because those high power weapons simply aren't as useful against Stitch as the thought-out planned traps. As you said, Stitch started acting smarter as he adapted to Rocket's arsenal. While Rocket slowly started giving in to his impatience as he kept failing to kill Stitch. Building up to Rocket's choice to just use a giant laser instead of his usual layered strategies. Not only does it show that Rocket can allow his emotions to stunt his intellect, but it also showcases the conclusion statement that Rocket could not win a "war of attrition" against Stitch due to Stitch simply being able to tank or dodge most of Rocket's options.
I knew what was gonna happen to my boy. I knew. Much as I'm a Comic Rocket Stan, Stitch is literally BS Personified, mostly cause... Jamba put his own intellect into a creature that is an amalgam of the nastiest, most dangerous creatures in the UNIVERSE.
