- Every October, the small North Yorkshire town of Pickering (my home town!) hosts its annual Wartime Weekend - an amazing sight as the entire town goes World War II mad. Here's what happened when I went along to join in the fun.

Kaopuschel I think the town is probably already full for the weekend, it's really popular. Places book up months in advance for the war weekend. Maybe try calling the tourist office in nearby Whitby?
