Hej guys! This is my first run of the original RE2 from 1998. After I finish this, I will start the Leon B scenario, as I was told it changes and adds to the story of the playthrough, Leon has different puzzles, bosses and so on. Once done with RE2, I'll start my first run of the original RE3, which releases on the 25th on GOG! Also, someone in my chat VERY persistantly told me that the game is ridiculously hard, harder than RE1, and that I HAVE to play it on easy if I don't want to get frustrated. So this run is on easy mode.. unnecessarily so. I didn't struggle at all with anything, but as you know you can't just change difficulties mid game in these older titles. I had fun, but I didn't really struggle ever, I died 2-3 times overall in this run, but it is fnished now.. welp. Maybe I can set a new difficulty for Leon B.
I kinda hope you do Leon A- Claire B as well cause unlike the remake they are different and you actually only get the “true” ending once you play all 4 scenarios.
Nah, difference is slight. Some major differences here and there. If you want to play it just for the sake of completion, that's fine. I say, just go with Claire B, nothing will be missed, and there will be those few major differences in B scenario. When you go again with Leon, it will be the same game all over again. Apart from some very slight differences. Leon is not needed. We had much more time on our hands when we were kids, so we could fool around with all scenarios. I understand that some people like Leon more, and that is why they want you to play it
Actually I did not realize that you can go straight to Leon B, without doing A with him. I don't remember that. In that case, you can go with whatever character you want for B. You can do Leon as he encounters other characters

@@milannesic5718 Unless they changed this in the PC release (I played the PS1 version) you are forced to play Claire B if you played Leon A and vice versa, at least on your first playthrough.
No, A and B are different. But when you go again with Leon after, it will be exactly the same as Claire. Some very slight differences. You misremembered
Great choice, Claire A + Leon B is actually the canon way to play the game. RE2 is a HUGE step up from RE1 with better hitboxes and a dedicated map button, it feels better in every way.
Fun fact. If you can get to police station in under 5 minutes without picking up any items. When you first get to the RPD building go down the stairs instead of the gateless entrance and you will encounter a Zombie named Brad Vickers. If you can take him down you'll get a special key to use in the saferoom with the photolab. It unlocks a different outfit for either Leon or Claire.

Cool tip for anyone who wants to revisit my favorite game, If I remember correctly, the corpses that are just laying there often have ammo if you interact with them a second time after you read the flavor text. Zombies you kill never have loot.
Lol I caught myself smiling because I can see you really like it. :D This is my favourite game in the series by far! Even the lines by the voice-actors are different for Leon and Claire, everything is recorded twice! SICK.
Greatest game of all time. Not a single game could give the feelings and enjoyment that RE2 did. That's what causes RE2 to seperate from others. At least for me , of course :)
my only real complaint is it's too easy and i wish their was a hard mode like in re3. which is why i find it odd that she's playing on easy mode. unless she didn't mean to and accidentally selected easy, but easy was definitely highlighted when she started.
@@LIZZgame yes there's just something special about these older games the art the passion that was put into it, today's game are just pit some new graphics over it and people are blinded by that I wish more people will appreciate older games because those ones have more soul and heart.
Fair play for cracking on at the start in full-limp danger. I would’ve restarted for sure. That showed some nice persistence. Great game and one of the best sequels ever!
Played this when I was like 8 years old when the game came out. Me and my sisters could never get past the first part out of fear 😂 I love resi these days big fan. Thankyou for playing these oldies for us much love ❤
That was a rough start for you but it was damn impressive to watch! The fact that you don't often reload your weapons in the inventory mid fight is even better! Hats off to you, my lady!! The reload animation has been the death of me countless times throughout the older Resident Evil games. I once did a zero save playthrough and died during the Birkin's G4 transformation because I lost count of my current clip. I also made the mistake of thinking I could finish him off on low health instead of healing. Lesson learned.

Claire A Leon B is canon yes, but not gonna lie, it's no excuse to dismiss and ignore Leon A Claire B too. the differences in all 4 scenarios are unique
@KT-rq9id It wasn't meant as a dismissal of Leon A/Claire B, but I have gotten REALLY tired of people most often playing Leon first and Claire second in most of the playthroughs I've seen (including the remake), hence why I made the comment that I did (and also not to mention claiming anyone was ignoring it is especially ironic considering it's the most played version online).
It's so nostalgic watching you play this. I must have beat the game a dozen or so times as a kid. Ill be watching this whole thing lizz. Just subscribed to the channel. I remember there was a secret, if you ran from the beginning of the game to the police station without using any ammo, there was a special zombie in the tunnel outside the station you could kill. He was a bit tanky and faster than the regular zombies. If you killed him you got a key to a locker in the save room/dark room and thats how you got an alternate costume. It was quite the challenge.

Watching this game now, I can see why I was so creeped out by it as a kid with the atmosphere, music, the sounds the zombies make, etc. ugh. I still like the prerendered or hand painted graphics, tooo, it’s like a pixelated realism.
What's really funny Lizz is, back in the 90's we played the crap out of RE2. Like speed running was the goal of every gamer so we KNEW this game inside out at some point. Therefore we were so excited to play the Remake. I can't talk for everyone but I loved the more serious approach at REmake2. All the corners we knew reimagined. The dialogues, well still a bit cheesy but not as gratinated as good old RE2! XD Anyway, my point was. You know experience the Reverse of that! It's so cute to see you falling in love with oldschool Claire and the Police Station once more :3
RE1 was way more confusing I think, way bigger labyrinthian map! I would have gotten so lost as a kid.. or poop my pants before getting far at all haha
Awesome Lizz! I played this one quite a lot. You just met Joseph Kendo who created the Samurai Edge handgun for the S.T.A.R.S. members based upon the Beretta 92F gun. He made upgrades of this version overtime and RIP to this long time resident of Raccoon City, he'll be missed. Claire A and B are different in their arrangements, you'll find items in unexpected spots, both are really good, same with Leon's versions. I still suggest Residence Of Evil for JJ's playthroughs of these games as well as fan made games. He even interviewed the original actors of the first game! How cool is that? Enter the lickers, one of the most deadliest enemies with their razor sharp claws and tongues that can cut you in half. Nice reaction to that part. If you choose to play all the scenarios, go for it. I'm excited for you to play the third one which came out the year I graduated high school (1999).
Normally at the beginning you run away from all enemies. If you make it to the police station without shooting you will get the key to the wardrobe. Down the stairs in the hallway in front of the police station. There then stands Brad as a zombie. He is the helicopter pilot ( part1 ). Now you must kill him and the key is yours.
I never played the pc version, but I think the controls have an option for auto aim. At the beginning, if you can make it to the police station without picking up anything, you'll find a special zombie outside downstairs that has a special item.

Shotgun and grenade launcher you aim u to pop heads and magnum automatically pop heads. But I love how you entered the small door to find out there’s 6 zombies in the blue hallway lol Or how she walks at a certain angle looks less ke she’s touching herself lol You can also put the knife away the game give you tons of ammo
Yes, when you kill them, they bleed out and they're dead. I played this before when my brother taught me how to play this game back in the 90s when I was a kid.
The good stuff! I remember feeling like the motion in the cutscenes looked so natural. I think it's the first time I saw CG animation that (I assume) was mocapped.

I just picked up a OPS and RE2 so i can play the original for the first time. Just finished Leon A, now im on Claire A. Will play the B scenarios after im done with Claire A
Sorry it’s been forever since I played. But you got the extra bullets and sprays is because you set it on easy mode. Least that’s was easy mode 20 some odd years ago.
I don't have time to watch this now but if you get to a room that let's you take a weapon or hip pouch in the same room, take neither if you can muster by without them... Leon will thank you for it. I feel like a RE having a hip pouch or a weapon is a not spoiler. Sorry, if you think it is. Trust me though. If you come across these and will do scenario B than do Leon and your future self a favor. Leave these items.

No idea why anyone would tell you to play the easiest Resident Evil on Easy. =/ As a heads up for RE 3: That one lets you chose between 'Easy' and 'Hard'. Easy is more of a story mode since you start with most of the weapons and tons of ammo.
Lizz, just heads up through out the game, you’ll encounter dead police men, always check their bodies, there’s ammo. Edit: Lizz I typed wrong search the bodies of dead police officers on the floor.

Btw, after you play all scenarios, you know Leon A and Claire B, this game has a couple of bomb DLC’s you can say, especially the one involving Hunk. It is really hard and challenging would love to see you play it Lizz, just giving you heads up, it is really hard and I’ll take numerous attempts to pass, but it will give you a challenge.

They had so much to work with when making the films... easy money. But they did everything completely different and everything is unrecognisable. Watched the first two then gave up in disgust. Thank the devil those films are over even if the new film series isn't good at all by all accounts of game fans

Old times. Music and movies direction is still suprisingly good. And overall atmosphere. To me RE 2 was also the best in terms of story.

For some reason i always found this version creepier than the remake, same goes for Resident Evil 3

I always like an alternate story of Wesker and Rebecca being a thing. In RE Zero, you play as the team of Wesker and Rebecca.

I just picked up a OPS and RE2 so i can play the original for the first time. Just finished Leon A, now im on Claire A. Will play the B scenarios after im done with Claire A

Sorry it’s been forever since I played. But you got the extra bullets and sprays is because you set it on easy mode. Least that’s was easy mode 20 some odd years ago.
I don't have time to watch this now but if you get to a room that let's you take a weapon or hip pouch in the same room, take neither if you can muster by without them... Leon will thank you for it. I feel like a RE having a hip pouch or a weapon is a not spoiler. Sorry, if you think it is. Trust me though. If you come across these and will do scenario B than do Leon and your future self a favor. Leave these items.

As a heads up for RE 3: That one lets you chose between 'Easy' and 'Hard'. Easy is more of a story mode since you start with most of the weapons and tons of ammo.

Lizz, just heads up through out the game, you’ll encounter dead police men, always check their bodies, there’s ammo.
Edit: Lizz I typed wrong search the bodies of dead police officers on the floor.
I already finished the game with Claire A. Will start Leon B today though.

Btw, after you play all scenarios, you know Leon A and Claire B, this game has a couple of bomb DLC’s you can say, especially the one involving Hunk.
It is really hard and challenging would love to see you play it Lizz, just giving you heads up, it is really hard and I’ll take numerous attempts to pass, but it will give you a challenge.

Hey lizz have you played the stalker games
They had so much to work with when making the films... easy money. But they did everything completely different and everything is unrecognisable. Watched the first two then gave up in disgust.
Thank the devil those films are over even if the new film series isn't good at all by all accounts of game fans
