I was never a bar tender but did work at a pizza place that served crappy, not ar all good, beer in bottles. In the same day I had an undercover officer come in with an under 21 year old. They both ordered a beer and I asked for their IDs. His was all good hers was not. So I said I can give you rootbeer but that's the only beer you are getting here. They said thanks but we will go somewhere else(I know it was undercover as we got a letter days later saying so.) Then that night had a group of 4 adults come in just before closing the dining area. None had IDs. They all asked for beer. I denied them all. They got mad and left a huge mess. They basically had a food fight with salad bar items.
Should it astonish? Age does in no way equal maturity or wisdom, some people just have no grace or dignity and they never will because that involves character in which some folks never work on so they choose to be poor in that account.
Lmmfao the worse I ever did was ask for my homie who ran the kitchen. I had my ID they didnt think my signature was real lol. I can not imagine throwing a fit 😂
bartender/server over 30 years here...the very fact that a entire group of middle aged karens are trying to get into my bar without a single valid I.D. amongst them would be a HUGE sign in my mind that this was a sting by the A.T.F. and every single successive statement from their lips was a attempt to snare me. Bring your I.D.s and quit making everyone's life hard!!!
If for no other reason, carry your ID in case something bad happens to you they can call your family. I was an ER nurse for years and another thing to put in your wallet is a piece of paper with your medical problems, a list of your medications, and any allergies to medications you have. It can literally save your life.
I always have my ID/wallet on me because of this.. I’ve been paranoid from a young age that I’d die somehow and no one would know who I was.. idk how that started… but putting medical stuff is a good idea.
I do just that! Meds, vits, allergies, blood type and medical history. I keep it in my wallet incase of an emergency. I tell my friends when we go out so they know too. (My friends think I'm being silly. Uumm no...safe). I even have a paper that says I have dogs at home with an emergency contact.
I always carry my ID when I'm out but there's tons of times at my job (I work at a motel) where I've dealt with people who didn't have any ID at all. Most of these people were driving in as well, so why would you not have your license at least?
I once went 15 rounds with a Karen at the vet clinic I worked at - she was a vegetarian and insisted on feeding her cat a vegetarian diet. I tried to calmly explain that cats are carnivores and their body systems can't function without the minerals in meat products - and as I was explaining this, I was placing a catheter so we could give the poor cat IV nutrition. She continued to argue with both me and the doctor until he threatened to call the police and report her for animal abuse 😳. Btw, the cat ended up being ok and Karen eventually relented and bought a 15 pound bag of food from us.

The forestry one rings so true. I work in conservation. We come up against this all of the time. Proper forest management includes mowing/spraying invasive species, thinning the canopy so the trees can thrive, etc. This often gets misconstrued by the public who think that any work in the forest is wrong. Forest stewardship takes MANAGEMENT

I found out about controlled burns and saw one in action, but all the people on the bus with me were asking each other why it was being allowed to spread. Found out from a fire map that it was in fact controlled, and these people 2-3x my age couldn't see that it was planned. The only give-away was that it was in a near perfect line down the mountainside
Poor management of our green areas in northern California cost 85 people lost their lives. Towns were destroyed. If the trees/forest areas were properly cared for...the tragedy might not have been so horrific. This was the Camp Fire, Paradise CA, November 2018.
My vegetarian co-worker had the audacity to judge me and be like eww while I was eating a slice of pepperoni pizza. A couple of days before that she had brought at work some 7 eleven gummies she was eating and I literally told her that those gummies have gelatin and that comes from pig skin and cartilage. She literally lost it and I felt so great.
Most vegans don't push thier life choices on other ppl. Those that do are the kind of ppl follow trends for awhile then stop when it's no longer in fashion or have no clue what it's really about.

Preach, I am a vegetarian too by my own choice and my husbands favourite food of choice is KFC and I don't care. he is so sweet though, he always makes sure to minimize the smell of his cooking when he is cooking meat, scented candles, exhaust fan the whole lot just to make me feel better. No matter what your walk of life is, the more we can walk side by side on our own journeys the more peaceful existence will be.

Telling someone that they can't do something or that they're doing something wrong, especially if it's something perfectly legal, will generally make them more inclined to do what you're telling them not to do right in front of you just to piss you off. Don't be like that Karen. Mind your own business and plate. I eat a low meat diet, not completely vegetarian, but still very limited. It's for kidney disease and religious beliefs. I'm just gonna enjoy my food and not try to make anyone feel guilty for what they eat. I usually never even mention it unless the person I'm eating with questions me, and then I tell them that I'm working toward going vegetarian but I haven't completely made the plunge yet. They don't need to know the reasons unless they ask. I'm still not going to push those choices on them. If anything I just say a silent little prayer thanking the animal for its sacrifice and for giving them/us a nutritious meal. The animal was going to be slaughtered for food regardless, and even if we didn't eat it someone else would have. 🤷🏼♀️

I used to say they should've called them "Kelli & Kevin's" after my mom and dad because they deserve the title 😂 My mom has NPD and is a giant pain anywhere we go! She complains about the people bagging her groceries yet refuses to go to self check out. Now my dad is another story. Used to be normal until he got remarried and she made him quit talking to all the women in his family. She was insanely jealous and apparently not right in the head lol.
To be fair, my ID expired without my knowledge twice (years apart). I used to get a notification in the mail when my ID was about to expire, but they stopped doing that. And twice it was my bank that brought it to my attention that my ID had expired months earlier. I don't know. Maybe since I almost never buy anything that requires ID the expiration date just comes and goes without my realizing it. But as soon as I find out that my ID was expired, I go get it renewed.
To me, that's a reasonable excuse. And I've been there myself. But why the heck weren't these women even carrying something, expired or current, at all? Idjits.

The way we do agriculture, it decimates all the land that is plowed. All the little creatures and birds that live in the land dies so they can eat plants. There is no panacea for the world, its all a bit off. I used to work at a tattoo shop and was the front desk clerk. Had to check ID's. This kind of thing happened all the time. When they said something to the effect of this or that is something that shows their age. My response was nice a couple of times. They would usually get pissy eventually. Once that happened, my response was always if you are not reaponsible enough to keep your ID on you when you leave the house much less to do something that is regulated by age, then I will not trust you are however old you claim to be, regardless of how old you look. That usually puts an end to it. Either that or asked to speak to a manager, she was a lot meaner than me. If they did not get the picture with me, she would usually just say they heard the rules and laws and the fact they are trying to convince us to violate the law we no longer want their business and to vacate the premises.
The only people who ever freaked out about ID were people trying to get away with buying things underaged when I worked retail selling smokes. Often when it was obvious older women were out have a fun night, dressed nicely, with their girl friends, maybe a little tipsy, I would ID them. They would get all giggly and go on about who being ID made them feel young. I’d look at their ID and if the opportunity was right I’d go, “oh sorry about that ma’am I have to I’d everyone that looks under 25.” Always made their night

I was a vegetarian for quite a while because a doctor told me to do it to eliminate allergies. It was fine. I didn't think it was terrible for others to eat meat! I was doing it for my health. Then, years later, another doctor said I had to start eating red meat (I was extremely sick at the time) and I really got much better. So these people are just deranged..... No reason to put other people down if they don't agree with you!
I used to work in a pharmacy and a lot of scheduled (considered addictive) medication needs a valid ID to pick it up. The amount of people who came driving through the drive-thru without one was amazing.
One of the first things I did when I became vegan was look up which candies didn't have animal products. I remember learning that some candy has gelatin because that's how a vegetarian in the UK contracted mad cow disease during their big outbreak ☹️

That bar ID one is 100% true. I went out with a bunch of my friends one night and one of my friends had an expired ID (we're all 25-30 year olds) and my friend was NOT allowed inside. So we all had to leave... but it was fine we went and bought a bunch of bottles and went to my house for a bonfire. Ended up being really fun. Don't let the unexpected ruin your night ! :)
My favorite is when they say "As far as I am concerned" .... ALWAYS respond - "Well, that is the point lady...It's NOT your concern." ha ha ha, the entitlement of these ladies.
The ID story reminded me of when my sister and I went out with my mom to this restaurant for linner. My sister just became of age and wanted to drink beer. My mom was excited and decided to have a drink too. The waiter asked for my sister's ID, of course, and she showed him with pride. It was super funny. My mom ordered a drink and he asked for her ID. My mom giggled and was really happy to be asked. The waiter charmed her by mentioning that she looked too young to drink and that is why he asked her. I was 18 at the time, so I had water. lol But it's true. When you have your ID, being asked to see it makes you feel good. Until you move to Korea, and there are bars here that won't let anyone older than 29 inside. Then, being asked is embarrassing.
When I was a bartender, a lot of people would be like 'well I look old enough' to get away with not having their IDs. I had to apologetically tell a group that without an ID they couldn't come in. They said they drove all this way (for a movie theater) which...okay sure, but legally I couldn't let it slide. There was this couple that had pictures of their ID on the phone and that doesn't legally count. I told them that, then fought with me. I had my manager tell them, they fought her. We had to get like the head manager of the whole movie theater to tell them and they respected him. So like, I know it sucks but unless something big happened like you got your wallet stolen- IDs should always be with you.
The ID one gets me too. I am legally blind and cannot drive, and I don't drink alcohol, but I always have my ID with me. It's always in my wallet, and even if I change purses, the wallet goes in the new one. I used to be a cashier, and the number of people that would claim to have 'forgotten' their ID was astounding!
Exactly. I get carded for everything! 2 years ago I got carded because I was buying brake fluid cleaner and you have to be over 18. I had a mask on and the poor cashier really thought I was under 18. I was 38. She apologized profusely but I just laughed because I have always been carded.
That first one caught me just right. I was sitting at a steakhouse, having a decent dinner with my wife. In walks this absolute nutcase in a cow suit, screaming about how meat is murder. I got the server's attention, and got her to play along. Stood up, grabbed my fork and knife, and walked up to the nutcase, pointed out the cut I'd like to have done and asked for it to be done rare. The server, who got a $250 tip from this, gently took the cow by the hand, and started leading them toward the kitchen (and the door, where the manager was standing). The cow went nuckin' futs, freaked out, and passed out. The entire restaurant saw this play out, eating the whole time. I figured, "f*ck it, it's dinner and a show".

As a bar tender in Australia it’s common knowledge that a valid ID is needed, if we ask for ID, no matter what age, you need to produce it, we can get fined, the venue can be fined and they can be fined. It’s not hard just to carry some 🤷🏼♀️

Yep, my aunt and uncle lived on a mountain and it was incredibly remote. Like almost no cell service kind of remote. And the guy next to them (which next to them was multiple acres away) decided to sell his land to developers. They were annoyed about it. But if you don’t own the land, you don’t really have a right to say what happens to it.
7:43 I get it 💯. I live in Oregon & they’re also SUPET strict about ID’s. My regular stores, who know me, who know what I get, they’ll still ask me for my ID, even if they just seen it 3 hours before. It’s not that deep, just bring your ID in. In OR, if my husband was to buy tobacco or liquor & I’m with him, they can ask to see my ID as well, if I don’t have it (& vice versa, if I’m buying & he doesn’t have his ID), they won’t sell it.
I was a vegetarian for a decade or two... and not once did I try to convince anyone not to eat meat...or berate them for their choices. Nor did I expect them to cook something special for me.

Most of it comes from crustaceans. I am allergic to seafood and I canrt take most collegians for this reason. I have to be very very careful to find one thats 100% animal collegian.
As for the young woman informing the women at the bar entrance that they couldn't enter without a legal form of ID. I definitely respect that because I'm now a 57 years old man ( and Yes my profile pic is current) I still get ID'd & I have no problem with it, & that's because in my twentys I worked in convenience stores where cops would run stings with undercover people without IDs who tried to purchase alcohol & cigarettes without IDs, & in restaurants where we were required to ID to served them alcohol, & I always passed their tests. 💯
Charlotte, the ID thing is honestly a bigger problem than you think. I work in an establishment where the company policy is to ID everyone as well. The shit we put up with because grown ass people (Men mostly) throwing HUGE temper tantrums is insane!! Plus the amount of people who are driving around without their licenses is also crazy!! I used to work as a cashier at a supermarket and I remember a woman was buying a bottle of wine and she looked young, so I asked for her ID. She was 65 and she looked like she was 22! I remember looking at her in disbelief! It was a valid ID too, so I looked at her and said “what kind of voodoo black magic are you doing to look so good at your age and how do I do it” 😂
There's no freaking way that first woman was in her '90s. She was legit about 50. Maybe 55 at most. There is no freaking way she was 90 something. And she needs to keep her damn opinions to herself.

I worked as a bartender pre-pandemic. I wasn’t afraid of refusing people that didn’t show ID because I had worked at a Circle K previously and the state I work in has a program similar to the one in Colorado where they will send underage kids into the store to buy either tobacco or alcohol products, testing us on whether or not we ask them for ID. (The rules are very strict and you know almost immediately if you passed or failed if you’re paying attention.) So one day during the day shift, two young ladies walk up to my bar. One has multiple tattoos and I’ve checked her ID before, but the other one I ask for her ID. She doesn’t have it so I offer her non-alcoholic versions and alternatives, but refuse to pour her a boozy drink. 3 years later and I work in a completely different industry and am talking to one of the retail leads for the store. I tell her I used to be a bartender and what restaurant, and her eyes narrow for a long minute. Then she says “bitch, you carded me and wouldn’t sell me a drink!!” HA! I felt only slight embarrassment, bc she was underage at the time and I was in the right 😂 But I didn’t expect following the rules to come back and bite me like that 😂😂😂
For the bar one, they probably tried the other two bars the girl mentioned and weren't let into those either if a valid form of ID is required for bars in Colorado before you can enter. They probably pushed so much because she looks young and they thought she would cave.

Many years ago, my then 13 y.o. daughter wanted to be a vegetarian. I told her okie-dokey. That's fine. I'll help you. Then I asked her what she was going to do with the babysitting money she was saving to buy a leather bomber jacket. I explained that cows don't just stand up & unzip their hides. She understood but, still didn't like eating beef. Turns out, she has an allergy to beef. And she married into a mega-beef farm family!
I feel her on that, beef makes sick but it’s the thing that properly regulates my iron. I didn’t do well with supplements & my iron rich veggies weren’t enough on their own.
I hope they give their cows 🐄 a humane existence and life before killing them. Cos they feel too. We can eat meat but the tortures animals (sentient living beings) endure in moder factory farming is evil. I hope this family has ethics.
I do understand the forest clearing Karen - people I know had around ~15% of their forest cleared when the neighbours hired a crew to clear their own land (don't know if it was by mistake or the cutting company chose to take a profit, but my acquaintances had around $20,000.00 worth of trees stolen). Cutting down trees without a permit is criminal offense in itself where I live and now it is a whole mess, because the owner is responsible for the trees on their land even if they were stolen.
These kinds of videos makes me feel better in the sense that it validates me internally because I think about the MULTITUDES of psychopathic meat suites every single day 😭 They just pop out of the actual & metaphorical bushes with their unprovoked craziness 😂
Of what I understand, she is use to have no neighboard (at least, no that she can see) and now she is worry about intimacy. Until this point, I can understand that she want to know. But a normal person would be to know if she need to talk about fence or something. A normal person, if they think that the owner is doing thing that should required permit and don't have it will call at the cityhall to fill a complain (and yes, to cut tree/building a house, most of city has restriction & rules). But, you are definitively not entitle to ask the worker the plan. And when will all these Karen will just go away when they are upset (instead of yelling "go away" and charging at the same time) or actually call the f**** police instead of manacing and args for half an hour and finally give into threathning/assault?
Oh lordy, maybe someone should make a horror/comedy movie about a serial killer Karen! There was a 90s movie kind of like that called "Serial Mom", and I think it was loosely based on a true story. Kathleen Turner played the mom, but I think the character was not a true Karen, like, she was nice except for the murdering part.
My father-in-law liked to argue like this. One day after an hour of listening to him go on and on, I stood up and said I was leaving because he wasn’t listening to anything anyone was saying and I didn’t want to hear it anymore. He response, and I quote, was “oh come on, this is fun.” My response was “Maybe for you but not for anyone else.”
I literally have to deal with this constantly, and people like this aren't having fun from the confrontation, they're having fun proving they're right - it's actually addictive for them, you can see the sweat if their victim/opponent has the better argument: they start to get flustered, they start to stutter, they start to change the subject of the argument so anything their victim/opponent had to say is no longer valid, and if they still don't get that rush for being right they start screaming and accusing all sorts of prejudices. It's mentally exhausting that I know that process by now.

I work at a smoke shop and the amount of times people have gotten pissed because I asked for their ID and they didn’t have it is astounding. It’s a rule here if you look under 40 imma ID you.
As a recently aged adult who work as a cashier, I always have to ask people to see their physical ID, and many elderly adults had sighed of scoffed at me many times like listen. It's for the best anyways. I always and will continue to tell people to bring their ID with them at all cost.
When I worked bar it always astonished me how people thought getting angry and offended would in anyway convince us that they were old enough to be there.
I used to work at a gasstation, and when a client was super rude i would make their food/drink and look at them like i was super exited for them to eat or drink it. Let me tell you some of them threw it away, some would smell and stare at it for a while 😁😁😁
High lite of my life was not being able to buy beer at a baseball game when I was 33. Had to go back to seat and get ID....was worth every step since I floated there and back 😆
People really do get verbally abusive over producing photo IDs. It’s ridiculous. I deal with them often. You’d think I was asking for a blood sample. 🤣
When I used to work in retail, I had customers who would lie and say they forgot their ID. When in reality they were just too lazy and entitled to get their IDs out of their effing wallets! We would go around and around, you need your ID to purchase alcohol or cash your check, etc. After a lot of eye rolling and sighing they would get their ID out of their wallet. I work at a marijuana dispensary and I have arguments about IDs all the time. Having security helps with that most of the time. But I've had to call the cops before for people refusing to leave the property. It's mind boggling sometimes.
I think the tree-cleaning video issue is that she is upset because the property is adjacent to hers and she didn't want to lose the privacy that the trees provided to her. She thought that she had some control over the trees on someone else’s property. Wow!
She's made a great start with the new neighbors 🙄. I do understand her being upset about a quiet shaded lot being cut down for a 4-wheeler track and construction, but it's not her land so oh well.
The forest one was probably because she likes the view of all the trees and doesn’t understand that those trees are on someone else’s property.. great way to make friends with the new neighbour. If he’s a petty king he will be building an even bigger house now 😂😂
In Argentina you are required to always have your ID on, you can actually be arrested for roaming without ID (We have a national ID card) and in Chile they started implementing IDing people everywhere to buy alcohol, even if you're a 90yo grannie, you need to show your ID to buy alcohol. I think the issue is that in the USA there aren't many forms of ID's because people aren't required to own a National ID... so you can go your whole life without a valid ID

Your drivers license is your form of ID here in USA. The Real ID (thats how it’s called) it’s your form of identification. Or just the ID card if you don’t drive. Social security number and passport are forms of National ID. Every citizen has a SSN.
In the US citizens are not required to have an id to travel by foot or as a passenger in a private vehicle. The freedom to travel is considered a civil right. You are required to have id to operate a motor vehicle, to travel by mass transit such as airplanes, and to carry a concealed weapon with a permit, among other things. I've met quite a few people who don't have id or only have id that expired years ago.
My household is vegan (My kids are very allergic to milk, and we're all neurodivergent so the meat texture isn't something we handle well). 6's special interests include global warming, pollution etc. I'm having to have BIG talks with 6 about why we DO NOT lecture people about their food choices. In SOME situations you can have a friendly discussion but you don't get to push your views on people. The only person you can control is yourself. If my ASD 6yr old can get it and stop, why can't grown-ass adults?! 😂😂😂

Ooo yeah, all those things are true. It is also funny to me, how a lot of people seem to forget the most pollutant part of every single car: the tires! As one drives these parts spread rubber (mixed with plastics and whatnot) along the highway, and these parts are LARGE. They don’t drift of into atmosphere like carbon oxide from the exhaust. These parts get into ones drinking water and need a lót of time to get processed by nature. She can be all snobbish, at the end of the day she is worse than everyone, because she is convinced she is better.
People are absolutely NASTY when it comes to being ID-ed. You'd think it would be a compliment that I'm pretending you don't like 62 years old. I used to work at a drugstore where we asked for ID all the time for cigarette purchases and people would scream at me, throw them at me, ask to talk to my manager, argue, etc. when I asked. It's the LAW. I'm not about to be fired or fined because of you.
I have family members who live to argue, seriously; when my son and I stayed with them for a month, they tried to keep the arguing down since he and I have PTSD but near the end of that month my niece told me how on edge they all were because they had not had a screaming argument in weeks!!! Her brother will literally argue anything with anyone at anytime; he will even take the opposite side of his own beliefs just so he can argue with you. I really can't be around them for longer than 3 - 4 hours at a time
As a CO native I can confirm that some bars are super strict, especially in lower downtown Denver where's there's multiple bars on every block and college kids and tourists galore and that's why you need to be an adult in order to do adult things. You FINALLY have a date night you would think to be prepared as hell but some people just can't accept that responsibility and want to make it everyone else's problem. HOW ARE THEY NOT EMBARASSED??????
About IDs: A lot of venues, especially nighttime venues will ID everyone at the door, in case anything goes down throughout the night and they need to call the police. (in the UK the police can purposely bring someone underage, get them in past security/the host, and send them to try and get a drink at the bar; which is why if you look like you might be under 25/21 - depends on the venue license - you could get ID'd by every single bartender in that venue)
Same here in the US, they will have underage checks for alcohol and tobacco at anyplace that sells them, bars, convenience stores, grocery stores. If found in violation there are fines and they can lose their alcohol license.
Im a bartender in Chicago and when i tell you how many people have cursed me out up and down just like thier vertical ID . How quickly they forget as a bartender. I have the right to refuse service.😂😊

I'm a bartender and I swear the amount of adults that act like children when they don't get their way is astonishing.
I was never a bar tender but did work at a pizza place that served crappy, not ar all good, beer in bottles. In the same day I had an undercover officer come in with an under 21 year old. They both ordered a beer and I asked for their IDs. His was all good hers was not. So I said I can give you rootbeer but that's the only beer you are getting here. They said thanks but we will go somewhere else(I know it was undercover as we got a letter days later saying so.) Then that night had a group of 4 adults come in just before closing the dining area. None had IDs. They all asked for beer. I denied them all. They got mad and left a huge mess. They basically had a food fight with salad bar items.

Should it astonish? Age does in no way equal maturity or wisdom, some people just have no grace or dignity and they never will because that involves character in which some folks never work on so they choose to be poor in that account.

If for no other reason, carry your ID in case something bad happens to you they can call your family. I was an ER nurse for years and another thing to put in your wallet is a piece of paper with your medical problems, a list of your medications, and any allergies to medications you have. It can literally save your life.

I always have my ID/wallet on me because of this.. I’ve been paranoid from a young age that I’d die somehow and no one would know who I was.. idk how that started… but putting medical stuff is a good idea.
I do just that!
Meds, vits, allergies, blood type and medical history.
I keep it in my wallet incase of an emergency.
I tell my friends when we go out so they know too. (My friends think I'm being silly. Uumm no...safe).
I even have a paper that says I have dogs at home with an emergency contact.
I always carry my ID when I'm out but there's tons of times at my job (I work at a motel) where I've dealt with people who didn't have any ID at all. Most of these people were driving in as well, so why would you not have your license at least?
I have my medical issues and medications listed in my phone where my emergency contacts are

I once went 15 rounds with a Karen at the vet clinic I worked at - she was a vegetarian and insisted on feeding her cat a vegetarian diet. I tried to calmly explain that cats are carnivores and their body systems can't function without the minerals in meat products - and as I was explaining this, I was placing a catheter so we could give the poor cat IV nutrition. She continued to argue with both me and the doctor until he threatened to call the police and report her for animal abuse 😳. Btw, the cat ended up being ok and Karen eventually relented and bought a 15 pound bag of food from us.

The forestry one rings so true. I work in conservation. We come up against this all of the time. Proper forest management includes mowing/spraying invasive species, thinning the canopy so the trees can thrive, etc. This often gets misconstrued by the public who think that any work in the forest is wrong. Forest stewardship takes MANAGEMENT
Until a prescribed burn gets out of hand on a Red flag warned day and 300,000+ of pristine forest is lost due to negligence. 😡

I found out about controlled burns and saw one in action, but all the people on the bus with me were asking each other why it was being allowed to spread. Found out from a fire map that it was in fact controlled, and these people 2-3x my age couldn't see that it was planned.

Poor management of our green areas in northern California cost 85 people lost their lives. Towns were destroyed. If the trees/forest areas were properly cared for...the tragedy might not have been so horrific.

My vegetarian co-worker had the audacity to judge me and be like eww while I was eating a slice of pepperoni pizza. A couple of days before that she had brought at work some 7 eleven gummies she was eating and I literally told her that those gummies have gelatin and that comes from pig skin and cartilage. She literally lost it and I felt so great.

Preach, I am a vegetarian too by my own choice and my husbands favourite food of choice is KFC and I don't care. he is so sweet though, he always makes sure to minimize the smell of his cooking when he is cooking meat, scented candles, exhaust fan the whole lot just to make me feel better. No matter what your walk of life is, the more we can walk side by side on our own journeys the more peaceful existence will be.

I eat a low meat diet, not completely vegetarian, but still very limited. It's for kidney disease and religious beliefs. I'm just gonna enjoy my food and not try to make anyone feel guilty for what they eat. I usually never even mention it unless the person I'm eating with questions me, and then I tell them that I'm working toward going vegetarian but I haven't completely made the plunge yet. They don't need to know the reasons unless they ask.
I'm still not going to push those choices on them. If anything I just say a silent little prayer thanking the animal for its sacrifice and for giving them/us a nutritious meal. The animal was going to be slaughtered for food regardless, and even if we didn't eat it someone else would have. 🤷🏼♀️

As a former bank teller, I was mildly alarmed to discover just how many adults drive around without an ID or with an expired ID.
To be fair, my ID expired without my knowledge twice (years apart). I used to get a notification in the mail when my ID was about to expire, but they stopped doing that. And twice it was my bank that brought it to my attention that my ID had expired months earlier. I don't know. Maybe since I almost never buy anything that requires ID the expiration date just comes and goes without my realizing it. But as soon as I find out that my ID was expired, I go get it renewed.
To me, that's a reasonable excuse. And I've been there myself. But why the heck weren't these women even carrying something, expired or current, at all? Idjits.

The way we do agriculture, it decimates all the land that is plowed. All the little creatures and birds that live in the land dies so they can eat plants. There is no panacea for the world, its all a bit off. Also, her Tesla uses rare earth chemicals that's mined by kids and poisons the earth when the battery is old and needs to be disposed of, again, no panacea.

And I mean like 50$+ for just a packet of pills or bottles with ZERO marked ounces. Which makes me believe they’re smaller.
I used to work at a tattoo shop and was the front desk clerk. Had to check ID's. This kind of thing happened all the time. When they said something to the effect of this or that is something that shows their age. My response was nice a couple of times. They would usually get pissy eventually. Once that happened, my response was always if you are not reaponsible enough to keep your ID on you when you leave the house much less to do something that is regulated by age, then I will not trust you are however old you claim to be, regardless of how old you look. That usually puts an end to it. Either that or asked to speak to a manager, she was a lot meaner than me. If they did not get the picture with me, she would usually just say they heard the rules and laws and the fact they are trying to convince us to violate the law we no longer want their business and to vacate the premises.
The only people who ever freaked out about ID were people trying to get away with buying things underaged when I worked retail selling smokes.
Often when it was obvious older women were out have a fun night, dressed nicely, with their girl friends, maybe a little tipsy, I would ID them. They would get all giggly and go on about who being ID made them feel young. I’d look at their ID and if the opportunity was right I’d go, “oh sorry about that ma’am I have to I’d everyone that looks under 25.” Always made their night

I was a vegetarian for quite a while because a doctor told me to do it to eliminate allergies. It was fine. I didn't think it was terrible for others to eat meat! I was doing it for my health. Then, years later, another doctor said I had to start eating red meat (I was extremely sick at the time) and I really got much better. So these people are just deranged..... No reason to put other people down if they don't agree with you!
I used to work in a pharmacy and a lot of scheduled (considered addictive) medication needs a valid ID to pick it up. The amount of people who came driving through the drive-thru without one was amazing.
I have chronic pain and take a medication that requires ID - always happy to show it because I need those meds to live a happy life 😂

One of the first things I did when I became vegan was look up which candies didn't have animal products. I remember learning that some candy has gelatin because that's how a vegetarian in the UK contracted mad cow disease during their big outbreak ☹️

That bar ID one is 100% true. I went out with a bunch of my friends one night and one of my friends had an expired ID (we're all 25-30 year olds) and my friend was NOT allowed inside. So we all had to leave... but it was fine we went and bought a bunch of bottles and went to my house for a bonfire. Ended up being really fun. Don't let the unexpected ruin your night ! :)

The ID story reminded me of when my sister and I went out with my mom to this restaurant for linner. My sister just became of age and wanted to drink beer. My mom was excited and decided to have a drink too. The waiter asked for my sister's ID, of course, and she showed him with pride. It was super funny. My mom ordered a drink and he asked for her ID. My mom giggled and was really happy to be asked. The waiter charmed her by mentioning that she looked too young to drink and that is why he asked her. I was 18 at the time, so I had water. lol
But it's true. When you have your ID, being asked to see it makes you feel good. Until you move to Korea, and there are bars here that won't let anyone older than 29 inside. Then, being asked is embarrassing.

When I was a bartender, a lot of people would be like 'well I look old enough' to get away with not having their IDs. I had to apologetically tell a group that without an ID they couldn't come in. They said they drove all this way (for a movie theater) which...okay sure, but legally I couldn't let it slide.
There was this couple that had pictures of their ID on the phone and that doesn't legally count. I told them that, then fought with me. I had my manager tell them, they fought her. We had to get like the head manager of the whole movie theater to tell them and they respected him. So like, I know it sucks but unless something big happened like you got your wallet stolen- IDs should always be with you.
Yeah, and even if my ID got stolen, I wouldn’t be trying to go out to a bar before getting it replaced.

The ID one gets me too. I am legally blind and cannot drive, and I don't drink alcohol, but I always have my ID with me. It's always in my wallet, and even if I change purses, the wallet goes in the new one. I used to be a cashier, and the number of people that would claim to have 'forgotten' their ID was astounding!
A third of those are underage, another third are from the government to see if you are complying, the last third are just idiots.
Exactly. I get carded for everything! 2 years ago I got carded because I was buying brake fluid cleaner and you have to be over 18. I had a mask on and the poor cashier really thought I was under 18. I was 38. She apologized profusely but I just laughed because I have always been carded.

That first one caught me just right.
I was sitting at a steakhouse, having a decent dinner with my wife. In walks this absolute nutcase in a cow suit, screaming about how meat is murder. I got the server's attention, and got her to play along. Stood up, grabbed my fork and knife, and walked up to the nutcase, pointed out the cut I'd like to have done and asked for it to be done rare. The server, who got a $250 tip from this, gently took the cow by the hand, and started leading them toward the kitchen (and the door, where the manager was standing). The cow went nuckin' futs, freaked out, and passed out. The entire restaurant saw this play out, eating the whole time. I figured, "f*ck it, it's dinner and a show".
That made my day
And then the entire restaurant stood up and clapped

As a bar tender in Australia it’s common knowledge that a valid ID is needed, if we ask for ID, no matter what age, you need to produce it, we can get fined, the venue can be fined and they can be fined. It’s not hard just to carry some 🤷🏼♀️

Yep, my aunt and uncle lived on a mountain and it was incredibly remote. Like almost no cell service kind of remote. And the guy next to them (which next to them was multiple acres away) decided to sell his land to developers. They were annoyed about it. But if you don’t own the land, you don’t really have a right to say what happens to it.

My regular stores, who know me, who know what I get, they’ll still ask me for my ID, even if they just seen it 3 hours before. It’s not that deep, just bring your ID in. In OR, if my husband was to buy tobacco or liquor & I’m with him, they can ask to see my ID as well, if I don’t have it (& vice versa, if I’m buying & he doesn’t have his ID), they won’t sell it.

I definitely respect that because I'm now a 57 years old man ( and Yes my profile pic is current) I still get ID'd & I have no problem with it, & that's because in my twentys I worked in convenience stores where cops would run stings with undercover people without IDs who tried to purchase alcohol & cigarettes without IDs, & in restaurants where we were required to ID to served them alcohol, & I always passed their tests. 💯

I worked as a bartender pre-pandemic. I wasn’t afraid of refusing people that didn’t show ID because I had worked at a Circle K previously and the state I work in has a program similar to the one in Colorado where they will send underage kids into the store to buy either tobacco or alcohol products, testing us on whether or not we ask them for ID. (The rules are very strict and you know almost immediately if you passed or failed if you’re paying attention.) So one day during the day shift, two young ladies walk up to my bar. One has multiple tattoos and I’ve checked her ID before, but the other one I ask for her ID. She doesn’t have it so I offer her non-alcoholic versions and alternatives, but refuse to pour her a boozy drink.
3 years later and I work in a completely different industry and am talking to one of the retail leads for the store. I tell her I used to be a bartender and what restaurant, and her eyes narrow for a long minute. Then she says “bitch, you carded me and wouldn’t sell me a drink!!” HA! I felt only slight embarrassment, bc she was underage at the time and I was in the right 😂
But I didn’t expect following the rules to come back and bite me like that 😂😂😂
I avoid confrontation too and have never understood these Karens that get in peoples faces and act all crazy. Leave me out of it!😂
For the bar one, they probably tried the other two bars the girl mentioned and weren't let into those either if a valid form of ID is required for bars in Colorado before you can enter. They probably pushed so much because she looks young and they thought she would cave.

I do understand the forest clearing Karen - people I know had around ~15% of their forest cleared when the neighbours hired a crew to clear their own land (don't know if it was by mistake or the cutting company chose to take a profit, but my acquaintances had around $20,000.00 worth of trees stolen). Cutting down trees without a permit is criminal offense in itself where I live and now it is a whole mess, because the owner is responsible for the trees on their land even if they were stolen.

Oh lordy, maybe someone should make a horror/comedy movie about a serial killer Karen! There was a 90s movie kind of like that called "Serial Mom", and I think it was loosely based on a true story. Kathleen Turner played the mom, but I think the character was not a true Karen, like, she was nice except for the murdering part.
My father-in-law liked to argue like this. One day after an hour of listening to him go on and on, I stood up and said I was leaving because he wasn’t listening to anything anyone was saying and I didn’t want to hear it anymore. He response, and I quote, was “oh come on, this is fun.” My response was “Maybe for you but not for anyone else.”
I literally have to deal with this constantly, and people like this aren't having fun from the confrontation, they're having fun proving they're right - it's actually addictive for them, you can see the sweat if their victim/opponent has the better argument: they start to get flustered, they start to stutter, they start to change the subject of the argument so anything their victim/opponent had to say is no longer valid, and if they still don't get that rush for being right they start screaming and accusing all sorts of prejudices. It's mentally exhausting that I know that process by now.

As a recently aged adult who work as a cashier, I always have to ask people to see their physical ID, and many elderly adults had sighed of scoffed at me many times like listen. It's for the best anyways. I always and will continue to tell people to bring their ID with them at all cost.
When I worked bar it always astonished me how people thought getting angry and offended would in anyway convince us that they were old enough to be there.
I used to work at a gasstation, and when a client was super rude i would make their food/drink and look at them like i was super exited for them to eat or drink it. Let me tell you some of them threw it away, some would smell and stare at it for a while 😁😁😁

People really do get verbally abusive over producing photo IDs. It’s ridiculous. I deal with them often. You’d think I was asking for a blood sample. 🤣
When I used to work in retail, I had customers who would lie and say they forgot their ID. When in reality they were just too lazy and entitled to get their IDs out of their effing wallets! We would go around and around, you need your ID to purchase alcohol or cash your check, etc. After a lot of eye rolling and sighing they would get their ID out of their wallet. Like how hard is it to get your ID out? Grow up already! Good grief! 🙄
I work at a marijuana dispensary and I have arguments about IDs all the time. Having security helps with that most of the time. But I've had to call the cops before for people refusing to leave the property. It's mind boggling sometimes.

In Argentina you are required to always have your ID on, you can actually be arrested for roaming without ID (We have a national ID card) and in Chile they started implementing IDing people everywhere to buy alcohol, even if you're a 90yo grannie, you need to show your ID to buy alcohol. I think the issue is that in the USA there aren't many forms of ID's because people aren't required to own a National ID... so you can go your whole life without a valid ID

Your drivers license is your form of ID here in USA. The Real ID (thats how it’s called) it’s your form of identification. Or just the ID card if you don’t drive. Social security number and passport are forms of National ID. Every citizen has a SSN.

In the US citizens are not required to have an id to travel by foot or as a passenger in a private vehicle. The freedom to travel is considered a civil right. You are required to have id to operate a motor vehicle, to travel by mass transit such as airplanes, and to carry a concealed weapon with a permit, among other things. I've met quite a few people who don't have id or only have id that expired years ago.
My household is vegan (My kids are very allergic to milk, and we're all neurodivergent so the meat texture isn't something we handle well). 6's special interests include global warming, pollution etc. I'm having to have BIG talks with 6 about why we DO NOT lecture people about their food choices. In SOME situations you can have a friendly discussion but you don't get to push your views on people. The only person you can control is yourself. As one drives these parts spread rubber (mixed with plastics and whatnot) along the highway, and these parts are LARGE. They don’t drift of into atmosphere like carbon oxide from the exhaust.

People are absolutely NASTY when it comes to being ID-ed. You'd think it would be a compliment that I'm pretending you don't like 62 years old. I used to work at a drugstore where we asked for ID all the time for cigarette purchases and people would scream at me, throw them at me, ask to talk to my manager, argue, etc. when I asked. It's the LAW. I'm not about to be fired or fined because of you.
I have family members who live to argue, seriously; when my son and I stayed with them for a month, they tried to keep the arguing down since he and I have PTSD but near the end of that month my niece told me how on edge they all were because they had not had a screaming argument in weeks!!! Her brother will literally argue anything with anyone at anytime; he will even take the opposite side of his own beliefs just so he can argue with you. I really can't be around them for longer than 3 - 4 hours at a time
As a CO native I can confirm that some bars are super strict, especially in lower downtown Denver where's there's multiple bars on every block and college kids and tourists galore and that's why you need to be an adult in order to do adult things. You FINALLY have a date night you would think to be prepared as hell but some people just can't accept that responsibility and want to make it everyone else's problem. HOW ARE THEY NOT EMBARASSED??????

About IDs: A lot of venues, especially nighttime venues will ID everyone at the door, in case anything goes down throughout the night and they need to call the police.
(in the UK the police can purposely bring someone underage, get them in past security/the host, and send them to try and get a drink at the bar; which is why if you look like you might be under 25/21 - depends on the venue license - you could get ID'd by every single bartender in that venue)
Same here in the US, they will have underage checks for alcohol and tobacco at anyplace that sells them, bars, convenience stores, grocery stores. If found in violation there are fines and they can lose their alcohol license.
Im a bartender in Chicago and when i tell you how many people have cursed me out up and down just like thier vertical ID . How quickly they forget as a bartender. I have the right to refuse service.😂😊
