Ive been catching shad for several years and have researched extensively on tips to do it. Your video is VERY informative. Well done. Thanks for taking the time and effort.
Hey, you can just throw a bit of net over your right shoulder instead of putting it in your mouth Opens just as well if you keep that balance of half of the weights in your left hand, half of the weights in the right; so take a little bit from either side to put over your shoulder. Might slip off, might not - pin it to your shoulder with the side of your head if it's unbalanced
@SeeInStripes- You're very critical. I'm sure the brand / design of net between a Memphis and a lee Fisher makes all the difference. The guy is a guide. I'm guessing you are too. If he doesn't have success, he doesn't get booked. He has his way, you have yours.
Whole lot of mis-information here. That's not a heavy net. It's good to catch as many shad as you need in 1 throw if possible. It takes shad 12+ hrs to purge, not 5 mins. Greyline tanks are probably the worst available. Good salt recommendation, don't exceed 9g/l concentration. 1 cup per 10 gal is on the high side. You can get pretty sick putting that line in your mouth. Pure oxygen isn't necessary with shad, get a Dannco venturi. Looks like a Memphis net. Try a Lee Fisher.
lol crazy guy, just need a bucket and battery aerator. no need to add dechlorinator and all that jazz just dont leave the fish in open sun. they are going to be used so no need to give them wasted money.
If you fart on a shad they die. This dude guides for a living so he needs this crap, I'm usually picking through 10 dead shad to find one live one in my live well after a couple hours on the water running an aerator

Great video I really like your tips
Very Good, Thank You!
Shad get gilled using 3/8” net where I’m at, have to use 1/4”
great video
im love fishing but you need a bait bucket and a some shad and a oxygen system for them to live if you want live bait
How does he keep talking while biting the net? Lol
what brand and model of boat is that ?
No way in hell am I doing all those steps just to throw a cast net. If it works for him, that’s great
Still looks like they beat themselves against the tank causing bloody noses which kills them at the end of the video.
what is your electric motor ?????
so pretty much you dont need all that fancy crap you just need a 7$ bait bucket and your bait will stay alive
I can confirm they die in bait buckets with an air pump preeetttyyy damn easily.
Anybody know what kind of salt to use and how much.tks
to catch some sand trout
