Suddenly I’m a young teen again. Haven’t heard this in decades. At a time when Charlie’s Angels was the detective norm, Starsky and Hutch was much more raw. The episode Hutch tried to detox cold turkey was intense.
RIP David. My tv boyfriend. I'm gutted you've left us to go sing with the angels. My favorite of his songs is 'Tomorrow Child' - a lullabye which he co-wrote for his children.
Songs from this era are timeless.... The arrangements, the lyrics, the harmonies and melodies just create a wall of sound that makes the productions so lush...
Oh my lord...you've made a international trucker from the uk happy....I'm on tour with the band queen ,and this takes me back to when a young teenager....
And just like that, I am 10 years old and have a crush on Hutch (David Soul) from Starsky and Hutch.😍 Then he releases this song and I am totally in love (as much as a 10 year old can be). I still listen to this song often and get lost in my memories. Great job guys!!!!!

WOW, David Soul! I was so in love with him. Starsky and Hutch was one of my favorite shows back in the day and David played Officer Hutchison and Hutch was my man! This reaction took me back to my youth. I love it!
He was hutch in starsky and hutch.i remember they had a red sports car with a white strip down the side and used to slide over the bonnet to get to the other side of the car fast when they had to chase someone.they had an informant called huggy bear.this was the 70's.
David did alot of Stunts on the early eps- he injured himself but always carried on like the athlete he was. He is in pain constantly now but manages it well, continues to work at 78.
May David RIP, he passed away today at 80. He was born in my hometown Chicago. He had 6 kids, I did not know that I am a 70's kid, we watched the show sometimes. It dealt with social issues of the time.
Shawn and Mel thank you for doing the music reaction David soul don't give up on us David Soul isy favorite actor and singer of all time I have his greatest hits on CD I really enjoy your comments you're a amazing couple
David was such an extraordinary man and there will never be anyone as captivating as he was so grateful my late grandmother introduced me to David soul's music because he was more than Hutch to me ❤ RIP thanks for eight wonderful years on Twitter the only reason for being on that platform that long you are loved and missed ❤
Yes, our Generation had a wide variety of the best music! I loved David, Barry Mannilo but also Pink Floyd & Led Zep as well as Southern Rock- Disco but just for dancing in clubs. We are lucky to have wonderful memories. My husband & I listen to music outside with a glass of wine almost every night. Great for forgetting what a hard life it really was & still is. I have always loved this song and David. He starred in the TV show Starsky and Hutch. He played Hutch. It was one of my favorite shows as a kid. Thanks for reacting to This one. This is also in my 70’s playlist.

Michael Mann was the producer and later he developed "Miami Vice". David was brave enough to take on the role of Rick in the TV show "Casablanca" Bogart fans never gave him a chance but he was Phenominal- David left for Paris ,then London where he still resides.

This one of a few songs he did with a full orchestra. He was quoted as saying at the time how overwhelmed he was" these great musicians for me?" He never understood his celebrity or liked it, except for all the girls he enjoyed! Married 5!
Thank You Shaun & Mel for your beautiful reaction and coments- I shared it to my "It's all about David Soul "site- It was #1 in april 1977 and still comes through in 2022- so happy you loved it- He had 2 # 1 hits and 1 # 2 but theres much more to him including other songs & duets along with movies & TV. I personally think this song is to his 7 year live in Partner who supported his career from 1972-1979 as bad guy in "Magnum force" & Detective Ken Hutchinson in "Starsky & HUtch" Multitalented Man
Love this song, another that was out around the same time was "If You Leave Me Now" by Chicago, if you guys haven't reacted to it I strongly recommend it.
To us who know the song (and back story) from the 70s, this song would be like a millennial today turning on a video and seeing Vin Diesel (or maybe Tom Cruise) suddenly singing a beautiful hit Love Song.
David was first a singer who accidentally turned actor. He has a very empathetic nature & knows what ordinary citizens go thru. He is still an activist for Dogs , he helped with Animal voice to save some asian dogs from meatmarkets but succeeded in making these poor dogs be treated humanely before killed and eaten. He was an activist for Syrians when they were masacurred & trying to migrate to Europe. My favorite movie he did was "Key to Rebecca" but it's only avaiable on Amazon Prime . I had it on VCR but you know how that goes!
In Here comes the brides, David Soul was an actor first, but Bobby Sherman was a singer first before he played on Here comes the brides, television show, I think 🤔
Starsky and Hutch was a hugely popular "cop show" in the 70s. David Soul was Hutch and Paul Michael Glaser was Starsky. Some episodes are on You Tube if you want to check it out.

Great comment...this is my very favorite song that was written or co written by Tony .Tony also wrote ( by himself) " Last night I didn't get to sleep at all" which he offered to the Carpenters.Karen liked the song but refused to sing any song with any reference to drugs...and that song referred to " sleeping pills" So Karen asked for that line to be changed.. which Tony did write any alternative line, but he didn't like that line as much

He was born in Chicago. His Dad was religious affairs director for US government helping the German people reunite after WW2-so he spent his formative year witnessing tragedy and hope in Berlin. Then the family resettled in South Dakota, then Mexico City, he ran away after a year hitchhiking to Minnasota where his sweetheart lived, then NYCity and LA -he moved to Paris then London to do stage work , some TV & movies but mainly making more albums
There's an old Johnny Cash song no one seems to know anymore, you two would love it, Johnny Cash's *"A Thing Called Love."* Its too good to miss, to never hear, and i'd LOVE to see/hear your reaction to it! Thx, love your channel!

Found out literally in the last couple of days that he was actually from the UK!
