Evolution X 7.3 retrofit Android 13 for OnePlus 6+6T How to flash retrofit roms: Full tutorial!

Hey what's up guys welcome back you are watching 4U tech i was using rice droid 8.0 from last few days but we have created community post 3 weeks back for installation and review of new retrofit build for evolution X by Anerin bliss
but as new retrofit build falshing is some what difficult for newbies.
Because new build can not be flashed via twrp nor via OTA update if u r using normal evoX build except retrofit builds.
So I decided to take time with full seperate instructions video for flashing the new builds for OnePlus 6 and 6T.
I will upload seperate video for full review of 25th nov build of evolution X 7.3.
Before start the flashing of evo X download all necessary files given under video description place them in folder inside platform tools of C drive or on the dextop of your device.
You need one windows PC with latest fastboot drivers installed on it if you didn't have that then follow any UA-cam videos available online.
If u r first time going to falsh this build remember u must be on oos 11.1.1 or 11.1.2 build on both slots of your device means you need to falsh official oxygen OS build two times
And If u r already using Android 12 custom roms then you don't need to flash oos firmware
Your bootloader must be unlocked and usb debugging enabled innthe developer setting.
Now boot your phone in to fastboot mode using advance reboot,
Or using vol up+ power button combo after powering off the device.
Connect it to pc using cable and head over to the folder where you placed all donwloded files
So Everything is done here now without further do let's get started.
Ensure you're running OOS 11.1.2.2 firmware on your current slot and bootloader is unlocked with usb debugging on in developers settings.
If you do not have that firmware installed, grab it for you device from the following links:
OnePlus 6:

if u are already on android 12 or 13 roms then no need to flash above oxygen os 11 firmwares.
Download OnePlus 6:
download vbmeta.img, super_empty.img, boot.img, copy_partation.zip and evolution X rom.zip file.

A) flashing commands:
1)vbmeta:
fastboot flash vbmeta_a vbmeta.img
fastboot flash vbmeta_b vbmeta.img
2)boot:
fastboot flash boot_a boot.img

B)Erasing partitions:
fastboot erase system_a
fastboot erase system_b
fastboot erase odm_a
fastboot erase odm_b
fastboot erase vendor_a
fastboot erase vendor_b
C)Initialise the retrofit super partitions for each slot:
fastboot wipe-super super_empty.img
fastboot set_active other
fastboot wipe-super super_empty.img
fastboot set_active other
D) sideloading files:
adb sideload copy_partitions.zip
adb sideload [Evolution X OTA zip name]

And what is the advantage of performing this installation, than installing another Room such as RiceDroid Twrp Normal lets you do it.
Retrofit build using super partation
Anerin created super partation which has bigger size than normal system partation.
So we can flash bigger rom zips (even 2gb so developers can create bigger size updates without compramising features and gapps
And these builds can side loaded from stock recovery because twrp didn't support super for OnePlus 6

If i want to permanently use twrp recovery, what should I do? Or if i want to use any A11 roms that i used to use previously with twrp recovery without any issue, what is the process to swap this recovery with twrp??

Is this exactly how the process is for flashing Pixel Experience 13 on OP6t. The command order on their site is confusing, i thought one needed to flash the copy partition file first, my bad.

Hey, thanks for the video. I have question and an issue related to Evolution X rom for Oneplus 6 which I had saw on this channel only. After installation all is good but I am unable to install the update using the in-build updater of the rom. It is failing I have downloaded the update package several times. And now I don't want to re-install any new rom and then re-install all my apps and everything else. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
to use following process u need adb drivers installed on your device.
Boot to stock recovery
There tap adb sideload
Connect phone to pc
Opn cmd
There type
adb sideload then drag file in cmd hit enter
Wait for flashing once flashing gets 100% done reboot

Nothing will delete it's a dirty flash

how is retrofit different from the usual custom roms? whats the actual difference
Before flashing retrofit dynamic build we need to convert partation scheme to dynamic retrofit system which has large super partation.
So retrofit roms are bigger files with newest features or add ons which can be flashable only on large dynamic partation scheme.
Older builds are smaller in size so developers has to remove some features to make flashable zips.
That's only advantage of retrofit dynamic partation and roms

No just flash the rom via twrp and fomat data.
But if u gets format data error
Try to check mark rm rf setting in twrp setting then format data.
Reboot to twrp again fromat data.
Still if you get error then you need to boot device in fastboot
Do fastboot erase userdata
Then flash twrp again
Then boot to twrp now flash rom as we do in all videos now format data works without issues.
Note:. Format data is necessary others even though your device boots in new rom but you may face bugs

The developer has said to include "./" before every command. Does that make any difference?
No need of that it will not work just type commands as shown in video if u r using latest fatsboot driver's

@@4utech already installed it. Love it. Really makes the difference in terms of performance and makes my old OnePlus 6 and 6t usable. I would love more if it has the same feature of the newest oxygen where it can make mini screen of all apps.
Enable dev settings and search free from multiwi down and force resize setting Toggle.

Bro after every steps followed evo x was installed with stauts 1 and i formated the data and then i clicked on reboot to the system its not rebooting and struck in the fastboot mode in loop

Bro what is retrofit in custom rom means?
Retrofit is a partation scheme for device system
It has added new Dynamic super partation (which is used by all latest devices for seemless updates) for oneplus 6+6t
Which was not present previously.
Its size is also bigger than normal system partition so developers can create big roms with new features without shrinking it's size and they become bigger in update size.
That can only flashable via new big retrofit dynamic partation

How to flash oos on both slots?
If u r already on oos 11 then just download the full ota package of the same firmware and place them in the sd card and flash it via the local install option available in settings.
That's it u r on oos11 on both slots
