@@reelobsession back then you would not have believed how great fishing was, pass literally churned with fish, whitebait would be 3 feet deep on shore jumping out to avoid incoming fish. We would catch back then legal, reds 16 to 22 inches with every cast, big snook and huge black drum. Cast out instant fish on. Remember my dad hooking a big tarpon well over 100 lbs, you would not believe it but my brothers and I would clean fish 2 hours in the morning and 2 in the evening. IN THE 60S Snook were 16 inches or more, no limit on top end or number caught on rod-reel. When I was say 14 I remember a couple who just got married University of Florida grads, who were fishing and pulling in big snook 10 to 20 pounds had at least 8 plus a big REDFISH and I bet 20 pound black drum one morning while we were there. If you can invision this. My first snook was about 12 pounds got it on a trout tout at the curve of the pass just past the river I was maybe 12 years old. Dont think it can remotely compare to those days but it's still good, dredged the pass which helped in last few years.
Nice video man! Heading down to Florida tomorrow planning on throwing some blades and spoons in the surf (I'm not experienced in saltwater) Wish me luck!
Great video, I'll be there next week and will be giving that a try
Best of luck to you, let me know how it goes!
Outstanding been fishing there for 6 decades.
That’s so cool to hear! How is it fishing now compared to back when you started?
