The sound of someone comping and jamming on a Fender Rhodes elec piano just never gets old, classic sound that I have loved ever since early elec jazz in the 70's
Brings back memories of walking on the New York City beaches,Coney Island Far Rockaway Queens smelling the salty air running in the surf playing handball and paddle ball and eating hot dogs and fries back in the day!And seeing the gorgeous females in their swimsuits!
I believe the keyboardist is Neil Cowley - pretty phenomenal. Has his own trio. You can find him on the web. For another similar toe-curling Rhodes solo, check out The Space Between from their 2004 Glastonbury performance with Jim Watson. Sam and Henry had a knack for hiring these incredible keyboardists for their shows. I hope more of these live videos come to the surface eventually. If anyone has anything to post, PLEASE DO!
Neil Cowley also did a one off album under the name Pretz. the album was called Sound Castles and if you love Zero 7 you will probably also love Sound Castles by Pretz... ua-cam.com/video/W3OL1reFt7Y/v-deo.html
When I posted this video it was a different world. I sometimes come back to listen and think about the exact moment I uploaded. In the house was my teenage son who is longer with us, he passed away from a drug overdose. I miss him terribly, especially right now. I never really knew him. You ever feel so bloody lonely, just wishing for a bit of love, and the world keeps right on turning in its arbitrary way. No one’s fault, really, silent sigh…
From 3.56 to 4.20 wouldnt it be great to walk down the aisle to this? Beats the hell out of that boring wedding march and all that other sooky stuff. It's a bit out there, but hey I love it anyway.

Thanks for uploading this gem. My nights may be lonely, but this level of music just takes one right out of one's self.
It’s just so good
crazy cool. if i ever make a movie this song is going with a slow-motion walk.
that bass...
I can´t believe that Zero 7 plays at Montreaux Jazz Festival. Nothing personal to them.
So, guys, a little later, kudos for you!!
Im so with you on this one.
J'aimerais trop revenir dans le passé pour pouvoir y allé à ce festival.... Il y a pas de concert de Zero 7 en ce moment et encore moins en France...
very nice

It would be a "win-win" scenario ;)
did someone catch the name of the pianist?
Who's the solo keyboardist?
He's got wonderful instincts.
Salt water sound
Not sure but apparently he has a friend to share in his poor taste in music...
